Okay folks here are the Dragon and Sun signs for the Tavern! They came out a lot better than I anticipated at that size.

Managed to find some time over the holidays to throw some paint (not literally, I used brushes....no really)on the Sentinel.

This looks great! My only question (sorry if this has been asked) is: is there a space on the tower to place a character? I'd love to have him actually standing on the tower.
On the Crown of Command? I'm afraid not, it would have to be quite a bit bigger to accommodate a character and it's already 150mm tall,.
On holidays, my friend painted the Portal of Power. It looks like dlamnie also very nicely:

Its a very nice paint job! Blends in to the board really well.
got my delivery of all 6 pieces today in Germany, started on tuesday from England, yo really fast postal delivery.
well., i knew the modells are small, but i was surprised how tiny they are. i considered the crown of command double size.
but nevertheless the size is of no matter. especially the crown of command Looks so great and sweet.
the models can be used for other games too, crown and Portal for descent 2 for example, village and City for mageknight, runewars , etc.
i guess everybody here agrees when i say : you simply cant stop doing it ! we are addicted already from this handfull of models !
the next order i will give Comes when Chapel, Graveyard and Castle are ready. no way not to do These, Leavon !
i strongly advice you to Keep your way with game accesoires and not to go into heroes and Monster creation. Because there are thousands of it:
games Workshop warhammer, Age of sigmar, reaper miniatures and other pewter companies, from ffg we have excellent descent 2 and battelore 2 models.
for everybody who wants Dragons : look at descent 2 lieutnant paccks, Valyndra, even in same Grey colour as Leavons models, more Dragons single packed in battlelore 2 the great Dragon and the undead Dragon. more Dragons and Monsters in descent 2 heroes and Monster packs, as well as nearly a hundred of hero models.
but take a look at game acessoires like your Talisman ones: anyone exists ? where? i dont know any. and they are needed to give games more atmosphere, to bring it alive.
you should make a large Talisman collection for your own Reputation and then go maybe to descent 2 or mage Knight.
i wish you all well and good luck with this beautiful modelling
edit : chapel, graveyard, castle, when ? no break allowed, we force you, maybe waiting until monday, nono, come on ....haha
I'm really pleased that you're happy with your order and have no fear I won't be stopping any time soon. I am hoping to grow the range of games that I offer accessories for so if anyone has any suggestions for things they would like to see then please let me know.
I will be doing a Team of miniature for Blood Bowl in the Spring in the form of a Kickstarter but it won't affect the terrain accessories and as it will be a collaboration with 2 other artists probably won't be under the Spare Oom studio banner. If it works then we'll do more if not then I'll stick to the terrain and accessories.
The Rock will be released tomorrow and the Chapel is in progress as I speak, I'm hoping to have it finished by the end of next week. After that I'll be doing the Temple and then I may create a poll to see what people would like to see next.
Spent today finally finishing my scenery.
I really like the village.
Its odd trying to match the colours on the board with paint schemes for the pieces.
What you think should be grey stone is almost a cream light brown such as the City and Sentinal bridge. The Sentinal on the board painting almost has a greenish tinge.
They look super on the board and the little path running into the village can be replicated to make it blend in as well as gloss varnish on the water wheel for that splashing water effect.
Thanks Leavon, can't wait for the next few bits
Very nice Kate!
If you fancy some more practice, just let me know
They look great! Really nice work. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to a bit more painting, might take a break from the Chapel tomorrow and get the paints out.

