Jackyboy, how do you print those character cards?

This is how I do it. Firstly I open photoshop, I create a canvas large enough for 4 character cards (2 by 2) and print that onto card with a decent laser printer at my work. I do the same for the character card backs and print them off with an offset of -2 to the left (don't know why but after alot alot trial and error this is how the printer needs to be configured)
They come out perferct and the card costs me 6p a sheet. The printing is free so I can't really complain at all

Should ability #2 say ditch? Or did you mean discard? It seems that with a ditch, that could be a powerful ability.
The bright side of ditch however, is that you are forcing another player to intentionally take the hag in order to discard her.
Ability #3 - I'd just add in "Other players" to clarify this ability. The intent is that the conduit CAN use his own items.

For the Old Crone I will make it clear that it is IF you draw the hag, or for any reason get given the hag from another player, instantly discard her and gain +1 Strength and +1 Craft

I've been toying around with collaborative abilities between characters. Something that favours the character possessing the ability, but also makes it worth while for the collaborator to participate. I really like the idea of creating "teams" or synergies between players during the times that most benefit them. It's something completely different than what has been presented and could offer some great "gang ups" against players steam rolling away to victory.
An incomplete idea would be a "Dungeon Crawler" (tribute intended)
Where you could summon another character to the dungeon to form an adventuring party. With the second player participating in combat and also having a chance at the spoils. You could then introduce some interesting stipulations.... must be a good character, must be from the dungeon expansion, must possess a talisman etc.
Or perhaps you stream line the ability to say - During combat, you may pay 2 gold to a player, to teleport his/her character to your space. Add both character's strength or craft together for the battle. A character must be neutral or the same alignment as you to participate.
The idea is not worked out, but I think it could be interesting.

I am loving the Crime Lord! God it is going to be hardwork trying to play with him as my girlfriend has already 'dibbed' him. Well we'll have to wait for a random character selection to deliver us into the arms of organised crime
Ive been looking for hours for a suitable image for the crime lord. I really like the theme of the character with the artwork you put with it chemicall22. It's just proving hard to find a full length image of a similar character. If you can suggest a picture i'd be very grateful

I like it buddy! It captures the theme pretty well. I have a few images I would say are pretty good but not as good as your image. Sooo..... let me know if you find another image more suitable; otherwise i'll whip it up tomorrow afternoon

Abilities:

If you would be killed for the first time, teleport to the Grim Reaper instead. Roll for the Grim Reaper chart. If you roll a 1, you remain dead and you may not reroll that die. Otherwise gain a destiny and each opponent lose 1 life. You gain an amount of life equal to the life lost this way. After that if you are somehow still are at 0 life, you stay dead.

Whenever you encounter the Grim Reaper and you have a destiny you may either replenish all fate or all lifes instead of rolling for the Death chart.

If you have a destiny, you may move the Grim Reaper whenever you roll a 1 or a 2 for your movement instead of just at a 1.

Well alternative arkwork for current characters would be cool....but then they'd have to release figures for them too!

