Is it bad that before, I didn't really give a **** about Hera in terms of attractiveness but the moment she K-turned and shot down a TIE in a friggin' 50m ship, I was like, "oh goodness yes."?
Is that wrong? Is that bad? I feel like it should be but...
Somewhat-OT: That new "Rebels" TV series is looking so AWFUL it pains me to think we'll be getting ships from it
Remember these are garrison stormies. They're probably a little out of practice.
Not to mention the Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy ain't named that for nothing.
I'm still waiting for the Empire to figure out what a buttstock is.
Fortunately, there seems to be no recoil, so all they have to worry about is getting killed by heroes.

I see what some of the guys are saying about this show, it is not a super Avengers Epic billion $$$ story, nah.
It is still very much a REAL STAR WARS Story... and that is all it needs to be.

Honestly, i can't recall a single Star Wars movie where Storm troopers were ever remotely competent on screen.
One walks into a door in ep 4
A whole group run away from Han in ep 4
They can't hit Luke or Leia 10 feet away while trapped in a doorway in ep 4
They get easily handled on Bespin in ep 5
In ep 6 there are Ewoks, and what happens there is 1000x more egregious than anything in those shorts.
Get over it. Maybe Star Wars, in is entirety, isn't for you. This isn't Star Wars Begins, they aren't going to talk with a gravelly voice.
I like the way they say "Mando gear" in this one, likes it's totally a think everyone knows about.
Sabine is a badass. Also those guys were trying to debilitate and stun. Also it turns out her age is 16.

Precisely! Also glad I'm not the only one.
I mean there's a reason I got it bad for Jan Ors.
But yes. This show looks very good.
This is just...GAH...*terrrible*
...I mean, the mind-boggling level of incompetence of the stormtroopers is just beyond words. And nearly worse is the comically detached attitude of the main character - he's being shot at and has all the emotional involvement in his own LIFE as someone playing a video game...
It's really...grating.
Are you feeling ok? Star Wars rebels is badass! I keep watching the 3 min teasers on XD!
A whole group run away from Han in ep 4

Remember they were deliberately letting them escape in Episode 4 though.
Which is precisely why they sent Storm troopers to catch them. Even the empire knows they're worthless
I feel sorry for the Stormtroopers. Only reason they keep getting owned is because they refuse to shoot someone in cold blood. And his blaster was on stun!
Who's the real bad guy, huh?
Edited by LagomorphiaWait, you haven't learned that lesson from watching the clone wars or the clone wars animated? or before that from watching Droids or Ewoks?
Guess I've been justified in ignoring this so far and can continue to do so. That artstyle has NEVER worked for SW.

I don't recall Zep shooting the leaking oil.
Also, everybody knows rebels are terrorists.

Heh.
Show looks worse every time I watch another part of it on YouTube. I completely agree with the OP. Fair enough, make it a kids show, but don't make it stupid.
So... Should have been arrested and locked up and....the end?
Or what? What isn't stupid, should there have just been one Storm Trooper so it was easy for him?
A few less Stormtroopers perhaps. Or a more enclosed space so his close combat would be more effective than their blasters. But mostly just not had the pilot stood staring at him with a gun in his hand on the radio for 5x longer than it would take to shoot him when he's STOOD STILL RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM.
I get it that Stormtroopers have never been great, but that's no reason to decrease their competence even more. The guy could've been stood completely still, unarmed, in the open, and the Stormtroopers in this video STILL wouldn't have been able to hit him. When they're that bad, the whole thing just becomes a joke. Even kids deserve better than this.

Do you have any clue how much damage E-11s DO!? Just shooting him would have freaking killed him.

The Art Attack one. Stormtrooper has the TIE-vandalising rebel scum and doesn't shoot. When his blaster goes off when he's attacked it's on Stun.

They couldn't hit Luke or Leia 10 feet away while they're trapped in a doorway with no cover. This is on par with the way they have ALWAYS been.

And the issue with that is what? He'd just killed several Stormtroopers... pretty sure the pilot wouldn't have been reprimanded for not taking him alive.
Kids will enjoy the show, as will some adults. Many others won't like it, or simply not care.
The sun rises and the sun sets, but there is nothing new beneath it.
This thread is odd to me. The premise is that the Imperials are overly incompetent, but as far as the movies go, do we see them do literally anything right? Tarkin's an arrogant idiot who not only bungles finding the rebel base but allows himself, a key military asset (sorta, hes in charge of that station, but doesn't really seem to make any good choices) to be taken out, the troopers fail to capture 5 people and 2 droids on their OWN super badass space station, they fail to release what I assume would have been nearly uncountable squadrons of TIE fighters in order to protect said station, allowing 18 or however many rebel fighters there are destroy it and thats just the Laurel and Hardy/Three Stooges level shenanigans in the first flick.
Lets face it, Star Wars has always been closer to myth/comic book then reality. The good guys are always the supreme badasses and the badguys are always incompetent. The EU switched this around, somewhat, but who knows where they'll go with it know.
Also, as pointed out earlier, this doesn't look like a planet that warrants even decent troopers, let alone good ones.
I have been extremely unimpressed by the Rebels series since the first few previews. Cartoonishly bumbling stormtroopers aside, I really don't like the trend for human characters to act more like humans from modern-day Earth, and for so many alien characters to speak and act just like the humans do. It all feels way more like a Pixar movie than anything Star Wars. it's not really a new trend, but it's really not my thing. I might check it out initially but if it's as cringe-inducing as all the promotional material has been I might just pass on it altogether.
No point arguing about it though, if people want to watch it that's their thing. I'm not too keen on the idea of bringing stuff from it into X-Wing though, but I don't really think they will, aside from ships that appeared in other materials that might also appear more prominently in Rebels

Tarkin let them go, there is no evidence every Storm trooper was in on it.
So, were they just letting 3 foot tall pooh bears kill them with rocks and twigs so the emperor could be killed? All just part of the plan?
I recall that being some if the emperors best troops as well, as he had them waiting for the rebels.

You don't understand anything anything about Insurgencies do you? You try to apprehend people like this, and find out what they're doing and why.
I was expecting this show to be a bit more darth sidious err i mean dark and serious than what i've seen from the clips so far.
Sigh... after ROTJ things went downhill...
