@RuusMarev, you can go ahead and narrate your way back to 'Solus.

@ShockHelix, you can go ahead and narrate your way back to 'Solus. Any shopping you want to do can be done retroactively, with just a line about "after picking up the parts she needs" or whatever. Any crafting you want to do?

After that, I guess we can probably narrate back into the action. Team assignments/objectives/plans?

XP:
Dar, Vhal, Ge'tal, and Cade each get 15XP.
Maya and Kara each get 20XP.

Please let me know what you spend it on.

Everyone heals all their strain and 1 wound. (assuming you don't intend to really do anything else "today")

Edited by P-47 Thunderbolt

I picked up Armor Master (Improved) for Darien, D1 on the Death Watch Mandalorian tree. Increases his defense by 1 when wearing his Mandalorian armor.

I just bumped up my Melee skill.

Okay, Obligation triggered, so everyone lowers their Strain Threshold by 1.

The Obligation triggered was Cade's Clan Obligation, so his lowers by 2.

@RuusMarev, if you care to, you can fluff text it as part of your narration. The cause of Cade's concern is a message he gets from Haven that the Separatists have taken Phindar, threatening supply lines and setting the Separatists up to take Haven, if they have a mind to.

Everyone roll Destiny

Darien: Destiny: 1eF 2 Dark Side

Destiney: 1eF 2 Light Side
f-ls-ls.png

Destiny: 1eF 1 Dark Side
f-ds.png

How many crafting hours do I have?

Let's see...

At this point, I'd say it's probably around 3:00 or so, so it depends how long you intend to stay up. If you work late enough, it'll impose a Setback due to tiredness.

If you intend to work particularly late, Darien would think to suggest the use of a stimstick.

@ShockHelix, @P-47 Thunderbolt, Just curious, are you using the Armor Construction rules from Keeping the Peace, and, if so, which template is the character working with?

Yes, and no clue. I don't have the book, so I'm piggy-backing off of hers.

I think it was the top-tier armor, am I right?

There are three templates which can approximate some form of Mandalorian armor:

  • Customizable armor (which can make a "light" mandalorian armor ) 1Soak, 0 Defense, but 4 Hard Points, 3 Encumbrance, 500 Credit materials, 16 hours construction time, Average Difficulty
  • Segmented Armor (r) 2500 Credits in materials, Daunting crafting check, 48 hours construction time, +2 Soak, +1 Defense, 6 Encumbrance, 4 hard points
  • Augmentative Armor (R) 4500 Credits, in materials, Formidable Crafting Check, 120 hours construction time, +2 Soak, +2 Defense, 6 Encumbrance, 6 Hard Points.

I was allowed to forgo the additional 2500 Cr from character creation obligation so I don't need to look for the restricted rarity 6 materials I'd need for the Segmented Armor, a.k.a the Beskar.

Please let me know what you spend it on.

With what I had before, I'm going to spend 25 XP for another rank in Mechanics, and 5 XP for 1 rank of Grit from the Senator Tree. Should leave me with 10 XP remaining.

For crafting, we'll start with some Gadgets. The Slicing Gear I have is currently at 2 Encum, so we'll take some attempts at that.

50 Cr, 2 hours (1 hour if there's an additional success past the first.)

Crafting: 5eP+1eD 9 successes, 1 threat, 1 Triumph
p-s-s.pngp-tr.pngp-s-s.pngp-s-s.pngp-s-s.pngd-th.png

10 S, 0 t, 1 T. Wow. I'll return 50% of the cost with the Triumph from Efficient Construction, and it's 1600. - 25 Cr

Attempt #2.

Crafting: 5eP+1eD 5 successes, 1 advantage
p-s-s.pngp-s-a.pngp-s-s.pngp-a-a.pngp--.pngd-th-th.png

6 S, 2 A. I'll take 2 Boosts from Practice Makes Perfect. 1700. -50 Cr

Attempt #3.

Crafting: 5eP+2eB+1eD 6 successes, 4 advantage
p-s-s.pngp-s.pngp-s-a.pngp-s-s.pngp-a.pngb-a.pngb-a.pngd--.png

7 S, 5 A. I'll take 5 Practice Makes Perfect. 1800. - 50 Cr.

Attempt #4.

