Not specifically. The book simply says that an Advantage rolled on a Discipline Check May be spent to grant an insight into the situation such as a vulnerability in a seemingly indomitable foe, an unusual pattern in suppressing fir, etc.

I'll give you a peek into a particular stat then. It is tough, but it's very slow. Its arms have the Slow-Firing 1 quality. (I'm using modified Rancor stats)

The Survival was for Initiative, not Fear. He'd already made (and passed) the Fear check.

I'll take it for Initiative though, dropping the difficulty dice (so 1s3a).

Rancor Initiative: Initiative: 2eP+1eA 2 successes, 1 advantage
p-s-a.pngp--.pnga-s.png

Initiative order:

1) Cade 3s
2) Kara 3s
3) Rancor 2s1a
4) Falmok 1s3a
5) Wu Zakai 1s1a
6) Ge'tal 1s

@RuusMarev, Cade's turn!

He is at Engaged range of the Rancor, and can pass through the door if he so desires (one Maneuver). Beyond the door is a short hallway and then a spiral staircase up.

@Tramp Graphics What do you think? go for the Dar'jetti or do we stay and try to kill some modified Rancor?

As a player, I’d say go for the dark Jedi, since that’s the mission. As a character, Ge’tal would go for the glory of killing the rancor.

Fair enough... Cade will probably grab her and assure her that the Rancor isn't going anywhere and drag her to the dar'jetti... (as both a character and player, it took a lot to take down Gorka, it would be nice to have the group together for this one... and then we can take on the Rancor with whatever munitions we have left.) I think a protracted fight with the Rancor would only to serve as a warning to the jedi...

@P-47 Thunderbolt the contract said alive for this one, right?

Yes.

Okay, @RuusMarev. What's Cade gonna do?

If Kara is close, grab her and shove her through the doorway...

No, but she can get there on her turn which is right after Cade's. Single Maneuver for her as well.

Kara is up, and then the Rancor.

Move through the doorway... (I think I'd like the shoot its eye out, but I think the situation would escalate quickly..)

It only takes a Maneuver to move into the hallway, so you can pretty easily take an action if you so desire.

I'm debating on taking the shot... between it not actually doing anything to us yet (despite the fact its a freaking RANCOR) and if Kara gets it mad, it might hurt one of the team....

But I guess if Kara and Falmok manage to blind the thing, that would go a long way to defeating it later... or if the dar'jetti summons the **** thing..

It would be move to doorway, AIM and fire at the eye if its still a decent target.. what kind of pool am I looking at?

Shooting it's eyes will require a Called Shot Aim maneuver (so a second maneuver to move into the hall would be 2 Strain), adding 2 Setback.

Mechanically, you are best off shooting and then moving since you won't have a shot from the hall. Narratively, you can fire on the move, so it doesn't make too much of a difference.

Plus, if you make the check before taking a second maneuver, two Advantage can get you a free second Maneuver.

You'd be looking at an Easy shot with 3 Setback, and you'll need to trigger a crit to blind it (rather than rolling for a Critical Injury).

Easy, not Average

Easy, not Average. Wrote the wrong thing.

Kara eye shot: 1eA+1eP+1eD+3eS 2 failures, 1 threat, 1 Triumph
a-a.pngp-tr.pngd-f-f.pngs-th.pngs-th.pngs-f.png

ugh... hmmm... shot missed, but broke a piece of crystal and stabbed it in the eye?

Take another Strain since it swipes at you when you run past.

What would you like for the Triumph?

Edit: A free Maneuver is an option.

no magic shrapnel? :(

So, for maneuver.. other than getting into the hall, are there any other options? (Kara is at 3 strain, correct?)

No magic shrapnel. I generally try to avoid "succeeding by mistake." Failing forward is a different matter, but not succeeding by mistake.

Whatever sort of maneuver you want to try. A single Move Maneuver gets you into the hall or halfway back across the room. Other than that, drawing/stowing weapons, or whatever else you can think of that would work as a Maneuver.

Correct. 2 from the trip in, 1 from the last check.

I guess head further into the hall, to make room for the others and scout ahead..

Okay, you can get to Short range, same distance as Cade.

Though Cade only took the one maneuver, so he could sub his action for a maneuver and start ascending the stairs if yo uwant.

Please go ahead and post IC, then I'll resolve the Rancor and Falmok is up.
