I was expecting this show to be a bit more darth sidious err i mean dark and serious than what i've seen from the clips so far.

Sigh... after ROTJ things went downhill...

It has an entire season to get dark. Chill.

Clone wars started out really badly but found a good footing after the first season, since many of the people who worked on that are on this too I imagine things will pan out okay

Indeed for troops that were "the best in the galaxy" they have never been able to hit the main characters, but then the whole thing would be over now wouldn't it... sure Leia got hit in RotJ, but it was a scratch...

The good guys have to win so the bad guys are made to look the fools. This Rebels series looks fun and lighthearted.. but there is always the underlying plots.. and bad guys dieing. Same old theme, brand new Star Wars story. I'll be watching, just for the entertainment.

Well I do have to agree here, but The Empire is pretty strict about protocol.

A super cool gang of rag tag awesome heroes fight baddies from their spaceship. Who thinks that's bad?

If the bad guys are absolutely no threat then whats the point?

Mal and crew were awesome because they were the underdogs and had to be smart... after watching the clips I wonder how this ragtag crew havent conquered the galaxy.

Or why the fruit vendor in the beginning of the clip was so frightened of the pair of Storm Troopers - good grief, the way Zeb handled something like 20 of them ON HIS OWN, the fruit vendor with droid sidekick could *easily* have taken down the two that were questioning him.

Isn't Rebels a cartoon for kids? I mean... should an adult be upset about a cartoon for kids?

I'm concerned about the recent trend in cartoons to show combat situations as fun and danger-free. And clips like this really amp that to 11, with the apparent 'as long as you are really cool and wisecracking, you not only will always win, but bad guys can't even hurt you!' I suppose it's that whole "no consequences" angle that I find particularly grating in a "kid's show", as I'd argue the most important thing to have a kid learn - the most basic thing that, failing teaching them anything else, having picked up that one thing would allow them to at least function as adults (even if poorly)...would be "actions have consequences". Even as an elementary concept - and I get that this isn't some kind of educational/morality show or anything like that, so I'm not saying it has to really force the topic all the time...but the contrary position of openly mocking that idea...no, do not like.

I like the way they say "Mando gear" in this one, likes it's totally a think everyone knows about.

Sabine is a badass. Also those guys were trying to debilitate and stun. Also it turns out her age is 16.

Storm troopers don't suck.

In the OT the only ones they can't seem to kill are ewoks (tho thankfully we get to see one die)

and named character/main.....it's just story/plot armour in those cases.

Obiwan correctly states "only imperial storm troopers are so precise"

Look at the beginning of ANH, they storm a ship from a position of weakness with nothing but some smoke and procede to slaughter rebel scum like a hot knife through butter.

Same with hoth and many other (not all) where a name wasnt involved.

They are regulars and still screw up and run away from screaming smugglers but WOW, that is just weak. How slow they are and the reactions of them you would think they are 80 years old under the suits..... WEAK. I mean COMON, their first 2 shots at an UNAWARE target are like 20 feet up in the air.....

When I was a kid storm troopers were one of my iconic images of star wars, tho it wasn't because they suck...

Anyway... Back to OT.... Very few non Jedi could stand up to imperial storm troopers like that.... I fear my rebel killing faves are now forever stuck in "red shirt" fodder land....

That's because ewoks are badass! I wonder how many storm troopers got cooked and eaten after the battle of Endor.

Remember that ewok playing drums on the trooper helmets? I always imagined the heads were still inside.

I wish I had it but there was this great comic from dark horse that told how the troopers lost on endor from the perspecive of a shaken and scarred veteran.

It really played up the Vietcong inspiration to disturbing levels.

I really don't get this line of thinking. Just because you don't enjoy a show doesn't really have any effect on ships that may come from the show to this game? Did everyone play those TIE Fighter vs X-Wing games? I don't see any hate for the Defender. It's just a ship that came from a Star Wars related source. This is the same thing.

If you don't like the show, who really gives a f%$&! It will have zero impact on your playing experience.

Making the Empire look like a joke is a bad idea, weak villain syndrome always ruins a film or a show.

The less competent the bad guys the less impressive the heroes look because anyone can defeat a bunch of clowns.

It would be cool if this cartoon ended up being as good as Avatar: The Last Airbender. I will have to withhold judgement until the first s season is out. Im still trying to soldier my way through Clone Wars.

I like it. I think it looks like Clone Wars did, will start with a bit of comedy, more than you would like maybe, but will eventually get into darker themes once the characters are established. I can more than live with the in-between leading up to what I hope the series will be, especially in the OT era.

I respect your right not to like it op, you are totally entitled to your opinion and preference... but you should also accept that others feel very differently than you do... ultimately, no one HAS to watch or buy anything... frankly I think all the new ship designs I have seen for rebels are better than the hwk and e-wing anyways personally.

The only advice I would give if there were any you could take, would be to give it a chance for a few episodes before getting too riled.

Rebels, like Clone Wars, is a show for kids. It's going to contain G-Rated violence and sophistication. And.... it will be DRIPPING with morality lessons. This is a cartoon show, by Disney, that is specifically targeted at young kids. I still don't understand why there are adults who are comparing it to the original trilogy (which was aimed more at young adults).