Crafting: 5eP+5eB+1eD 4 successes, 5 advantage
p--.pngp-s-a.pngp--.pngp-s-s.pngp-a-a.pngb-a-a.pngb-s.pngb--.pngb--.pngb-a-a.pngd-th-th.png

5 S, 6 A. Good enough. I'll take 3 Practice Makes Perfect and 3 Lightweight so I've got 1 Encum Slicing Gear. 1900. - 50 Cr.

After that, I'm going to start working on grabbing Schematics for the Grenade template, so I can start work on getting everyone some Ion Grenades in the event we have to fight the droid guards that Gorka has.

Crafting: 5eP+3eB+3eD 1 success, 8 advantage
p-a.pngp-a-a.pngp-a-a.pngp-s-a.pngp-s-s.pngb-a-a.pngb--.pngb-a.pngd--.pngd-th.pngd-f-f.png

2 S, 9 A. Awesome. I'll take Schematic twice, and 1 Ion Quality. 2000. -35 Cr And that makes

Standard Ion Grenade: Ranged (Light), Dam 8, Crit 4, Range Short, Encum 1, HP 0, Ion, Blast 6, Limited Ammo 1.

Next Round!

Crafting: 5eP+1eD 3 successes, 4 advantage
p-s-s.pngp-a-a.pngp-a.pngp-a-a.pngp-s-a.pngd-th-th.png

4 S, 5 A. Another 1 Schematic, and 1 Ion Quality. 2100. -35 Cr. Same as above grenade.

Next Round

Crafting: 5eP 4 successes
p--.pngp--.pngp--.pngp-s-s.pngp-s-s.png

5 S, 1 A. 1 Ion Quality. 2200. - 35 Cr. Same as above grenade. Starting to get late so I'll call it there.

Total Post End of Session: 3 Grenade Schematics. 3 Standard Ion Grenades. 1 Slicer Gear. 4 Scrap Slicer Gear. -280 Credits.

Is it possible for me to 'Salvage' the Scrap Slicer Gear for any return of credits/materials, or should I just toss them @P-47 Thunderbolt?

Is it possible for me to 'Salvage' the Scrap Slicer Gear for any return of credits/materials, or should I just toss them @P-47 Thunderbolt?

FYI, I assembled a spreadsheet for crafting: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PxhoLPWdTKbKGzyJ76FMKJcVdKDQXNppR1pgW8W-WfA/edit?usp=sharing

I'm working on some custom crafting for attachments (still WIP), and will be adding custom templates for various things (like micro-rockets and the miniature specialist chassis), but the RAW stuff is there (just no armor).

That comes out to 8 hours (~1:00 A.M.), so that seems okay.

As for the scrap slicer gear, RAW would say toss, and so I'd go with that. Main reason is because there are ways through tech, talents, and Advantage to recover the cost and I don't want to devalue that.

It should come out to 10:00 PM. Sorry, I was using military time. (Hence the start of 1600 and the end of 2200). Every check had an extra success on it, and you said I was starting at 3 PM, so with the 7 checks that would put it at 10 PM. Not sure if it would matter or not.

That'll be super nice for Yaimpar. I can give you the details for the Forged in Battle armor crafting if you would like.

Scrapped it is. Narratively I'll just treat it as always being the same bit she started with anyway.

Oh, yeah, I thought one of them had only one, but add an auto success, don't you.

You are absolutely right. Today's been something of an off day for me, and on off days I often think that there're only 10 hours on the clock. :P Don't question it, that's just how my brain works sometimes.

Thematically appropriate name for a book that has armor crafting rules, but I think you meant Keeping the Peace. :D

If you request editing privileges on the sheet, then sure you can contribute the armor crafting. That would be very helpful. (or if you just meant give me the information and have me type it up, that's fine too)

Woops, yeah. Mixed it up with the Soldier source book. It's hard to keep track of where everything is with so many books 😂

Which is why I love spreadsheets!

Cade will grab his 3rd Coercion 15xp and 3rd Brawl 15xp

Kara wil get 2nd Point Blank 15xp, 3rd Range Light 15xp, and 1st Coercion 5xp

IC post forthcoming!

By the way, I just remembered you actually only had 3 ranks. The Cybernetic added an additional rank, but that goes on top of your skills purchased through XP. It would have only cost you 20 XP, so you've got an extra 5 XP sitting in the bank.

What's your guys' plan for the next day?

Proooooobably something we need to discuss.

Hmm, maybe worth keep the discussing OOC and glossing over it as a long evening conversation.

