It was there in Empire. The only things I can find on it call it a diagnostic port, but it doesn't look like those are anything official.

No. It looked weird to me all clean. I can understand the characters cleaning it in-universe, it just seems less cool as a viewer.

That’s the original large size action figure from the vintage Kenner line, that’s exactly what I was thinking of when I saw the new paint. That really takes me back, still have the belt and the backpack but the figure has lost its way over the years.
