Tam's fingers fly across the controls, adjusting the settings to compensate for Kebiin's rough handling. Keb'ika, I'll keep up with our systems while we're out of range!

They’re gaining on us ,” Arde said bluntly, looking down the scope for the rear gun. “ Get us out of here .”

Naz’s voice came from the back, as the shields strengthen to the aft of the ship. “ I’m redirecting shields to the rear for now. It’ll take me a moment to splice in one of these energy cells to boost the shields power though ,” he said, apparently having found something to help in one of his boxes after all.

The TIEs continue to track with Jurir Gotabor'e , but Kebiin manages to out-maneuver them and they drop back slightly as they peel off in the wrong direction. The lead group pulls around first and adjusts to try and cut you off.

Kebiin rolled her eye, Of course they're catching up, she sighed, They're TIE's, we're in a forty year old assault ship that's been rebuilt three times..

Just shoot them with the rear guns before they get too close! Tam added cheerfully.

They’re too far away to shoot ,” Arde replied, still ready to fire. “ If they’re close enough for me to shoot, they’re close enough to shoot at us.

Well, there you go, everyone's happy! Tam replied happily.

Tam, Kebiin sighed...

Kebiin tries the same maneuver again and gains on one flight, but one of them anticipated it, and with their higher speed managed to cut her off. The other group runs right up on your tail, firing at the ship, but Kebiin manages to swerve out of the way of most of the fire, and anything that hit was absorbed by the shields.

Kebiin quickly lines up a shot and opens fire on the leader, holding the triggers down until the TIE erupts in a ball of super heated gas.

Tam's cheer quickly turns into a startled Yelp as Kebiin spins the Kom'rk in a dizzying array of random juking to avoid the trailing fighters. As soon as the sensors indicate they have returned to their original course, Kebiin swerves back towards the jump point.

The other group of TIEs pulls around and follows, lining up their attack run. Jurir Gotabor'e shudders as their laser fire rakes her hull.

As the enemy TIE’s begin firing, Arde returns shots of his own, lining up a lock. The shot manages to clip one of the TIE’s but misses the critical systems, slightly off target from the disruption of the ship. “ There’s too many! Naz, get those shields boosted! We can’t take many more hits like that!

The other group, which had been lagging behind, sweeps in from the side and fires a volley, landing a couple solid hits, but struggling to get a bead on the larger ship as it jukes and weaves.

I’m working on it! I’m working on it! ” Naz yelled back as another shot from the TIEs rocked the ship. He’d broken open the shield panel and was trying to splice the wires into the energy pack he’d pulled out. Something was was proving extremely difficult to do without disabling the shields in the process.

The first flight of TIEs kept pace with Jurir and swoops in again, but Kebiin's wild maneuvering causes their volley to go wide, with the shots that hit being absorbed by the shields.

Kebiin attempts to return fire on the pesky TIEs, sending a hail of amber laser bolts into the loose formation.

The TIEs scattered around the bolts, frustrating Kebiin until she saw an opening she was looking for to get around them..

As she leveled out to shoot the gap, the second flight of TIEs swung in guns blazing, hitting Jurir hard, just as her shields flickered from Naz's tampering.

Tam! Kebiin calls out, as red damage indicators start popping on multiple screens.

On it! Tam says, jumping out of her seat and heading to another control panel, fingers hitting switches and rerouting power supplies. Ok Keb'ika, that should help for now. I'll keep working on it!

Naz nearly fell over as another hit rocked the ship, narrowly managing to stay on his feet. He'd had to find an extra bit of wire to rig up the energy pack to boost the shields. We was almost certain there was an easier way to do this, but without that much expertise with ships, he was just doing the best he could. " Shields are boosted!" Honestly he had no idea if it would even make any difference. TIE's were devastating enough it might not matter.

The last group of TIEs swings in for another pass, but their fire is absorbed entirely by the now-boosted shields.

Arde continued firing on the pursuing TIEs, but the pilots were better prepared this time, managing to dodge out of the way in the nick of time.

The first group of TIEs come up fast, pouring it on as they pass. The shields absorb the first couple hits, but the shields fail completely as the strain of Naz's repairs takes its toll. The last couple hits shake Jurir , but the TIEs were too focused on getting the hit to pay attention to their vector, and pass directly into Kebiin's sights.

Kebiin smiled, Gar di'kutla or'dinii'e . Pulling the trigger as the targeting computer chimed a lock, Kebiin activated the wings causing them to spin and feathered the rudder slightly, raking the entire flight in laser fire. Each one exploding in balls of blueish gass and debris.

The flight right behind them comes in for a run, hitting the now badly-damaged Kom'rk hard. Jurir Gotabor'e shudders under the barrage, but the TIEs split up and begin taking evasive action to avoid a fate similar to that of their lead.

Tam races back to her station to repair some strain of the system. Come on vode, get those fighters! she calls out, We're taking some serious damage.

Naz shielded his face instinctively as sparks began to fly from the panel he'd worked on. They'd taken so much fire from the TIE's that the wiring couldn't handle the strain, and the shield had failed completely. A quick look told him there was nothing he could do to get it back up. But there was something else he could do instead. Ripping the energy pack out of the wiring, he spliced a new section running to the engines and wrapped the wire around the coil running to the engines. " You've got maybe a minute of extra power! Punch it! "
