Kandosii Beroya'se OOC

By P-47 Thunderbolt, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beginner Game

I apologize for stepping into an OOC for an on-going game. But I get notifications when someone quotes me (in this case the dev answer post) and I wanted to let you know that it amused me and surprised me that I was mentioned in a pbp ooc. That is until I realized it was probably a dev ruling quote.

Sorry for the interruption and continue with your regularly scheduled roleplaying.

Negotiation: 2eA+3eD 2 failures

That didn't go well. 🙄

You don't find anyone, but Maysh'la can help you out. Depends on how quickly you guys want to get the job done.

The rarity for materials is going to be an Easy check and 2,500 credits. I'm still working on a time table for the armor adjustments, but it probably won't be very long.

Okay, Superior Armor Modification DIY: 2,500/varies (Ge'tal's armor is 3, so an Easy Negotiation check), 6 hours, difficulty is crafting difficulty -1, so Hard in Ge'tal's case.

Beskar* Mandalorian armor: 2,500/8 or special, 6 hours, Hard.

*narratively

1 strain to downgrade the difficulty, and a boost from Savvy anddddd -

Negotiation: 1eP+2eA+1eB+2eC 3 successes, 1 threat
p-s.pnga-s-a.pnga-a.pngb-s-a.pngc-th-th.pngc-th-th.png

**** threats. But that’s pretty successful at least

You actually reduced instead of downgrading. Downgrading is changing a red to a purple. Rolling two Difficulty dice to replace the latter Challenge die: forgot a die: 2eD 0 successes, 2 threat
d-th.pngd-th.png

Huh. Ends up not changing anything. That works! Just take 1 Strain for the Threat.

You reduce the total price by 300 credits (15% of the 2k).

Is that it? Is everyone ready to continue? If so, @ShockHelix, please go ahead and narrate the trip. Darien insists on going along for backup, whether the rest of the team goes or not. Presumably, Ge'tal went her way to try and find someone to modify her armor, so if you wish, @Tramp Graphics, you may narrate her search (or just skip it since nothing happened). Darien would (try to, at least) insist on her taking backup because of the Black Sun. Anybody want to join her, @RuusMarev?

After your shopping is done, what is the plan from here (plus, any other shopping you want to do)?

Cade and Kara can backup Ge'tal if she wants to get some supplies, honestly they are intrigued by the armor upgrades as well... they'll probably look into it after this job :D

Okay, if everyone is done with shopping, what's on the agenda? Where to go from here?

C&K are good to go if Ge'tal is..

One question. If @ShockHelix' character is doing the Superior Armor attachment for my armor, does that mean I'm paying her for the attachment?

Yes, at whatever price she proposes (unless you want to try to negotiate Maya down). Base cost of 2,500 for materials, the rest is up to Maya.

OK. I always looked at the price for Superior as the price of materials. Either way, I can give her the 5000 credits.

It depends on the attachment. With the fluff text for it, it talks about a craftsman working on it, so I figured a split comparable to the crafting rules made sense.

Finding the materials will be an Easy Negotiation check.

I agree, that's why I specified the Superior attachments (I.E. Superior Armor attachment, Superior Weapon attachment, Superior Hilt attachment). This is because, as with all attachments, it is the end user that ultimately does all of the "work" to "apply the attachment" to his or her gear, and many attachments, such as Superior and Cortosis Weave (which includes Beskar), and lightsaber crystals, are really just the raw materials, with the "Craftsman" being the PC applying the attachment in question.

I believe that's why there are no attachment crafting rules in the game, nor Mechanics checks required to attach them. It's because many attachments, are pretty much just materials, not complex mechanisms.

That was what I was originally referring to initially when I first asked to look for buying the attachment. I'm referring to the materials to upgrade my armor. The rest is just "fluff". 😎

Negotiation: 2eA+1eD 2 successes

Okay, that's 2,500 credits for materials, and now, given time, Maya can modify your armor.

I’ll leave that up to @RuusMarev and @Tramp Graphics if they’re willing to wait to progress until Maya shapes the materials into the Superior Attachment. I figure that’s going to be the difference if we want to really handle it properly narratively.

I do believe somewhere in the rules it specifies attachments are easily slottable, but I figure for something like a Superior customization, you were saving the money here on someone not having to make it to fit your armor first, And instead just supplying Micah with what she needs to make that for you.

Regardless, if you are both fine with waiting for that, @P-47 Thunderbolt How long is it going to take me to put it together?

While I share Tramp's desire for the upgrades, I don't think C&K have the resources at the moment. :)

(short of a loan/good will of the group. Once this operation is completed, I will request the upgrades for C&K....)

until then, I'll have to make sure Cade isn't as reckless as he has been in past missions :)

@ShockHelix, 6 Hours, and I changed my mind on the check (sort of). For the DIY armor adjustment mods, we'll use the passive rules for checks, so since you have more dice than Hard, you pass automatically (that way we don't have to deal with fluke failures or advantage/threat). It'll just be a time issue.

For ease of use, we'll just say that it's ~10:00 AM or so, so 6 hours would put that to 4 PM, leaving plenty of time for stuff to happen. Plus, the party could make other preparations or scout out the location or something while you are working on it.

If by chance... if there is a bounty in the area, that does not have connections to the Hutt, or Blacksun that would fund the material needed for upgrades..... :D :D

(Otherwise, C&K could offer to head to local bars and see what kind of troops the Hutt has available..go in, have a drink, don't start any trouble..)

That last bit might be hard for Cade... :D

For either option, we can abstract it with a couple rolls and let you narrate it. Which option do you want to go with?

Dar and Vhal could cover the bar, though there is still the issue of sticking out like a sore thumb... maybe they should go shopping for that armored clothing you'd mentioned.

We could always go to the ‘bank’ first and see if the credits in the account are there. Which I’m sure they aren’t. Because @P-47 Thunderbolt Has been very clearly attempting to temper our expectations of that 300k being there with Darien regularly saying they may have moved them.

Yeah I know what you’re up to you little sneak.

That's actually just Darien being practical (and slightly pessimistic, but not very). I've been trying very hard to have minimal bleed-over between the GM and the PC of GMPC.

It really depends on how things go as to whether the credits are still there, and whether you manage to claim them. I try not to have predetermined outcomes.
