Reach of the Empire IC

Kaaris appears to consider Hale’s questions, but ultimately offers little more than what has already been surmised. “Others here..? Just my men, and some hopeless merc who fancies himself a bounty hunter, to my knowledge.. but you are looking for more..”

Following a brief pause and a searching look, he continues. “Look.. My people have been hard dealt with the empire, and are sstruggling to ssurvive. Doctor Voss is resspected, and we have found ssomething of a home here. Let uss help root out thiss sseditiouss element with you, and continue to sserve as Ssecurity when the empire departs. My men will follow my lead, now Crickss’ss influencce iss gone. We can quell thiss rissing sstorm, here at leasst.”

Hale tilts his head back for a moment as if thinking carefully, then shakes his head sadly. This is... pushing my luck. But he's lying. I'm sure of it. If I'm wrong... "No dice, fish-face. Last chance. Level with us, or I call in my boss. Believe it or not, I don't want to do that." Hale sighs theatrically and shakes his head, "I can't believe I'm going soft like this, but I'll give you just one more chance . One more." He holds up his finger just under the man's face to make his point. "I may be a nice guy--comparatively, I'll grant you--but I'm no fool. I know about the lower levels, and I know you know. So sing, baby, sing..."

12 hours ago, Rimsen said:

Fortunately for Evon, the 2-1B working opposite of him noticed the Inquisitor entering the Medbay so he had a moment to prepare before he asked for report. Evon turns and salutes.

,,Yes, my lord! The gunman had two major wound, one in the abdomen and one that went through the pleura. We stabilized him for now, but first we need his injuries at least heal enough to move him to the bacta tank. I estimate he will be ready for interrogation in about 12 hours. The pilot is stable and ready for questioning."

Very Good Doctor, I will escort her to a Cell myself.” The inquisitor said menace filled in his voice “ She will be broken just like the bounty hunter.” He stands over the body of the pilot the Doctor was tending to.

Evon almost felt pity for the woman, but it faded quickly. ,,She isn't a symptom. She is part of the problem. These dissident bring only chaos with them."

,,You heard him, sweetheart. You are getting a new condo. No roommates, central placement. You'll love it." Then, he starts to uncuff the pilot from the medical bed.

“Ssquamatan. My people are called thiss in the Bassic tongue, due to ssome few sshared characterissticss with the Order Ssquamata. Ssnakess and lizzardss. Not fissh.”

The former foreman, turned ringleader, levels his gaze at Hale, as best he can in the cramped shipboard cell.

”My men are not rebelss, they are jusst aimlesss and dessperate. I don’t know what it meanss, but lasst musster, Crickss lined them up in order of height. Kept the five tallesst off to the sside, ssaid he had work for them. Haven’t sseen them ssince.”

Hale shrugs, "I'm no botanist. You look like a fish." He puts his hand firmly on the squamatan's shoulder, "Thank you for your cooperation. If we need you, we'll be back in touch."

He and Luks leave the cell and walk out of the ship's detention area. "Luks, call it a hunch, but how much you want to bet those five tall squamatans end up being the death troopers we're supposed to tangle with? I know it's a six-man team, but who's to say he hasn't got one more up his sleeve? Call me crazy, but..."

The rebel pilot blinks a few times, as though just awakening, though her feigned sleep had not really been fooling anyone. When she sees the Inquisitor, she suppresses a shudder, and smiles.

”Unless I’ve been out longer than I think, you’re about a cycle early. You’re supposed to be Darth Vader, right? The helmet’s a bit off, but I admire the effort you obviously put into your costume.”

Drogos simply smiles under his helm, it was always more fun when he got to break a Cocky prisoner. Taking the pilot and binding her arms together he walks her to a Cell.

He passes by both Hale and Luks as he picks a cell and then pushes her in with some force as to make her trip over herself. " Tell me everything you know, Now! I am not the patient type." The Inquisitor Snarled as he took out his Lightsaber and gripped it.

