Jailbird and the Desperadoes OOC

Would negotiation work? As in, we come to an agreement that we both (assumption here) have things that we would rather not come before the Hutt/Hutts?

If it doesn't I would probably go with that neither of our interests are served by fighting here (charm?? Since its appealing to his better nature... in a way).

You can try any of the social skills depending on how you intend to do it. Post ic and roll here without difficult whatever skill you choose I'll roll his opposing skill after.

Short and sweet (I hope).

Let's see what the dice say...

Talking Them Down (Negotiation) : 4eA 2 successes, 1 advantage
a-s.png a--.png a--.png a-s-a.png

ehh.... if someone is looking forward to a fight, this may be your chance.

Can Dex make a Cool check, when he rounds the corner to find a blaster in his face? Maybe he notices something that could help defuse the situation.. or something he could use if it cannot be defused..?

Difficulty : 2eD+1eS 1 failure, 1 threat
d-th.png d--.png s-f.png

So you passed. He has his blaster on you but he's letting you talk instead of shooting you.

Still Talking (Negotiation) : 4eA+3eD+1eS 3 failures, 1 advantage
a-s.png a-a.png a-a.png a-a.png d-f-f.png d-th.png d-f-th.png s-f.png

Well... that would seem to be that. Can the advantage mean that Caess knows the man is not persuaded and get a boost die on initiative, if it comes to that?

Yup, however everyone else make a vigilance initiative check with a setback

Is this reply directed to Dex or Caess?

Vigilance initiative in an alleyway : 1eA+1eP+1eS 1 success, 1 advantage
a-a.png p-s-s.png s-f.png

Kaz suffers a point of strain to add an extra seccess with his rapid reaction talent from a Cybernetic. So 2/1 for him

Edit: I stupidly forgot I have the Farsight Upgrade that adds Kaz’s Force rating to Vigilance and Perception, so I rolled it separately here:

Forgotten Force Dice for Vigilance : 1eF 2 Dark Side
f-ds-ds.png

Ill hold on deciding to use that dark side until the full Initiative list is rolled, this doesn’t seem the most important fight to go first on.

So since I'm not sure which Caess is supposed to roll, I rolled both Cool and Vigilance.

Well I tried... (Cool) : 1eP+3eA+1eB 2 successes, 4 advantage
p-a.png a-a.png a-s-a.png a--.png b-s-a.png

Well I tried... (Vigilance) : 1eP+1eA+1eS+1eB 2 successes, 1 threat

I was basically inquiring if I could roll a cool ? check for grace under pressure, calm under fire.. try to use his Cool to his advantage, in some way..?

Description Vigilance initiative
Results 2eA+1eS : 0 successes, 1 advantage [2eA=A, S] [1eS=F]

Ok so i was directing that at imperial...

Dex ill comprise, everyone else is vigilance, ill let you roll cool instead if you want... But those in front of ypu arnt technically the ones initiating this... You'll still get a setback on the cool check.

Description Cool ? init
Results 3eP+1eS : 1 success, 3 advantage, 1 Triumph [3eP=A/A, Tr, S/A] [1eS=F]
p-a-a.png p-tr.png p-s-a.png s-f.png

Copy pasta: link

edit to add (from core rulebook): A character who generates a (Triumph) result during a Cool check has not only stood unflinching as chaos erupts around him, but has actually come away better for it.

This is essentially what I was going for. Does the Triumph count for anything?

Give me a suggestion...

My understanding.. not sure where it's from, though.. is that initiative triumphs can grant an out-of-turn free maneuver? Maybe Dex's spidey senses were tingling as he rounded the corner, and he was already drawing his own blaster? A faceoff might put us in a better situation than being caught completely flat footed, at gunpoint.

Perfectly reasonable.

Where exactly is everyone at this point?

Dex is within short range of the Aqualish the Disfigured man is in a speeder alao at short range of Dex.

Caess is engaged with Dex having come around the corner immediately afterwards.

Everyone else?

The 2 minion group moves from short to engaged of dex and caess

The others Decrainiated are short of both dex and the group behind them.

Kaz is hot on everyone’s heels, I’m guessing Short from Dex and Caess.

so what’s the actual initiative order? Looks like 3 NPC first

So far...

@Cartergame roll me vigilance with a set back!

Vigjlance
Results 2eP : 2 successes [2eP=S/S, -]
p-s-s.png p--.png

Also, I would argue against the setback die because Kai was intentionally hanging back, being unobtrusive and laying low, and sitting quietly and separate to specifically watch out for an ambush.

I'll buy that argument...

Ok now we have the turn order

Aqualish w/ 4 successes

Disfigured man w/3 successes

Decrainiated 1 w/ 3 successes

@Richardbuxton w/ 2 successes and 1 adv

@Cartergame w/ 2 successes

@Imperial Stormtrooper 2 successes and 1 threat

@Edgehawk w/1 success 3adv and a triumph

Decrainiated 2 w/ 1 success 2 adv and a triumph

And I'm placing the arriving speeder/driver last

Or npc npc npc pc pc pc pc npc npc

So the Aqualish and the group of two decraniated minions (group 2) will attemp to guide y'all into the speeder that pulled up, will you resist?

Imperial was right
