Shrubbery! Wrong account! I didn't even know I had two until now! One minute.

Alright, I am new to all this, so I took the liberaty of rolling a few things to set the scene:

The scenario: http://orokos.com/roll/538072# , Construction Site (Lots of Dangerous Ground and Elvations)

Destiny Choice: http://orokos.com/roll/538074 : 90

I am not sure how to roll a Destiny pool off. So I guess I will chose... Dark. By the time I seen the light, I was already, a man.

" Ha, they sent a boy to do a mans job!" A husky voice rolled through the ground level of the skeleton of a building. Bright floodlights did their best to shine throughout, but in reality it was patchy at best with long shadows and dark corners everywhere you turned.

Out of one of these shadows steppes an Armoured figure, plates of some variety overlapping to form a flexible but tough shell. He looks Unarmed although something large seems to be hung from his back. A mercenary hired by the Black Sun to keep out unwanted guest it would seem.

Sorry about that! Still getting used to the RP style and the dice system. I will stick with this account; I had forgotten the password in the past and made a second. i will move the post to this one for completeness: Definately LordBritish!

Tonight was an uneventful night on the smugglers moon, Tanson scanned around the perimeter before slipping through the construction site entrance that had been forced open by a force unknown. Nar Shaddar was a place not particularly famed for it's construction schemes, most non-hutts lacked the authority for new projects with Black Sun being one of the few exceptions. With their wealth of connections, with and without the Hutt circle, black son had become one of the most powerful criminal enterprises the galaxy had ever heard. Once all the Casinos that surrounded that construction site, their bright Neon lights drawn into the darkness of leather trench coat, the bug eyed helmet glowed a faint gold as he scanned the afters; despite the small figure being exposed his composure was flawless.

With the Hutt/Black Sun war in full swing and Prince Xizor dead Vader's hand, that was no longer true. Shakedown's were happening all across this sector and Tanson was here to clear out Black Sun's workers so that the project could change hands. Simple; if only? Tanson cut a imposing figure but as his voice cut through the com his voice held youth; a boy who had barely become a man.

"Alright fella's parties over, this is now the property of Dei the Great! I'm sure most of ya aren't paid enough to run this ***** house of a project, nor enough to handle a Stryder, so scram if you don't want shades to be combing your corpse."

The young Rodian's effect seemed effective enough at first, the workers already cleared out yet his eyes were not fixed on them, another shadow towered over him to stand it's ground in the heart of the dark building. The Rodian seemed slight compared the man mountain, a small immature sigh echoed through the visor.

"Always one tough guy."

The Rodian slowed to spitting distance of the figure, seeming small, almost friendly in the way he spoke as a chuckle echoed through his visor.

"Well, that's funny, last I checked this entire planet is hutt property -"

The Rodian's hands was a blur of movement as snatched a palm blaster and lancer, the loud echoing blaster fire concealed the soft whisper of the true threat as the needle found it's mark. As the needle penitrated his skin, Racor Venom would seep into his skin and rob him of his strength.

"A pity your boss didn't pay the rent."

Does the poison need to cause damage to be effective? We will need to check since with a Soak of 7 it doesn't cause any damage.

I believe you have one extra success and one less Advantage if you choose to hit with the Lancer using 2 Advantage.

Edit: @LordBritish I checked and it definitely just requires a successful check, so Arrther needs to make a Daunting Resilience check now, give me a minute to roll

Edited by Richardbuxton

Ok so Arrther shrugs off the poison, the Threat is yours to spend.

So that's 3 Advantage from your original check and 1 Threat from my Resilience check to spend

(If the poison needed to damage to be effective, it would be effectively useless. Well, less useless then I expect. XD)

The Rodian immediately back peddled as he fired, his blaster turned from the Mando to the stacked bags of dried cerement that he shredded with precision fire, the bags toppled in a thick mist to create Difficult terrain for the mando this turn. As he fired the Rodian broke away and sprinted up the patch work stairs, reaching the first floor as he did so. Mildly cowardly? Yes, but at least he had the high ground!