“I am Lieutenant Tamla Kray, Callsign Gold-9, Gold Squadron. My favorite color is green.”

“I grew up in a small terraforming colony in the Dorellia Sector...”

(Your 4 Successes can gain more than name, rank, callsign, and favorite color.

@Shlambate Post more specific questions, and she’ll give up some answers- but pilots are trained to hold up under interrogation, and “tell me everything” will get you her life story, without much useful intel).

So cocksure and full of herself, clearly she thought she could mess with the Inquisitor, but it seems the was indeed scared, he would need to see how much he could out of her before she started resisting again," Lieutenant... hmm, s o you are of some import... " The Inquisitor says as he paces around her, " Good, t ell me how many rebels are there in your Cell, and where are they hiding?" He stops infront of the Pilot's face and stares intensely at her, Drogos' glare can be felt through the mask.

“I am a commissioned officer, as is to be expected. Those who would rebel against the empire are legion, and organized. More so, every day. I served in a flight of three Y-wings from Gold Squadron for this mission. I wanted to get in with Green Squadron, but to my dismay, they were full-up. Did I mention green is my favorite color? Anyway, twelve fighters to a squadron, all the colors of the rainbow. I’m afraid the location of our base is classified.”

The pilot is putting on a good show of bravery, but giving the Inquisitor just enough, hoping he doesn’t decide to kill her outright.

The Inquisitor unamused picks the prisoner off from the ground and pins her against the wall, his saber still in his right hand he kept it down by his side not yet directly threatening the woman but in view nonetheless, his left forearm kept the woman in place. " You try my patience." Drogos growls as the pilot failed to answer the question on location. " Where is your base! How many of you are there! I want exact information. Anything less..." He did not finish the sentence as the threat was implied. letting the silence carry the message.

Lieutenant Kray adjusts her level of cooperation, somewhat, in light of the Inquisitor’s very real threat.

”Look.. Locations, leadership.. it’s all compartmentalized. For obvious reasons. Gold Squadron is based out of an old Mon Cal 40 light cruiser. Not sure what the transponder shows up as, but we call it the Recalcitrant. My Flight’s mission was successful, so the MC40 will be long gone by now.”

This information is obviously not what the Inquisitor was looking for, but she seems to be telling the truth.

"Does this Recalcitrant Base itself on this world or does it call a different port home?" Drogos says varying up the question to see what the woman may know, it seems Lieutenant was not high enough rank for him to get exactly what he wanted.

“You are entirely missing the point of a mobile base of operations. The Recalcitrant has no home port. Refueling tankers and replenishment ships provide for its needs, as necessary.“

" And you are this close to being a Shish Kebab." Drogos says as he gestures with his Lightsaber, " You mean to tell me you have no Idea where they have gone, that you have no clue where this mobile base is headed?" Drogos applies pressure on the hold he was keeping the woman pinned to the wall with.

The pilot tries to squirm out of the Inquisitor’s grasp, but to no avail; she finds he has her firmly pinned to the bulkhead in the cramped cell, the crimson glow of the saber in close proximity, tempts her with its offer of swift release. It is only a matter of time before they identify me as a defector. The best I can hope for is a long string of interrogations, followed by a firing squad.. . “Is it in yet?” she breathes huskily, but with a resigned determination, as she attempts to goad her captor into action, twisting herself closer to his blade.

Meanwhile, as Hale and Luks exit the Stormcrow’s detention area, they find Doctor Vos accompanied by a Death Trooper heading up the ramp, almost as though conjured by Hale’s musings.

”Sergeant Major. I have been appointed Director of Cybernetic Research, and am to take charge of the Watercrest Clinic, in the name of the Empire. Exercises have been cancelled, and Fire Team Dorn has been reassigned to my security detail, and redesignated as TI-33. This is Commander DT-F22.”

