STAR WARS: RESISTANCE Discussion Thread!

Crimson Corsair!

Battledroids!

Excited!

Looks like the fixed the wings on the T-85 too.

Second and final season? Ugh. Mistake!

Hopefully there's something coming after it, I really like having animated Star Wars to watch. (Other than TCW, which I am excited about!)

Lots of cool looking ships in the trailer. Pretty excited.

Gorba???

Perhaps that is all that is needed for the story?

I have no doubt that there will be a new series coming. There are way too many people wanting Ahsoka and Sabine’s journey. Also, Ezra and Thrawn are who knows where. With the time gap that exists between The Last Jedi and the Rise of Skywalker there is potential to see the characters from Resistance in the Rise of Skywalker in live action form.

The series was probably meant to be very short. Personally, I prefer short and longing for more, than something that becomes ling in the tooth.

However, the real great news is that there is now a Sidon Ithano (The Crimson Corsair) model, so there is no reason not to do a show from the pirates perspective. 😜

Wonder what type of X-wings those were. Had the full cylinder engines like the 65 but looks like its missing its lasers on the bottom wings?

Or perhaps Disney execs checked reviews online and said you get one more.

So.. for those that may wonder WHY I'm excited about this guy from the trailer:

icn33nujvfg31.jpg

It is because he is a cool looking character, has cool alliterate monikers (Crimson Corsair, Red Raider, Blood Buccaneer) as well as, and this could be a spoiler so beware...

... in the canon Story, The Lost Treasure of Count Dooku, He and his crew of the Meson Martinet stumble on a treasure that includes a clone trooper in suspended animation Kix who joined the crew, but they ALSO found out where a bunch of hidden separatist outposts were.

What this means, is that despite talking about bounty hunters in the trailer when he shows up, I having feeling that old Sidon here will not be a villain, or at least won't stay that way, but give the resistance some locations for material, In which they either get b2 droids to use, or have to fight them to get supplies.

Either way, I sure hope the whole crew of the Meson Martinet get shown, as well as the ship itself.

Do any known model of x-wings usually have a purple engine glow and I've just noticed? (0:58)

Also seems like the 4-armed-might-be-a-bounty-hunter-ship engages a few different characters in the season, possible recurring enemy, or I've just read that wrong.

Lot to cover here.

The markings on the trailer remembles those from Rebels’ World Between Worlds episode.

The Iktotchi Bounty Hunter's helmet in the trailer is inspired by the 2003 Clone Wars series.

X - Wing Variant?

Looks a bit kludged together. Rebuilt T-65 with some newer parts?

I think that is the best guess on what it is. The full cylinder engines make it more like a 65 than a 70 or 85.

Maybe its Yeagers old fighter?

is that the Fireball behind the X-wing?

Yep

So my guess is that pieces of the new republic fleet escapes the Hosnian massacre, and meet up with the Colossus.

Yeah, I feel like there always had to have been some amount of the NR navy that wasn't at Hosnian. Transporting stuff, escorts for transports, etc. We know the core of the navy was there but surely there had to be a few spare missions out in the wide, wide galaxy.

The markings on the trailer resembles those from Rebels’ World Between Worlds episode.

They are remarkably similar yet also not quite the same. For instance, in one there's no dots beside the line that's at the top of the dome above/below the equal sign. That could be explained pretty easy as similar languages or artistic expression (like some people putting other objects instead of dots above their i's and j's or randomly putting objects above letters that don't normally have dots). This kind of makes me want to cap all of the World Between writing (but I'm too lazy), did you grab this from a source that had that capped or just found a single shot?

It would also silence (hopefully) those that complain about the entire fleet being wiped out. It would be a retcon, but a logical one and, saying the new republic fleet was wiped out could still be true, from a certain point of view. A convoy of transports doesn't exactly equal a fleet.

Hmm. Was the term "wiped out" or the term "effectively wiped out" used? If the second then it wouldn't be a retcon.

Even if it wasn't specifically stated "effectively" it still could have been what was meant all along. It could be that the main warships which make up the "defense fleet" (the star cruisers/destroyers and similar) were destroyed but smaller patrol craft, escorts, transports, starfighters, etc, have survived away from Hosnian Prime. I haven't personally read the fiction where they say what happens to the fleet but I can't imagine it being a total destruction, though I could see the most important ships of the fleet being gone.