(Spent 3 advantage to create difficult terrain, requiring two moves to get back into short range of Tanson. Used two moves to get to medium (-2 strain) with the understanding that this map is mostly difficult terrain. Don't worry, I wouldn't be using that trick all the time, I just figured it would be thematic not to get caught too easily. XD @Richardbuxton )

My spelling!

" Grrrrraaa " the frustration of being denied his opponent clear Arrther leaped up the incline, using brute strength to push forward through the dust and Blaster fire. The footing was loose and he had to strain to keep his balance, slowing him in his charge.

With rapid motion he activated the magnetic tether on his wrist and suddenly a neon blue light filled the space around them. Followed closely by his shield gracefully coming off his back an forming an expertly held defence. Eerie shadows danced of the walls as he carved a clean arc through the air with that glowing stick. This building was empty except for them, no one would report his Saber, no one would go crying to the imperials... "Get back here! What's your next move boy?"

(Spending 2 Strain for an additional manoeuvre. Using the first to move closer, but still at Medium. The second Manoeuvre will draw the shield, then using the Quick Draw mod of the Saber attachment to draw the Saber, and finally as an Action committing a Force Dice to Sense for defence henceforth upgrading all your attack checks twice. So that's 2 upgrades and 2 defence.)

The Rodian glanced down the stairs as he waited for first sight of his foe as the rubble cleared; though at first sight of his foe bursting through the Rodian sighed and tossed the palm shooter aside; poison was little use on a guy this tough. Though the next sight made the Rodian's calm composure crack; an ignition of blue, that continuous blade that caused the darkness to retreat in terror, the experiences impacted his brothers journal's only meant one thing.

"Kriffin' ****! JEDI?! Caravas!"

The Rodian cursed as he flipped open a vial and flicked it's contents open with a twist of the thumb and downed it to toss it aside with a second loud clatter; this was the worst possible situation describable, Tobin had fought and killed two of them, but each time it almost cost him his life meaning this stranger had turned from mere hired muscle to a grade A threat. The Rodian needed to use everything to escape alive.

As the BOOSTER BLUE kicked in the sharpening of his senses dulled his momentary panic. He needed to take control of the situation immediately. With that he drew his Nova Viper and leveled his blaster's at the advancing blue down the stairs.

"Well, let me tell you my next move like any good sportsman."

"I'm gonna shoot, and your gonna run into my bolts, child snatching scum!"

The Rodian opened up all Guns Blazing, the blistering rate of fire cut down the stairs to make it tough going. Seeing that this would be a tough job, Tanson decided not to chance a decisive confrontation here and took up to the next floor, cutting his line of sight on the Mandolorian, but giving some time to breathe. As he scanned he quickly found that he was rapidly running out of places to climb to, the stair well for this floor was unfinished; thus he was trapped in this jungle of concrete. Breath heavy from the exertion of sprinting up a flight in very short order.

"Damnit, cornered. This will have to be my last stand. Think Tanson think."

(The set trigger adds one success and cuts one advantage. So my combat result is a net 4 success. So Nova Vipers damage is 7+3 (Deadly Accuacy)+ 3 success = 14. Do you reflect?

TD.IR. Tanson discards the Palm shooter, shoots up booster blue and draws the Nova Viper. He opens up Tanson opens up with Guns Blazing (-2 stain) Hits (14 damage, you negate the pierce) and takes two moves (2 strain) to get to Long Range, though figuring it would be on the stairwell he would break line of sight at this point (Not hiding, just Tanson wouldn't be able to launch any attacks at long range this way.) I figured Tanson wouldn't be able to get any higher at this point, and I would probably consider any given floor to be medium range at best. is that agreeable? @Richardbuxton

And thank you! ^^)

I love writing extra details into the posts. Not good at rping, I just like descriptions. XD

"Stop running little boy, we need to have a proper talk here ..." Blaster bolts rip through the darkness ricocheting off of Arrthers fast moving Saber blade. Most crash harmlessly into the walls, are absorbed by his shield or occasionally clip his armour. Keeping up his relentless hounding is taking its toll though, wearing him out faster than he can probably maintain. But now with his enemy right in front again it's time to bring the fight to the Rodian. " You can't run, you can't hide ..."

