Would quite like to see a Munitorium Quaestor; they're an old DH career but the "Hammer Of The Emperor" diary made me think about them again. I love the idea of a bookworm scribe attached to a squad for a "review of frontline conditions" (to be written up in triplicate, naturally).

I could see plenty of room for a ratling black market dealer; someone who gets bonuses to Logistics, that sort of thing. Would be interested to see what else they come up with - the abhumans have always had their niche, but not much beyond that.

As an aside, i feel an Imperial Navy sourcebook would be out of place in this setting, perhaps it would be better suited as a Rogue Trader supplement. Also i think it would be best if commissars and Stormtroopers had their own Schola Progenium supplement book to really focus on their specialised training and psykers definetly should have their own book all together, perhaps with detailed chapters for all the various races' psykers/sorcerers/wyches.

While I understand your point..I hoping that Rogue trader itself gets upgraded to the OW standard. We'll see how DH2 actually does.

Well, when it comes to psykers and storm troopers I can think of a few things that a new book like this could cover for them. I'm a huge fan of 40K, so I recognize that some of this might just push the boundaries of what is in the fluff; My imagination started to run away after a few minutes.

* Expand on the types of psyker professions: Maybe psykers eventually, if they don't go splat, begin to specialize in different capabilities. I'm not sure if the fluff already covers this, since I'm a huge 40K fan but nowhere near Trekkie type level, but it just seems possible that there may be psykers who master inflicting perils of warp upon others while some psykers master environmental manipulations.

* Would it make sense for psykers to have a scholarly type discipline in the warp? Give them the potential to learn about the warp with the purpose of providing advice on the field to the sergeants. Kind of like how a scout observes terrain and reports back to command, these unlockable talents would enable the psycker to analyze past events or get a sense of what foes await.

* Similar thing for storm troopers: Some might expand into night fighting expertise. Give these guys night vision goggles, option of suppressed autogun or regular longlas (maybe give the options of triplex and/or hotshot lasgun on top of this), and a new type of low visibility armour (weaker than flak, but it grants a bonus to stealth rolls).

* Another type of storm trooper variant could be much more true to the original world war one versions who would raid trenches and take prisoners, among other things. These dudes would be like Kriegsmen on steroids, but preferably balanced.

The trick is o not announce a release date until you have them back from the printers. It's not that hard.

Also remember that Only War is really the poster child of this. It was originally announced as a DH supplement for... was it 2009 or 2010? I forget.

Either way, I vastly prefer the OW that actually came out in the end, but by then it had been a joke for 2 years running if not more.

Oh hell yes. DH did not a need a Guardsman supplement... like, at all. The fact that we had to wait for 2 years because someone had the legitimately brilliant idea of turning it into its own system is, in fact, no wait at all.

I wonder if the delay was caused by changes to the Imperial Guard in the upcoming 'Astra Militarium' Codex, which had to be incorporated...?

Speaking of the revised Imperial Guard Astra Militarium, am I the only one who thinks the new 'Taurox' transport models look completely absurd?

I wondered the same and I sincerely hope so, for this supplement it would not be that difficult, just add Bullgryns and some fluff blurbs along the ways "it was Astra Militarium all along" (or as I like to put it "Astra Militarium without, Imperial Guard within")

On the matter of Taurox I disagree with the statement it is completely silly. There are some poor design choices, for example why couldnt it be a wheeled vehicle or halftrack, the "doubletrack" is rather weird. It has also too high profile for my liking, often emphasized by the add-don turret (the non stormie one without the turret in cadian colours looks much better). But the concept is sound, we have yet to see artwork of Taurox which could do it in-universe justice and nobody is forcing the GMs to describe it in much cooler way. Difference between the models and storytelling of orks comes to mind.

I like the look of that vehicle. I also love that it uses twin autocannons (my favorite heavy weapon for the IG).

Nice! If I end up buying one, I'll definitely make that conversion- or possibly just swap out the front treads with wheels and leave the back ones as treads to create a half-track.

For some reason, I expect that each of those conversions will be more popular than the "original" model. Yech!

Though it might be difficult to relate it to the RPG, I do like the look of the upcoming Wyvern, and the Hydra still looks neat. Quad heavy mortar seems cheesy.

Have Shield of Humanity on ore-order at Amazon, got a mail today saying expected date is now between 10th and 20th May.

Wish they would hurry up and release it, I might actually have some XP to spend by then!
