Yeah, it was awesome!
Did you all remember to stay after the credits? King Boba

I understand that the Mandalorian has it's own score, and it's distanced it self quite a bit from the films in that regard, but I just found the composition that played throughout that sequence up to the end of the episode, well... bad. Distractingly bad.

I think it was ep 14 with Slave One, Boba being a bad ***, New imp vehicle and showing the Empire at their all time most Evil... Honestly, who has baby cuffs?

Wow, I think it is! (look the shape of the rear engines, the cockpit and the nose guns)

For me it's close between ep3 and ep5. I think I'll lean towards 3 since I love katee sackhoff, having her play bo was even cooler than rosario dawson playing ahsoka. Also the action was awesome and the bo music theme was bad ***.
Least favorite are 2 and 4 since both were mostly filler, granted well made and entertaining filler.

Fair disclaimer, this isn't my favorite show or even concept for one. And this season felt pretty 'balanced' I guess on quality through the whole thing, of that makes sense? Season one I would have said the 'Seven Samurai' episode. But this season I didn't really have a fav. MAYBE the Jedi, but barely.
If I could, I'd rather say what aspect of season I liked the best, and that's easily the fight choreography on the ground and in space. It's not easy to use fight scenes to convey character emotions and story arc developments. Especially when there's helmets lol.
But every fight, the lead up to it and the aftermath included, seemed to give you a sense of what's going on inside the character themselves. And usually they got beat up at least a little(could've taken more of I'm being honest), which provides stakes.
Ashoka Ninja mode in the Fog. Ashoka on the Bridge. The Bo Katan crew on the ship. The Krayt Battle. The Republic X-wing patrol. Mando versus the Sabre at the end with the spear. All the bar fights. And especially all the subtle stuff in that Luke/Vader rhyme.
There were some weak points though. The hero's plot armors are even better than beskar sometimes and that was a thorn in my heel. Lol
1 hour ago, theBitterFig said:Context is that Sabine never really won it in combat herself (hrm... well... maybe Saxon counts, but Ursa put him down ultimately...), and Bo-Katan obviously had it taken from her by the Empire.
Regardless of the technical rules, what matters is how things would be seen by the rest of the Mandos. This would have been a circumstance that'd have made Bo-Katan look weak, and she wouldn't be able to use the Darksaber as a symbol to rule.
Fair points. I didn't find it jarring at all, I really liked the throwback to good old Clone Wars Mando BS, they're all crazy. I loved Din's reaction.
Just to throw a controversial real world spanner in the *** for tat 'You terrorists killed millions', 'No you'. This is a thing that actually goes on.
But hey, this is Star Wars. It's Ok to cut a swathe through tons of mooks and then not kill the BBEG because it would be wrong .
I remember in Rebels where Sabine wouldn't use her electro turbine thingy to kill the bad guy, but is perfectly fine with setting it to blow them ALL up and running off. Kids show!
It's fiction. :tries not to cry for heartless real world partisan reasoning:

Episode 3 / Chapter 11 was my favourite as well.
I'm a sucker for the Original Trilogy alien designs, so seeing Quarren pirates in action and Mon Calimari was a lot of fun.
But then there's the Mandalorian crew as well - I haven't watched much of Rebels or any of Clone Wars, so not much investment in her character, but Katee Sackhoff is ace.
And then there's the Gozanti. And the Crane Walkers. And Baby Yoda playing with his food. And the water world set design in general looked really good.
I enjoyed episode 1 and 4 for similar reasons - 1 had the Tuskens, 4 had the Aqualish, but 3 was the standout for me.
It's been a season with pretty much only good and entertaining episodes for me, so chooseing one was hard, I can find a lot of great stuff in all of them. My most controversial thought about season 2, was I found the Ashoka episode a bit boring :/.
I really couldn't pick a favourite episode, but Conan Fett is my top moment. Just... all of the things.

The Conan Fett was both cool but also a weird place to park Boba for now. It seemed weird he sent Frennec in to do all the dirty work, and Fett never struck me as a guy who either wanted to retire in a big house like this or become a crime syndicate leader? But mostly it felt like a huge missed opportunity not having Fett meet Luke again, give them some form of closure. Its a bit of a nitpick, I know.
Same energy.

I get this, but also, I think it's a nice Conan mirror, who also sits weirdly on a throne. Many spin offs from the archetype go deep into disaffection with the role. There's a bunch of ways to look at it and a bunch of places it could go from here. I'm hyped to see where.
Mostly, I'm in love with the throb of the soundtrack and what it conveys, it's deeply badass. Part of me is hoping that the Boba story will not be age appropriate for my kids, or at the least, very on the edge. I'm not keen on Boba being a particularly sympathetic character. Depth and a moral code, sure. But not a good guy with a tragic backstory he needs to come to terms with. I'm kinda confident we won't get that, but I really don't know how.
Unpredictability has been one of the best facets of this series and long may that be a feature of Star Wars programming.

