Reference Sheets

In the talent document, could you please specify the type of action used?

The following Talents are ranked, but their descriptions don't have any reference to ranks.

Maybe the descriptions could be changed in this way (or something similar):

On holiday at the moment, but will look to provide an update over the next couple of weeks. I'll aim to incorporate any obvious changes (apart from missing updates) from the beginner box, and look at some way of identifying the action for the talent trees.

Not so sure about the ranked changes suggested. I've tried to keep the wording as close as possible to the original talent trees, which aside from being simpler, seem to be written from the perspective of what you get each time you take the talent.

Hells! Yes!!

As to avoid highjacking my favorite forum thread any further, I've added a link for the font to my signature.

Hey Gribble, any chance you can put together a single page talent quick reference sheet, the talent trees are brilliant but I could really do with something for a lazy GM, so that i don't have to look through numerous sheets.

Yes but, in the original description there is a "Ranked: Yes" or "Ranked: No" text that makes clear when a Talent is Ranked.

Without this "text flag" and without a reference in the description it's impossible to tell if a Talent is Ranked or not.

Adding the "text flag" would be another good solution :-)

Hi gribble.

I've put together a font (open type format) using the Edge of the Empire icons.

If your page layout application lets you add a stroke (border) to a character, you can pretty much recreate every icons from the game. Sure beats inserting little cliparts into the text manually.

Feel free to PM me if you're interested.

I'll probably upload a new version down the road with better kerning, scaling and character map.

This… is awesome. Thank you.

A bit confused, though: are the coloured dice icons part of the font somewhere, or do we fill in the white ones with a graphics program?

Hi I. J. Thompson.

Fonts are always black on a transparent background. The colors were applied in a page layout program as an example.

If anybody else has more questions, suggestions or surequests regarding the font, please post in this thread instead:

Maybe with abbreviations like:

OoT = Out of Turn Inc = Incidental Man = Maneuver Act = Action

The rulebook can't come out soon enough. The final layout should be more detailed that what we had in the BETA book.

TrueType and PS Type 1 fonts are black and white. OpenType is a hybrid - the actual font inside is either PS Type 1 or TTF.

In fact, Type 1 can support grayscale fonts, but both Windows and MacOS render them in B&W.

Updated graphics a bit.

It's interesting, I don't use GM Screen with EotE, but I used it a lot with other RPGs.

Thanks a ton all this has been a huge Help in getting started!

I have worked upa sample page for a GM screen. here it is. Before I slug ahead, is there any desire for this kind of thing? Is this what folks were mentioning in earlier posts?

Looks pretty sweet to me.

If you want some better dice graphices, I have some with transparent backgrounds instead of the blue borders…

:)

I'd love the better graphics! How can I get those from you?

I sent you a PM.

Just a post to push these awesome resources back to the top page, and make sure they're not forgotten about.

The beta forums themselves aren't even linked any longer from the FFG forum list.

Should we start a Playaids/Reference Sheets thread on the new forum and start posting this stuff over there?

At the moment, the Beta is a subforum of the RPG…

Sturn: Given that this thread alone is 10 pages, I think it's a great idea to start a play / GM aids thread!

Second that motion, however I say we leave it to gribble to create a thread about his reference sheets, if he so desires.

BAZINGAAA.... Thank you so very much.

Thanks a bunch!

Any chance of getting the new sourcebook stuff added? I am woefully tech inept or I would do it myself.

Based on the good work of TonganJedi and sumqui , I decided to put together a consistent and comprehensive set of reference sheets. They're designed to be printed 2 sided (or I guess two to a page, although the font might get pretty small), and cover character creation (first two sheets), general reference (second two sheets), combat reference - personal and starship/vehicle (third two sheets) and finally the spending advantage/threat/etc examples (a single sheet).

You can download them (as a single PDF) from: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9077657/SW-EotE-Reference-Sheets.pdf

They should include the week 1 updates. Happy to take any suggested corrections and/or additions for things that are missing!

:)

I would like to translate this reference to Portuguese, do you guys have it in a editable format ?
