Holy CRAP Macross, did you PAINT the ENGINEGLOW onto the model? You continue to amaze.

Oh yes, that is one of my better examples of object source lightning. OSL is bloody difficult and not something I have fully mastered but it can certainly be done.
Anyway, more work done on the Wayfarer. The crew compartment has been built and both the engine array and crew compartment has been joined to the central tube.

Didn't have time to update yesterday. Was too busy watching Deadpool.
Anyway, fixed the end caps for the central tube and added some detailing to the docking boom. Also added some additional structures and detail to the rear of the ship.

Even more structures added. It's not long now until all major elements are finished and I can begin on the finer details.

Loved the "mini" (yeah right!) version of this and can't wait to see this one, maybe with a ship inside! I hope someone commissions you to make a proper scale Farstar. If I suddenly get news of a dead rich uncle there's going to be a request coming your way
You should totally build a Ghtroc 720. Then you could send it to me. In return, you can have my first born. Not that I have one, but when I do, it's yours. lol

That thing looks like a turtle! Reminds me of a HWK lol
Yup, tends to get called a space turtle, A'Tuin or even Great A'Tuin. In the days of WEG Starwars RPG, it wasn't a half bad light freighter.

I did not know this existed and now that I do I want it so much.
The Ghtroc was the first ship my group got back when I played the WEG Star Wars RPG. Unfortunately it is not a ship I can build. All those curves are hellishly difficult to replicate with plasticard. Instead, those areas need to be sculpted and as good as I am with plasticard, I'm almost equally bad sculpting stuff.
BTW CyCo, bad deal, I don't need any kids. They cause a lot of trouble, cost huge amounts of cash, and most importantly, would take my time away from scratch building and painting. And we can't have that, now can we?
Anyway, didn't have time to do much today. Basically just repeated on the underside, what I had previously done to the top.

Finished some of the last structures, applied lots of liquid green stuff and I've also begun building the bridge.

But, you could train them so that during the ad break, they go grab you another can of beer while you watch the Superbowl. And when they've been good, you could let them play X-Wing.

Still a bad deal, refuse to watch ads if I can avoid it, never appreciated the taste of beer, and the Superbowl is not exactly a regular feature on Swedish television. Of course, the last one would be true. Those kids would damned well have to like Star Wars and X-wing!
Finished the bridge. Several bits has been taken from an assortment of 40k Adeptus Mechanicus models. Really good stuff as those bits lend themselves well to the 'industrial' look that most Star Wars ships feature.

I hope that ship has great meaning to you: lots of fun, rewarding hours role-playing with your friends, cuz... aesthetically speaking... it is "an acquired taste". Which is my way of say that in a universe of "questionable" ship designs... that is pretty **** ugly (IMO)

I wonder if, as you've written this and many people have seen it he could actually force you to do it...

Legally binding contract I would say!
Anyhow, the ship is finished! Lots of details and greebles has been added these last two days.

The build looks great!
I don't believe that the painting is up to your usual standard though
lol. Legally binding. I'd somehow doubt it, as I'm sure the mother would have something to say. Besides, Macross doesn't want kids, and my bad in assuming you were in the US of A. Your scratch building skills are amazing as always. What's next on the cards.
Oh man, the Wayfarer! I remember seeing this thing in the old Saga Edition RPG book and just loving the design!
I don't know if you've been asked this already, but do you think you might try a commission sometime? There's a neat Corellian ship or two that I really like...
It took about two weeks but now it's finished! The last picture is a comparison (using Photoshop since I don't have the other model) with the first, smaller, Wayfarer I built last year. Enjoy!

Beautifully done! Masterful even.
Just beautiful.
Fraking awesome!!
Amazing, mind blowing my friend.
Saw this pop up on Facebook the other day - really lovely work!
