Star Wars: Dark Times - Bounty Hunting Doesn't Pay OOC

By Sincereagape, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game

Understood!

Doh. I posted the wrong version of the post 😵

few other points:

—-ultimately I want you guys to be victorious. However I want to make it as dramatic as possible. I’m not gunning for a TPK. I want to make it as challenging as possible.

—-this down time will be used for investigation, finding/spending credits, spending exp, upgrading items, gathering into to help you guys prepare etc.

—rabo and tramp have both signed off on playing together nd I have a good feeling about it.

—maul Will be using the optional nemesis rule of acting twice in a round. During Its normal initiative slot and at the very end of the round. This will continue even if there are less than four PCs “standing”.

—if Maul is defeated. It might “survive” unless you guys legit kill it on th crit chart 151 and above or end is nigh with no medical help....hat way it can survive for other stories 😈

@Bellona - no problem on Navi having knowledge of Maul. She has knowledge lore and outer rim ranks so she should have some idea. Great roleplaying! Can’t wait to see Wes progas response. Navi is adorable!

@MrTInce mvp mvp mvp!!

@Edgehawk unofficial leader of the group! Han with the luck!

@LaGouache - what can I saw Wes is my favorite! Glad he finally got a roll!!

@Tramp Graphics - I’m really digging kurokage!

Sounds fun.

Spent 10xp on Toughened. Using 5xp I had banked for 1 rank in Ranged Heavy.

Picking up a "Subduer-9" Riot Blaster, w/ forearm grip and weapon sling.

Adding load-bearing tactical vest to cover encumbrance.

If someone could spot me 800 credits I could buy some jump boots...

(Navi has less than 200 credits to her name, and she needs to save up for a better blaster ... or find one somewhere.)

5 XP has now been spent on Ranged - Light skill rank 1.

I am currently eyeing a 5 XP Grit talent for the remaining 5 XP.

Didn't we get paid for our last job?

Checking Navi's finances ... her starting money was:

500 (character creation)

+1,000 (for taking more Obligation, although that cause might change)

+72 (the d100 roll)

+1,000 (portion of the previous bounty)

= 2,572

Minus the gear = 7 credits available.

She had to forego the 6,000 credits offered in the beginning by the GM. (In return for a pretty crystal - which is still just a crystal.)

So no vast untapped financial reserves here, alas! :)

ETA: I corrected the bounty portion and the final credits available. I will adjust Navi's gear to reflect the fact that she has only 2 stimpacks.

Corrected bounty portion.

@MrTInce @Bellona @Edgehawk @LaGouache @Tramp Graphics - 1,000 credits each for bringing in Zig and Zag alive . To be fair Kurokage and Navi were not there. But we can say they still received a portion of the bounty if the others are okay with it. Corr Halcard aka @oneeyedmatt87 was there and played a big part in the story so the bounty will be split with Corr. I'm also thinking/hoping Matt will be back later when life slows down for him. I plan to continue this campaign after this session under another guise :)

-A skill check has to be made for finding gear. At the moment the rarest item are the aratech r82 jump boots (unless there are others) with a rarity of 6. Nar Shaddaa is a mid-rim world so that adds plus 1 to the rarity and not along any major trade route. For a total of rarity 7 (Hard difficulty).

Officially it is a negotiation check. I will also allow Knowledge Underworld (Because it is Hutt Space). Everyone gains 2 boost dice for having Taquib. Fitz Deckard has one setback dice applied to his roll b/c Deckard has heat on Nar Shadda according to character bio (I know unfinished business was not triggered), but I think it makes sense from a narrative stand point. All characters may make the check (Beware of disadvantages).

-You guys do not need to make checks for each item. Only the item with the highest rarity rate, if that check succeeds then all other items are obtained without a roll.

Edit: Thank you for updates on exp spent :)

-At the moment the negotiation check/knowledge underworld check is a hard with 2 boost (and 1 setback for Fitzy). You guys are up on Destiny points 6 LS to 4 DS.

Thank you for everyone mentioning how they spent their exp.

A crystal that is worth a lot on the black market!

Wait a minute, we have a jedi in the group. Shall we sell him ;)

I'm going to use the Bought Info talent to secure a Success, paying a finder's fee of 150 credits.

Not unheard of for the Ragnar Syndicate ... apparently they specialised in bringing in Force-users/Jedi according to their entry in Wookiepedia.

So we sell him, get the credits and then break him out. >:D

If he wasn't there and he wasn't involved in the capture, he shouldn't get and of the reward.

I have no shame (and my character is desperate for the cash), so Navi was "sort of" along for that mission, maybe guarding the Zepto while the others were chasing Z+Z in Mos Shuuta.

Before we screenwipe or anything, Navi would like to take one of the swords which the acolytes were using (assuming that she doesn't get any bad vibes from it).

And shouldn't we investigate the cultists' and their ship on Pylon 2 ... assuming that local LEOs don't bother to turn up?

Always good to loot the bodies.

Clues, I tell you, clues! :D

Is there anything worth finding on the bodies?

@Bellona - When Navi picks up an ancient sword, there is no bad mojo to it. It comes across as a well forged ancient sword (Normal stats from F&D core).

@MrTInce -

  1. Each acolyte has 150 credits on them.
  2. Each acolyte has an ancient sword.
  3. You manage to find 2 stim-packs.
  4. 1 General Purpose Scanner
  5. 1 pair of binders

-The apartment the acolytes occupied reveals 5 mattresses, and one computer terminal used for 'listening in on messages' (Not sure what equipment is used off hand).

Taquib looted one acolyte (Sorry), one of them fell off the speeder and plummeted deep down into the Nar Shaadda atmosphere. Leaving 4 ancient swords and 600 credits to split between you. Each ancient sword nets 200 credits on the current Nar Shaadda market (May make a hard negotiation check to increase that to 250 credits each).

-Hard computer or skullduggery check to break into the Pylon 2 hanger. Characters can also roll a hard athletics check with one upgrade to kick down the door. OR, Wes Proga can use his LS to burn through the door without any check (Maybe stealth of two reds, not needed unless you guys want to for fun).

-Kurokage has one of the acolytes as a hostage.

Kr'owk will get his droids to gather up the swords to sell on behalf of the group and doll out credits so 280 each if my maths is correct?

Navi would like to keep one sword for practice, if no one objects. It could be sold by the group at a later date when she's ready to upgrade to something better.

Sounds good to me.

@Edgehawk Going to say the Triumph on the skullduggery roll to get into Pylon 2 hanger results in the group being able to conduct activity in there without drawing any type of attention.

The room opens to reveal a small hanger (Just large enough to fit a Silhouette 4 ship). There is no star ship present. However there are 3 Mobquat Flare-V Swoop Bikes (Chronicles of the Gatekeeper).

A small control/computer panel right in front of electronic windows that have been shuttered. There is also a locked storage hold.

-Average Perception check to see anyone notices anything else.

-Hard computer check to access the computer/control panel.

-Hard skullduggery or computer check to open the storage hold.

(Remember you can provide boosts and skilled assists to each other).

@Bellona - Navi feels a disturbance in the force upon entering the hanger. Best way I can describe it is "Repulsion" like opening up a refrigerator only to find month old leftovers that have not been cleaned out.