So, here's my. . . ahem. Maya's immediate thoughts. Let's start off by 'sharing' everything important that's occurred on both our sides. Fully.

As it stands, I do not believe there is any way for Gorka to identify that we were present at the Smuggler base. Narratively speaking we jammed the comms there-

Quote

P-47 Thunderbolt: No outgoing messages were sent thanks to Maya's jamming,

so a message couldn't get out. We either killed or imprisoned everyone else. The only loose ends are the Death Watch themselves, and the best part of that is after re-reading the information from that encounter I realized two things.

1. No mention of Gorka was present at the base. In fact the only reason we know the two were linked was because of me hacking the account and finding him as part of it.

Quote

ShockHelix: The communications tower was her first stop, and she hacked into their system, combing through all their logs

Combing through all their logs she was looking for information on the Death Watch and who they were dealing with, but since Gorka didn't come up in the records it's unlikely there's word there. Furthermore the Death Watch prisoner we took didn't mention anything about it either, implying that they very likely didn't know who the head of the Smuggling operation was. I know this because I had Maya comb over everything about the operation while we were there, and of course questioned the **** out of the prisoner.

2. Technically speaking IC, I took the leader of the smugglers Datapad. . . . Yeah I'm dumb.

Quote

ShockHelix: The datapad taken from the group however, that was more interesting. She had hoped that they'd have details on an account, and sure enough they did. The systems in the communications tower would be better for accesing it, so she made her back. It took a few minutes to hook up her datapads slicing gear to the system, but once she had she began breaking in, navigating through files before finally locating the source of their credits. Now all she had to do was break into the system, disable the security, and transfer the credits out. She cracked her knuckles and leaned into the screen, getting to work.

@P-47 Thunderbolt As an aside. . . do you want to say I accidentally left that behind, or can I go through it again now, to see if there's any relevant information that didn't stand out to me before that would stand out to me now?

Either way, even IF there's no way for him to reasonably identify us, or determine that the group of Death Watch and group of Mandalorians are not one in the same, that still does leave Valek as a potential problem. So I see the options with Valek as thus-

A. Start working with him more directly. If we want to go this route, I'm going to invest in a neural recorder or whatever it's called from Gadgets and Gear. Should be an easy way to blackmail him if things go south.

B. Frame Valek. Truth be told I don't know how viable this option is. Technically speaking him 'outing' Tyra means next to nothing for us since he doesn't know 'she's' affiliated with. . . well us. So this option doesn't have to much of a risk as long as we keep that affiliation secret.

C. Kill Valek. This probably makes it easier for us to rob the bank in the future, if I can use anything in his possession to hack security. At the very least I'd be able to mask my signature with his, temporarily at least. Probably a lot easier to kill him then Gorka, especially if we assassinate him. Has to leave that casino he goes to to get to the bank at some point.

Not sure what you mean by: "Technically speaking IC, I took the leader of the smugglers Datapad. . . . Yeah I'm dumb."

You didn't really ask the commando anything about the smuggling operation though.

Flip a DP and we'll say you kept it. What sort of information in particular would you be looking for?

Any names, associations, business practices, etc. like I would assume it would at least have the name of the person in charge. Considering it’s a criminal organization I expect it’s all compartmentalized so I doubt there would be any mention of anything beyond the smuggling ring we already destroyed, unfortunately, but having that information available to me might be nice if I need to try convince someone else I work for Gorka.

To be more specific I guess:

Does the information on the datapad list any other ongoing operations affiliated with the smuggling ring we destroyed. If not, does it hint at anywhere I could find out that information.

The leader (the guy Cade killed) was Victor Varga.

No, and but it lists an upcoming drop-off. However, that will probably have been cancelled for obvious reasons.

The datapad had the details of that specific transaction and had the account information. Possessing said "details" can help you convince others, probably by adding some Boosts to Deception checks.

Here's the gist of what you could glean from the datapad that would be useful knowledge for you as a player: You haven't actually destroyed the ring, you just took out the distribution part of it. The acquisition and shipping parts are still out there. They operate rather independently, but are reliant on Gorka for funding and of course they send him a cut of their profit. The leader of the whole smuggling organization was Victor Varga. He was at the base in person to handle that particular operation for whatever reason, so you've taken out the organization's head already.

(I'm sorry I'm being so slow today, it's been another off day for me. I crashed shortly after you posted and have been out since.)
