It sorta does this already. Only skills that have the same setting or all or no setting attached are displayed.

Conceptually, what's the difference between "All" and "No Setting"?

With the "Custom Talents"...is there (will there) be a way to make multiple skills Career Skills? Or is that wish-listed? I also saw someone else ask if anyone had "stuff" to import yet...or if there’s a (future planned?) repository?

Custom talents....modifier 'yes'....career skills....select as many career skills as you want.

Not sure what you mean by "stuff". Rule of thumb is if your being vague because you're worried that is t might be inappropriate, it's probably inappropriate and you shouldn't ask.

There isn't one. In the code they do the same thing

By "stuff" I meant home-brew talents, archetypes, skills, gear...etc. Nothing inappropriate. ? But you are correct about being specific...so...ahem...Is there a repository or planned repository for the home-brew goodies (talents, archetypes, careers, etc) that other kind folks want to share? ?

lolz, sorry. i should always assume the best of people. I'd suggest people start attaching the export files to the settings that they post here or on the wiki. that way setting and files remain under the control of the owner of the setting

not much to add except well done!!

Love this!

2 questions 1. It looks like there is a way to make a custom talent to make career skills but I do not see the career option after selecting Modifier > Attribute > modified value (no career option)

2. I cannot seem to find how "enable" or see tier 2 talents even though I have 2 or more tier 1's. Maybe it it is something simple.

Also, if you purchase a talent then clear it, the stub (the box that showed the talent) seems to remain as inactive. For instance if you chose parry and it appears, the box next to it appears as well as the potential rank 2 of parry. When you clear it, it does not remove itself but stays as a ranked talent. This is minor but thought I would mention it.

1. Career skills is under 'modifier value' towards the bottom. (its not alphabetically sorted). Once you select 'Career Skills' a new field will appear to select skills.

Talents are auto populated but what tier your clicking into and what previous ranks you have. If you click on a tier 2 slot, only tier 2 talents and ranked tier 1 with a previous rank show up.

Clearing talents is wonky, I'll fix it at some point.

Gear now has a "Quantity" field, input a number and itll auto calc encumbrance and any other modifier.

I have a request: Would it be possible for the Talent List to have a colored background to indicate whether the talent is Active or Passive? I think it would really help with the legibility of the sheet. Obviously, I'm nit-picking, so please don't take this as a complaint. Your generator is awesome and I love it.

@lbwoodard

Lemme check how that looks

Alright, this is a long explanation.

I wanna make it system where people who create a setting can easily make a setting export for the Emporium. They can include that export file with there setting and players can import it into the emporium and all the correct data point automatically load. (Archetypes, careers, skills, talents, etc)

This is the first part of that system.

Right now if you select "Fantasy" for your setting, the emporium will filter out anything that doesn't have "Fantasy" or "All" or a blank setting. which is ok, but not every setting will use all the 'All" data points. the skill 'Knowledge' being a good example of this.

This new update gives the user an option called "Strict" if you check the box only data items labeled with the selected setting will be displayed. "All" and blank will be excluded.

the next step of this is to make a setting tagger, that'll let creators easily tag all the default stuff with the setting label of their choice. Right now a creator would have to make custom items for each of the defaults with the new setting tag, which is too much of a pain.

sorry if these Q's have been asked already (I promise to read through this whole lengthy thread as soon as I have time outside of work).

  • Is there a way to display/print the Genesys symbols within Talent descriptions?
  • Since we already have a massive talent list being regularly updated by folks on this forum, has anyone added the information as a custom talent import file?

This is a wonderful utility, and I'm definitely going to point my group to use it once we're closer to playing.

[blue] [success] [failure] etc will print the icons in most of the fields

no one has stepped forward and posted a import for the talents lists as far as i know. I don't have the time to manage it.

thanks for the kind words!

Will there be (perhaps it’s on your ‘to do’ list) an advsaries creation tab? If not may I suggest it?

Oh, this is in the new update too

Thank you again for all of this.

A couple of questions for the moment:
I can't seem to add custom skills to weapons e.g. Melee (Light, Finesse) for a dagger. (I.e. it doesn't seem to stick/show up on the character sheet)

I also can't find ' modifier value', to change career skills. Is it on the main character page, or under one of the custom data tabs?

Once you make a custom skill in the custom Data tab you should be able to assign it to a custom weapon. But it needs to be don't under custom items.

The modifier value for career skills is also under custom items. You can make a custom career, talent, or item that grants a skill as career skill. Once you make the custom Data (let's say you make a custom career) you'd assign that career in the main character page.

Hmmm after typing that it is kinda confusing. Maybe I should do a twitch stream or something like that to explain everything and answer questions

Are you able to hide the built in talents? I can't imagine having to do so really, but wanted to at least ask. Being able to do so with other lists like skills is very nice.

the "strict" checkbox next to the settings selector will hide everything except items that specifically have the selected setting listed in their description. see this post a couple up for a slightly better description of that

OK, I promise to read everything before posting anything next time! The level of flexibility you've baked into the Emporium is insanely cool, by the way.

thanks, I figured with a generic-build-your-own -setting there will be a certain expectation of customization.

Bulks Setting marker!!!! the strict will be much more useful now