(I'll suffer 3 Strain to Reflect to reduce the damage by 5, then Soak 7, taking a total of 3 Strain and 2 wounds. Then flip a Destiny Point to use Djem So Deflection and move 1 Move manoeuvre closer. Then for my turn I'll downgrade the action to a manoeuvre, with the two manoeuvres bringing him right back into Short range!)

More details

The young man turned to see the blue wall of light rise from beyond the stairwell like a wall of death; he had advanced much faster then Tanson had expected! The Rodian swiftly hoistered his lancer as he reached into his belt and drew a small disk, a soft hiss as the casket opened. He then waited. Waited, waited for the titan to round that top step marched, aiming his shot for that precise moment as he launched the disk the moment he came into clear view.

"Sure, I was getting tired of running anyway!"

I spend one destiny point to activate unmatched fortune, changing the double success to a Triumph. Resulting in 1 net success, 3 net advantage and a Triumph.

With *unmatched fortune* the Grenade struck the back of the mandolorian's arm, causing him to drop the saber involuntarily as the foam spread rapidly over it, the foam trapped both the mandolorian warrior and the lightsaber in a substance like concrete. Even if he freed himself; his blade would be held within the stone until someone worthy found it. Or the foam softened, whichever came first!

"Just I wasn't born strong; so I gotta take what I get. My brother always told me to play to my strength's, so that's exactly what I'm gonna DO!"

Tanson exclaimed under his helmet with child like glee; his mouth firing off as many rounds his pistol as he subjected the mandolorian to a one handed barrage; just Tanson made one error of judgment; he remained in short range of the mandolorian.

(Tanson aims and guns blazed; the end result being 1 success, 3 advantage and 1 Thirumph after Unmatched Fortune. The Triumph I will use to trap the Lightsaber in the foam; ensuring he would need a separate check to break it free. I will spend 2 advantage to hit with the Novaviper (11 damage total) and 1 to earn a boost dice for my next check.

I believe it's a formidable check to break out of a glop grenade. The Lightsaber will be liberated in 3 turns.

Oh and one more thing; make an easy coordination check, if you fail he will begin to suffocate )

With one simple action Arrther realises he significantly underestimated his foe. A grenade explodes with a crazy spray of foam grasping him and forcing him to drop his Saber amongst the mess. Struggle as he may he can't break free of the temporary prison, good thing that shield is still in his hands. " Nice move punk, probably something you will regret though"

(Nice! Ok so Arrther takes 4 more damage. Now he will try breaking free, he can't really do anything else.

(Ahhh alright dude, sorry to hear about that. I will just roll my next roll quickly so that you see what is to come.)

The mando still being held firm, the young Stryder's attack faltered; despite his best efforts he was unable to land a telling blow. The Mandolorian seemed to take absolutely everything he had thrown at him. His eye then noticed something...

"Oh right, I see now. A shield generator, didn't know they do them that small."

"That's why I couldn't hurt you. Figured you aren't so tough after all.

With that Tanson flurried his blasters and opened up, clipping off the exposed trinket to land on the group and without it's protection the mando was finally exposed. Not every shot found it's mark though; with the despair, Tanson began to take the initiative in putting some distance between he and the foe.

"Oh no..."

(Tanson Stryder opens up with another barrage, he misses but generated enough advantage to disarm the Mando of the talsmen and will use the rest of the advantages to recover 5 strain having recovered his composure. The result of the despair is up to you.)

(How's this for a use of the Despair: Flip a DP for there to be a hole in the floor covered in ply wood... the Despair is you shift the ply while standing on it and fall through the hole in the floor! Short range fall that puts you out of sight again and probably at least 2 manoeuvres to get back in range either by climbing or going around. Too much?)

That would be alright given I make a coodination check in response to falling to minimise damage. Though trust me, I'm not going back up those stairs to the mean guy with hte mean glowstick. XD I am not trying stall the combat resolution, but I figure even though Tanson isn't the sharpest tool in the box; he's not going to step up into a potentially fatal confrontation against a death blade.