OK Leavon. there is no better board game on the market beneath Talisman than Mage Knight. The good Point about it : the models für Talisman and Mage Knight are identical ! the better Point : you Need 4-8 models of each type for mage Knight. they look all the same, so there are 4x City, 7x village, 8x Castle, 7x wizards Tower, etc. If you really make all models, i will really buy them in the number needed. that would be a Special Price around 500 or more. i already payed 70 euro to make the copies in large scale for mage knight map tiles last year ((in 20/40cm and a second set in 40/30cm. your Talisman models fit very well to the large size, even the crown of command fits into one hex )
for mage Knight you need following further models, which are in Talisman too, beneath Castle and Graveyard :
Wizards Tower (Talisman Vampire Tower would make a splendid Wizard Tower), Mines, Crypt (as a dungeon entrance), Ruins, Deep Wood (stonecircle surrounded by trees), crag, cave (warlocks cave looking like just a cave)
Legion addon needs a Labyrinth, a tent camp, a dep mine (looking like a big hole in the earth), just take a look at boardgamegeeks. this is a huge program.
no poll necessary, next should be Graveyard and Castle ! then Vampire Tower (usable as Wizards Tower). if you listen to people world of warcraft comes out, a totally ruined game for idiots who are unable to care for anything and see any differences, deaf dumb and blind.

Strongly disagree with this. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, while the terrain pieces are an awesome addition to the game, miniatures for the Mephisto characters/DE exclusives would be on a completely different level - they would complete the game in a way the terrain pieces just don't. While there are tons of other companies that make minis, talisman doesn't use generic minis for any of its characters - they're all custom models, and it's not possible to find matching minis for any of the Mephisto/DE characters. The terrain pieces are cool, but the minis would be unbelievably awesome.i strongly advice you to Keep your way with game accesoires and not to go into heroes and Monster creation. Because there are thousands of it:
how old are you ? 7 or 8 ? Internet is full of mini companies, not to find a Mephisto model shows incapability to use Internet, sorry to say that. icequeen, firelord, holy spring, etc can be recruited from other Talisman character models, so easy it is. absolutely no need for heroes and monsters. that would be a waste oif time and work, which should be spended on the Accessoires instead.
btw Mephisto is an Event Card which would not touch the board. what do you want with that ? but thanks, you are a representive example of those world-of-warcraft-Pollers Leavon would fall into and loose his Quality immediately.
Edited by magicrealmTavern turned up this morning delivered by a short, tubby porter who was quite stout.
Its put me in high spirits and I've spent the last hour drinking inn its quality.
You've not come up short with this Leavon and its the best bar none so theres no need to wine about this lovely piece .Ale start painting it this week if i have the time please and I'll treat myself to a Knight on the tiles when I paint the roof. I hope my painting efforts don't get slated too much.
Which gets me thinking if
If the flagon with the dragon is the brew that is true and the vessel with the pessel is the poisonous brew.
What then happens with the chalice from the palace?
Thank you Leavon.
Got my tavern this morning and again really impressed. Thanks Leavon for the quality work

Don't be an ass. I was talking about the Mephisto CHARACTERS - that is, the characters initially released in the German gaming magazine Mephisto, which have since been added to the digital edition (exorcist, courtesan, etc.). Yes, you can find models that are somewhat similar for a lot of them, but not a perfect match, unlike with the actual talisman minis. And believe it or not, other people have opinions too - yes, you've made it quite clear that you would rather he worked on the terrain pieces, but that doesn't make it some kind of objective truth. Plenty of people earlier on in this very thread were extremely excited about the idea of having minis for the Mephisto/DE exclusive characters, it's not just me.

Agree 100% with Cookierobber. I would personally LOVE to have Mephisto minis!
Okay, this doesn't need to be an either or thing. I will be finishing the board terrain components for Talisman and in as much detail as I can. And I also do still plan to do a range of miniatures for characters from Mephisto/digital edition. The characters are a bigger undertaking and are more difficult to fit in around my games freelance work as I can only work on them in the evenings/weekends when I'm not boxing up orders. As things stand my current contract is up at the end of this month (it may get extended) so hopefully I'll have some more time to devote to Spare Oom from February.
I didn't realise there was a crossover with Mage knight and if there is a market for bespoke components then I'll happily take a look at it.

Haha, this made me chuckle, thanks Kate, I think you may have maxed out on the puns there, can anybody top that?
. I'll take the Dragon Flagon everytime.

Thanks Roger, always good to hear that
Got a little offbeat suggestion for you Leavon. How about a Talisman dice shaker cup. As there is nothing to directly model it on, you can run wild with your artistic influence. What are everyone else's thoughts on this?

I like it! I'll give it some thought.....
