Here's a map of Mesh'la Solus. Room #9 is the cells-turned prisoner storage, the aft half of room #4 is the room shared by Ge'tal and Jen.
Just to be clear: how many cabins/rooms are there, with how many bunks? And who's sharing with whom?
(I'm not fussing, just wanting a clear mental picture.)
Was there a link to a ship's floorplan at one point?
Are the laser cannons controlled from the cockpit, or do they have their own gunnery seats like the Millenium Falcon did?
(Dibs on the dorsal cannons if we get into ship-to-ship combat!

Two staterooms (Dar/Vhal), two double-bunks (Cade & Kara/Jen & Ge'tal), and double-bunks in the repurposed cells (Wu).
There was a link to the ship's floorplan, I've deleted an old one and linked a new one in the post just above yours.

Jen has YYG in Gunnery, so she'd be a good option for ship's gunner. Alternatively, with YYY in Mechanics she could also deal with damage control.

We tend to do both a good deal of the time..

Would the expense account for "any lodging or other expenses incurred in the course of blending in" stretch to include Armour Inserts and weapon attachments like Componentization, Lightweight Frame, and Scanner-Proof Hardware?

It depends, I'd have to address it on a case-by-case basis. We do have three sets of Armored Clothing already.