Got them, always interested in looking at player designed characters and getting them all in one place is greatly helpful heres my "2 cents worth"..
Beast Charmer: Starting space? Do you mean the space you started your turn or the Forest which is your starting space. If so why not say “forest” if you mean the space you started say “after you move but before encountering your space move all animals from the space you moved from” or say “animals on your space move with you when you move” other than that good character “good design not alignment good hehehe” I personally do not like the picture though needs more leg.
Camel Rider: had me all for the last special ability would be better if you say “when you land on a Desert space you may move to the Oasis instead” and get rid of the “You do not lose a life in the Desert”. Needs better fate like 3 or 4 craft 3. Also I don’t think you need to say “token” after fate in first ability. Maybe repel a fate when you land on the Oasis too. Other than that good character.
Cavalier: Sorry hate the Maiden ability I do not think any character should have a ability that allows them to take a card from the adventure deck before game. Maybe say “If you gain the Maiden or the Princess you gain a Quest Reward” or better still just say it’s the princess because hardly anything links to that also you can say “when you trade the princess in for gold at the castle you may gain a Quest Reward” or even increase your strength value by 1 and then start off with strength 2 which would be better given you have a warhorse at start. You can also say that you can get a warhorse from the Livery Stables place card for free if you do not have one given this character should have the Sacred Pool or and The City set needed icon. So he needs some work.
Crime Lord: like the black mo pic best. Needs a The City icon because your saying “may Evade enemies in the city” interesting indeed love the “City Watch” ability but there are 2 law enemy in the City so it would be better if you said “Night Guard” instead or even both. I think the evade enemies in the city is a bit rude, what about “must encounter characters in the city and can evade enemies but may never enter a shop in the city” thus giving him right of way in the city with limiting him from gaining nasty items followers but also allowing him to pick on other characters in the city. Needs more thought in abilities but great idea would be interested in trying to work out a better working character.
Death Seeker: Right needs to have a Reaper icon and a Woodlands Icon both sets are needed to use this character plus you need to say you need to be playing with the Reaper figure too given you can play with the Reaper expansion with or without the Reaper figure. I made a character like this my Practicing Lich is Reaper based. Given this character needs 2 expansions I think it’s not great maybe find a way you can cut it down to one.
Earth Mother: Hehehe I don’t know what to say… I don’t like it at all no real flavour or dare I say “character” at all.
Engineer: To much like the Tinkerer as in the characters converting constructs, its interesting but too confusing. Maybe drop it for another ability in which it would be a very good character. Defeating Constructs auto id pretty powerful but there is not a lot of constructs maybe that’s enough increase fate and there you go.
Fate Master: Way to many abilities try to cut it down and make it less confusing say “may repea 1 fate a turn” lose the second ability keep the third its good lose the last two and maybe put in a ability that allows you to always use a fate even if a player uses a dark fate on your roll. Also it has to be Woodlands because you are using Light and Dark fate and even though it’s a rule that can be used even if you are not using the Woodlands expansion that fact that players may not know of it means you should limit the character to Woodlands.
Hound Master: Interesting hound tokens and Wanted Poster cards lose the fourth ability and make the 5 th 2G each not 3G make strength 3 and craft 3 and I think that’s a good character. Very good idea.
Imp: Cool but lose the 2 nd ability and put a “no effect fight battle as normal” effect in number the 3 rd ability other than that great character. I made a Imp myself but he moved cards around instead.
Madcap: Need a “ignore any effect that changes your alignment” add on 2 nd ability the 3 rd ability should just be an encounter eg instead of battle other than that great character indeed, thumbs up.
Mage Conduit: Nope 2 nd ability way to nasty you gain a Strength as well? Just make it a 6 only and lose the strength gain. Other than that I think it needs more work just missing something?
Mimic: Problems with remembering special abilities good idea but this is a major prob. needs more work.
Morph: Hmmm same as the Nomads Shape Shifter really.
Nyctomancer: To powerful when you are a werewolf and it is night good idea having a night effected character but needs to be weaken down maybe a ability that allows you to force night need more work.
Old Crone: make 1 st ability an encounter not a before battle effect. Make The Hag a discard or say while you have her you gain +1 strength and craft maybe even say it’s a value increase. Other than that good very good oh fate 5? Knock it down to 4 or 3 and life to 5 is too much.
Ritual Master: should say heal not replenish you replenish fate not life you heal life not fate. Other than that good and interesting.
Zombie: Noooooooo… No Zombies as characters now Zombie Master hmmmmm.
So the Crime Lord , Madcap and Old Crone are three I would be interested in working on and fitting them into my Forever Talisman new character deck with my amended nomad characters if thats ok by you. Of course more discussion over any ability changes are welcome. Madcap geee what a good idea for a character.

I've tried with a few of my customs to bring out strangers from the deck and board into playable characters, you know like the Warlock and Alchemist from the Canon. As with the Imp, it's easier then to design their abilities. My favourite ones that I've come up with are Madcap, Pirate Captain and Golem. I think I'm gonna work on another attempt at an always good and always evil character.