Oh I was counting on that, I thought a little break was what we both need, a little space to catch our breath

(Aye, well, the break is what your character needed. XD Mine needed to keep the pressure on as there is no way to defeat yours in a straight on fire fight. The combination of a instant defeat weapon/hard shell makes every step really difficult.)

The Rodian toppled over backwards and rolled to his knees with a loud clatter; the fall took out what little wind the respite had put back into him

8 damage (4 of it soaked) and 8 strain. *sighs*

-Damnit, he will be breaking out in a minute, the foam only lasts so long... Unless-.

The Rodian drew his eye across the somewhat frail support beam as he jabbed a stim pack into himself and got to work; spending one manvourer preparing for a bit of skulduggery. The discarded blaster that he left on the floor would be the bait to lure the Mandolorian in; hopefully he had time before the hardening foam gave way.

0/12 wounds (after stim) 12/17 strain. and I was doing so well too.

" Haha! You should pay more attention to your surroundings Rodian thug" Arrther calls down with a growl from his prison in the foam duracrete. Near him he could still see the tip of his Sabers blade poking out of the giant mess of foam, slowly the blade sinking down through the tough material. What a joke this is, stuck here, your dad wouldn't think so much of you...

With effort he struggles again, trying hard to break free. First his one trapped arm, then his torso, a leg then the other leg " graahh " he breaks out and immediately retrieves his precious heirloom I've got it dad, I've still got it.

( Getting to you is proving to be a challenge, the lack of a second Force Dice really dictates the strategy, either full defensive or full offensive there isn't an in between.

Anyway he succeeded in breaking free, and spent his free manoeuvre to retrieve the talisman, tucking it inside his pocket.

I forgot to change the description again, but you can check my roll history if you want to make sure

Hello, sorry I had my session today. ^^ Kinda drained, will respond sometime tomorrow after work.

Hello, I am setting a trap. Nothing much but difficult terrian; possibly a collapsing trap on a thrumph; what difficulty? Your perception vs Skullduggery?

Vigilance is more appropriate since I won't be actively looking for the trap.

Skulldugery, Survival or Mechanics all work for trap setting.

Alright, here we go.

The Rodian fumbled as he got to work; the beauty of construction work was that all the base components was exposed so it was quite trival to losen a bolt here and there; the cracking of the breaking glop foam inspired him to work faster. The plan was simple as he took a move back to the far end of the building from the staircase (one move to medium). A few obvious dodgy hanging scaffolds to give him direction, leading a patchy floor that he covered with tarp; it would only take one wrong foot to lose his leg for a second. That would be enough.

"Come on child snatcher; I'm right here. In the name of my brother, your blade will claim no one else."

He began to fire; ineffectively at first. He needed to see the whites of his eyes before he gambled this all on one last exchange.

(Basically, difficult terrain; I inflict 2 strain to you. Given I don't have line of sight to you it's the best I could come up with. The firing is purely narrative with the Nova Viper. @Richardbuxton )

Edited by LordBritish

Where's that dam Rodian got to now... blasts he better not damage too much or I'm getting no pay this week . Arrther kicked away at the rapidly degrading glop trying to get to his Saber, it would be easy to accidentally kick that blade so he was being rather careful.

Downstairs was suspiciously quiet given the Rodians tenacity so far, he's probably got himself a lovely position to shoot at me when I drop down there . Let's see if I can't find another way down . Looking around the site the Gank spots a ledge he could jump down from to try and surprise his unwelcome site visitor.

Bloody glop! Hope he doesn't have another one of those things. He stops trying to feel the Rodian near him, it's not working enough anyway, time for different tactics. " You still here little friend? I'm coming to get you! "

(Arrther kicks away at the glop, the Saber will be free next turn so there's no need to actually roll, he will use the magnetic weapon tether to pick it up as an incidental next round. The stuff about looking for another way down is just narrative, it won't bypass your fortifications but Arrther is not silly enough to just keep following the leader. Finally to end the round I'm uncommitting the dice from Sense.)
