Glossary of Armada slang & abbreviations

By DiabloAzul, in Star Wars: Armada

Either way, I'd say such nuances are beyond the scope of a simple glossary...

I agree, which is why I'd have "Triple Tap" listed in the glossary as a move specific to the Demolisher, as, in 99.9% of the circumstances in which it is used, that's what it's referring to.

Anyway most of this is me just thinking out loud.

OK, you've convinced me. Added Triple Tap.

Well, we did get a few posts of "What is this triple tap I keep reading about?" for a ltittle while... But they've really dropped off recently.

Perhaps, someday, when the bogeyman Demolisher has vanished into history, new generations of Armada players will listen to Grandpa's stories about the Dreaded Demolisher triple-tap, and shake their head in disbelief that anyone could have feared such a superstitious thing. And then our histories will need to have accurately depicted the terror and panic that Demolisher induced in its heyday.

Perhaps.

Greeblehauling?

A New term making the rounds:

Interdoctor = An Interdictor set up specifically to assist the operation of another ship, generally through judicious use of its High-Engineering Value and Projection Experts.

Added Interdoctor. Thanks for the pre-made def, Dras!

FCT aka fire control teams. FC Flight commander. FC Flight Controllers.

FCT is a Tough one, ebcause its doubles these days...

Fire Control Teams

Fighter Coordination Team

I've been using F-CT for the First, and FCT for the Second....

Honestly, I think FCT is winning out for Fighter Coordination Team at hte moment, simply through popularity - the popularity of Fire Control Teams won't peak until we've had the FAQ on it, I think...

FCT was already there, but I added the alternative meaning.

Added MSU, DeMSU, Clonisher.

WOOT! I made the List!!!

Maybe I missed something, but the linked list for "Clonisher" doesn't include a Demolisher title.

Is that correct?

I can't speak on clontrooper5's behalf, but I was assuming it was an oversight on his part rather than a misunderstanding on mine. I'm a lot less sure of that now

His list most certainly had a fracking demolisher in it.

The first glad is always demo.

What about Dual Turbolaser Turrets? DTT.

BumpetyMcBumpBump.

Yeah. I think I'll mark this one for perusing as req'd. Thanks.

The Yavaris Two Step:

This is a sophisticated tactic that involves a Escort Neb-B with Yavaris Title + Flight Commander and Flight Coordination Team upgardes, and atleast two bomber squadrons. (Usually two B-wing squadrons).

The Bomber squadrons is pushed forward with an extra speed 1 and when timed correctly an enemy ship can be attacked first with Yavaris, followed up with a double tap attack by the two bomber squadrons, who has the abillity to move at speed 1 first without penalty.

This can be even more deadly when combined with a Bomber Command Center.

Also known as Rebel Demolisher amongst many other names

Shovaris was my favourite suggestion for that build.

Yavaris Shenanigans is my preference, but I am open to something better.

Could you also add ' Sub ' (short for Submarine) for the MC80 Home One class cruiser and Dolphin for the MC30c? Were I play (my home) it is used to refer to them, and I naturally refer to them as such here, only to change it halfway through a post because others might not know the terms. Granted, this does mean that it might not be popular and hence without a place in your glossary, but then again, I haven't read all the posts so they may have been used. Maybe people use them elsewhere?

Genique (gen-eek) - A Unique Generic Squadron ie rogue squadron.

Maybe you should also add RAF-A & RAF-B , which I assume means Rebel Assault Frigate (Mark II) A & B. I've seen it in many posts.