First episode and the one where Boba showed up proper.
The rest, well... Gotta' be honest. I do not wanna' see so many heavy hitters in the rest of the series. I want something divorced from The Skywalker Saga and The Mandalorian literally could not help itself. Four different lightsabers this season. Drove me ******* nuts, hate it. Season 1 was much more interesting and daring and the Dark Troopers, while very cool and menacing, were a total waste so that we could finally see Luke power scaling and give fans the Luke they cried the last three years for.
The whole season felt like wish fulfillment to me. Honestly, it
was
wish fulfillment and not a whole lot else. I
vastly
prefer the story of Season 1.
3 hours ago, ForceSensitive said:Late to the party it seems. I came in *just* to also say I liked the Rhymes of the final scene in Mando and Rogue One. That was brilliant. Really shows how the writers took that George philosophy to heart.
Okay but
should they? Honestly?
I don't think so, personally.

I don't know. Like TRoS there was cool stuff in the moment but the longer I sit on it, the poorer it ages, this season. Whole lotta' wish fulfillment and "hey you asked for it well here it is" like okay I get it Mando is a vehicle for other characters to get their own shows
can we please go back to mando being the ******* main character again?

I mean, I still want Tiya Sircar to get her jetpack, but like, I kinda feel this.
I'm less mad about a Luke cameo (I'm a sucker for him in black with that giant belt and the green saber) than I am about Rey Palpatine, but it was pretty nice for a while to have a show which had very little to do with The Star War.
Season 1 was a kinda slow burn, getting under the helmet of this guy who steps into a father role. One of my favorite moments is when Mando shoots down Toro Celican for threatening Baby Yoda. To me, it kind of symbolized putting this cute little muppet ahead of the bounty hunter fanboys who wanted just a rehash of the old EU and such. That was the moment where I really bought into the show. Sure, the first episodes were solid action, but this felt like the show could be more. Bone broth slurp. The saga of IG-11 and Mando trusting a droid? Cuill saying "I have spoken." Werner Hertzog and Giancarlo Esposito with the right mix of glamor, cruelty, and hubris to make perfect Imperials. This was what made me fall in love with the show, not "oh, he's Boba-Fett-adjacent."
For better or worse, Season 2 feels a lot like Rogue One. Fills in a lot of gaps. Looks great. Tonnes of fan service. Fake digital faces (not terrible yet I'm glad there weren't more of them). And ultimately... maybe not as great at telling a story as it could be. A lot of "oh, it's cool to see that on the screen" stuff, but at the end it feels a bit empty.

I'm going to say...
Chapter 10: The Passenger. It's got everything great about Mando. Peli Motto scamming. Grogu eating things he shouldn't be eating. Madcap droid hijinks. Space Appa Carson Teva and that moment when the X-Wings switch to the second comm channel, open S-Foils, and Mando knows he's deep in the Bantha Fodder.
There's other great moments in other episodes. Tuskan Raider Sign Language. Fish man in in a fisherman sweater. Ceiling hose chowder dispenser . Blue-milk flavor cookies. Boba swinging that Gaffi stick. But as a whole, I'm going 10.
So now that we know that:
A) There's an Ahsoka show coming out during the timeline of the mandalorian.
B) Hayden Christiansen is coming back for the Obi-Wan show.
C) Disney is willing to use a CGI enhanced younger Luke Skywalker.
There NEEDS to be a scene in the Ahsoka show where she meets Luke, and sometime during
their encounter the ghost of Anakin appears to both finally have a scene with Luke as well as reconcile with Ahsoka
.
........
...Seeing Luke again in action again...was the single bestest thing I think I have seen in a while...the moment I saw the lone X-wing coming in...Grogu and Gideon's reactions...the black robe and tunic...the green blade...I had the biggest, STUPIDEST smile on my face. Seeing R2 come in soon after was the ****ing cherry on top.

Potentially controversial subject, but representation done right?
Bo-Katan, Koska Reeves, Fennic and Cara Dunne. It didn't even occur to me that Mando's entire boarding party was female until I saw it pointed out in a YouTube summary video.
It wasn't highlighted, exaggerated or presented as unusual in any way. The series didn't even attempt to make a big deal about it. As a result, it felt totally natural.
Seeing the team blasting their way through the Artiquens, kicking assets from one end of the ship to the other was awesome.

Yes this. Unlike Infinity War.
Though my wife was onto it immediately, GO GIRLS!
Understated representation wise, I also like that Boba was basically just a gruff taxi driver after the Gaffi Stick into feature.

Exactly, but I feel the whole nerds don't like strong female characters angle is such a contrived narrowminded opinion, as there is strong female characters im most nerd franchises. Just give us believable motivated characters, and sex don't matter to the general nerd.
