I will most definitely be ordering some stuff from you once the private store is up, your work is fantastic but shapeways pricing has made me hesitant to order.

Likewise! I’ve got the asteroids set but couldn’t ever quite make the leap to the space station. Once your store is up though....

Hi everyone, I just got my printer today :)

I want to keep this topic focus on modeling and miniature so for all things related to 3D print you can check OnilCreations on Facebook or send me a pm.

Have a nice weekend, here in Québec its our national day.

ps: s'il y a des Québécois sur le forum Bonne Saint-Jean !

Will you run it out of Facebook, or is there going to be an etsy shop or some other way to see potential products and place orders?

Thanks

It is not my favorite solution but for now I will use Fb shop to display a list of my models (I will slowly remove them from Shapeways) once the transfer will be done I will make a catalog (pdf) for people who dont like/have fb. Eventualy I might move to the website solution but right now It would be to much time consuming to setup. The thing is I will not sell the models, but offer a printing service for my models on demand.

Example: You want a Mercy class( I will only offer the larger one) , debris, couple ext racks and a mc 80. you will just have to contact me. I will then send you all the informations (disponibility, print quality, cost , etc)

Hope this answer your questions.

If anyone want more detailed information plz send me a pm !

Someone talked to me and was concerned about the britleness of resin printed mini, I was aware of that issue and that is why I use some engineering grade resin (did my first test print today) its an asteroid long arm support: 65607910_384647288829311_682697041100406

It break when I almost fold it on itself like 175 degree, thicker part 2mm and over give the feeling of hard injection mold plastic with clear acrylic finish.

Wow! I have been shopping around for something like this. What printer and resin did you order?

Also, what 3D modeling software do you use?

Feel free to answer in pm if you don't want to clutter up this thread.

Some more test done today.

Printed at 0,05mm thickess (standard) great details, like I expected I will have to do a little rework of my models to get better result.

@cynanbloodbane I will send you a pm with all the information.

Hi. Love the look of your products. You wouldn't by chance offer painted versions of asteroids/stations, even at an upcharge? I think I can guess your answer, I'm just a horrible painter!

Testing phase done, July I will be finish debris field, printing and rework my models starting with the station. August starting production of some models and I will be operational around the mid of august !

yesterday test, station underside, I'm getting nice result :)

just wanted to edit previous post but its not working, station underside primed :

Hi everyone, I'm so happy! we get tons of great news for Armada this week, and I will add some. I have completed the station modification and some other models too, and now I that I have my printing guideline it will be easier for me to make stuff in the future !

Sample of models that meet my quality criteria (I will only print the large station, cr90 is there for scale)

You can notice that some models will come in kit, I do it that way because I can produce thing with a 99% perfect surface finish.

Some update on whats going on, I ve been working on solution for the scenery base and came out with a magnetic solution, the concept work great(metal disc on the base and magnet in the peg).

I can now also add the mc 80 to the valid print I can make, on the left is my first prototype (I wanted to hide the assembly line in the existing hull plating but it ended to hard to square) the second one is way better and the final version will be near perfection.

some of you may have noticed the change on my shapeways shop. What is left is only what I did not modified yet, with the exception of the new shield dial and peg extender I made for ssd, both will only be available on shapways (versatile plastic is still cheaper than resin).

I m almost done with the mc 80 debris, still have to make a lot of modification to the tibanna platform and the satellites. so to not rush anything I push back my opening to september, meanwhile those who manifested interest in my making you can send me some sort of wishlish via pm.I mostly want to know about station A or B ,debris, asteroids and mc80 as they are the longest print. This will help me plan my pre-production.

Those of you who prefer imperial themed debris I might be able finish them in 2 or 3 month.

After a long wait and alot of work on my side(roughly 1400hr and 760 coffee) the mc 80 debris are done and materialized !

Almost done with x-rack and btl-170 modification and "new ugly" coming to my collection !

Like I promised a new ugly the X-torrent, this one is for you @cynanbloodbane ;) (note that all following picture came from a failled print session, still tuning parameter for that resin mix).

Btl-170 I feel it still need some slight adjusment mostly the wing span and tickness.

an improved X-rack mod the original is in the back.

Back to the satellite file I did some rework and new modular design with more attachment variant, still need to make some improvement.

I have fulfilled a first "test" order and getting feedback, making amelioration on some models !

Updated todo list on first post.

It's now official, I will start to take orders on september 25 (waiting a resin shipment to begin).
Some update:
I modified almost all my existing models (tibanna WIP), to accommodate the printer I use, and I make improvements over the whole collection. Mostly to ease assembly and painting, smaller escape holes (.5mm and under), interchangeable modules on the satellites, etc.

One of the biggest improvement I made, based on feedback, is the new way the debris rear chunk is put together (picture 1 show the early design, pictures 2 to 4 show the new design).
DaE5yfd.jpg

My prints will be made in 3 different resins, some are custom mix, each designed to perform best in their application (base and supports, small miniatures, large miniatures). I'm still working on my order form and the assembly guides. overall, the whole project is making good progress.

Now the way things will work, if you want to get your hand on my creations, you will have to contact me (FB, shapeways or ask for my email in a pm). I took the decision to do it this way, because I want to keep control and flow of the orders at a manageable level. I think you will all understand I'm just a man with a 3D printer, the post processing task take time and is mostly handicraft. I will probably get additional printers in the future, as I really enjoy this new domain.

Some of you already know it, but I want to say it openly. Since the begin of this adventure, a little more than a year ago, my primary goal was to share my work with the armada community and not making ton's of profit. This is why I have never and will never ask a dime for the modelling time or the "models". In fact, if it was possible, I would give them away. But we are in real life and these have a cost to produce. Where I want to go, is if you get in touch with me, consider me more like a friend who can print awsome minis rather than a shop. The reason I'm not giving or sharing the .stl files is a bit personal, I got bad experiences in the past in another project and I learned my lesson.

Once again, thanks for your support!

Those look great! You had mentioned earlier that you were thinking of doing a VSD I model, is that still the case? I would love to have a couple of those as well!

Yes, Both ship and debris variant, my target is to finish them before the end of 2019.

can't wait for you to start selling, I absolutely will take your debris, station and mc80, to go with your asteroids I bought from sahpeways 🤩

This is awesome! Love the space station.

I will be posting full painting guides and pictures for the models I have been working on when I’m all done, but here are a few progress pictures for now. These models are absolutely incredible, full of detail, and LinoB has been making a few changes based on some suggestions I had that should make painting them even easier for the people that order them after me.

This was the last model I modified, the gas refinery. It was quite challenging to print, with all the upside down cityscape, so I split it in more parts. I personally find the printed result look pretty good.

Well, I think it took me longer to get time to post pictures of @LinoB 's creations than it took him to get them to me! Better late than never though. The detail is beautiful, and the material is as good or better than anything I have received from Shapeways! Now I just need to make time to paint them.

Love the magnetic stands! More than strong enough to support the model, and the most elegant solution to the reversible base question.

@LinoB

With RitR out are you planning on creating Purgil, Exogorths, and the Gravity Rift obstacles? I know you are busy designing and testing your current inventory and the the Imperial debris ships, but perhaps after those are complete, if we ask really nicely, would you be willing to look at thw new ones too?

@Cap116 Everything I plan for the future is listed on the first post of this topic, but yes RitR obstacles are planned, it will just take some time. Only the Gravity Rift might be skip, since I cannot see a real good way to make a 3D black hole.

There is also a bunch of other model I'm thinking about that are not on the list, one of them will be revealed this weekend!

Awesome, thanks!

I missed the update on the original post - also, I am excited to see the revealed model this weekend.