The Commander addresses Hale, in turn: “ TK-210. Banshee Squad will assist in securing the rebel communications site located beneath the resort. Report to Lift S16 in ten minutes.” The Commander’s speech is not encrypted, as it typically would be when communicating with his team, but the voice is still heavily modulated, with an almost mechanical sound and cadence to it.

Hale salutes, "Yes sir! We'll be there." Okay, not a fish. But that's only one of the six... Hale struggles not to double over laughing and sets about rounding up his men and getting into his armor as quickly as possible.

Now in full armor, Hale checks to make sure he has all his various weapons, then holds the Z-6 across his chest and walks out of the ship at the head of his squad. The Banshees move quickly to the designated rendezvous, arriving just in time.

As the pilot begins to struggle the Inquisitor immediately turns off his weapon and throws the woman to the floor. “ I still have use for you...” He says then outstretched his hand and lifts the pilot with the force. “ I will determine how and when you die. Not you.” He Announces with great fury and yet great happiness in his voice, sadistic happiness but joy nonetheless, Drogos grips tightly around her throat with the force. “ I will enjoy breaking you, the cocky yet stupid are always good fun.”

The pilot gasps, helpless in the Inquisitor’s thrall, eyes panicked as her legs jerk and kick at the deck below, just out of reach...

Lift S16 is the same lift the bounty hunter assassin had been captured in, the one Inspector Ostell had investigated upon their arrival. The Commander, now accompanied by five other death troopers, arrives on site at the same time as Briar and the Banshees. Nodding to Hale, DT-F22 addresses him first: “Get those barrels spinning if you want, but just for show- unless we face stronger resistance than we expect. The rest of you, set for stun. Carbines and pistols. This is an intelligence outpost. We want them alive, and their equipment undamaged. Let’s move.”

As the troops quickly enter the lift, the Commander speaks softly to Briar. “Inspector. Aspects of our missions have been kept strictly need to know. My orders from Yularen are to secure the first six sublevels not included in the schematics, and leave the deeper floors “undiscovered” at present, unless they compromise themselves to us. Understood? Now, if you will do the honors?” (The Commander motions expectantly at the keypad inside the lift).

(I believe Briar is able to access the sublevels without rolling for it again, if I recall correctly

@Imperial Stormtrooper ).

Hale caresses the love of his life, "I'll leave her behind, then." Sorry, baby, looks like you'll have to wait a little longer. He holds the Z-6 up to his helmet and gives it a mock kiss, then looks around for a good spot to leave it.

He tests the new modification to his gauntlets, powering up the shock circuits, then powering them off. Then he flicks out his wrist blades and retracts them, testing the mechanism. Then he draws his SE-14c, flicking it to stun setting and then double-checking it to make sure he doesn't make Luks's mistake.

Briar, now wearing her armor, looks at the death trooper's expressionless mask "I understand, commander." she then heads over to the panel setting aside her E-11D, and entering the access for the first hidden sublevel. Briar picks up her weapon as the doors begin to close and switches it over to stun, before double checking her armor.

Briar can’t help but notice there are only six hidden sublevels now listed on the screen before her, designated Aurek through Esk. For just a moment, she wonders if, in her haste, she may have been in error about the additional sublevels? But only for a moment. Her analytical mind quickly reassures her that the previous display did indeed go down to level Osk.

For your stubborn attitude you get to sleep” Drogos says as he uses the force to make the pilot go unconscious. As soon as the Woman’s eyes close from lack of air he lets her throat loose and rests her on the floor. “ For your sake be more cooperative next time.”

As he exits the cell the Inquisitor notices that the ship was rather empty. Turning on his communicator he speaks up “ Agent, My Pilot, Doctor Report in, where are you.”

" Currently with the Phantom overseeing her cleanup after our last engagement. Awaiting orders."

Ral pauses as he studies his ship, and thinks back to the encounter.

"Actually, sir, I would like to join you at the interrogation of the pilot. I've just had some ideas that might aid us..."
