Jailbird and the Desperatos IC

By TheShard, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion Beginner Game

Dex spies the tail, but figures it's probably just standard protocol in this circle. A sensible precaution. He's pretty sure Kaimer spotted the tail, too, but whispers just in case, "This goes South, we take the guy behind us first." He laughs and jostles his friend, as though at some private jest, as they continue along with their exaggerated Corellian swagger.

Kaimer responded a little too loudly, "Got it! THAT guy!" and laughs as well...(Oops- 4 Threat?)

"Hopefully, they'll see we're legit and have a ship worth fencing, we work out a fair and equitable trade so that both sides are happy, and then we space this rock first thing tomorrow with no trouble for anyone.

"Either that or it turns into a bloodbath and we all live unhappily ever after... Let's hope they make the deal!"

The tail follows for a few more minutes then breaks off down a side corridor seemingly unconcerned with being spotted.

You get to the docking port. The ship is still bathed in the shadow of the cliff, the whole port lingering in twilight for another hour.

The Ithorian lags as you reach the dock entrance, letting you group lead.

As the door opens and she sees the ship you see her eyes widen and an almost inaudible rumbles out the corners of her twin mouths.

Well... Well, interesting. What can i do for you?

Caess turned back to look at the Ithorian. "The ship has some... non-standard modifications, ones that the Imperials don't normally bother with, we were hoping that you could help us find any we missed, as well as give the ship a once over." Caess paused a rather long pause for him, during which he glanced at the ship "After that, we could discuss the possibility of a trade, this ship for another." Caess put emphasis on 'possibility' in an effort to make it sound like it wasn't a sure thing that they were going to trade. Since he wasn't sure himself that it was the best path forward for the cell.

"Feast your eyes on the Transport Enforcer 2 . What can I say? The empire lacks imagination in its nomenclature. There is certainly more to her than meets the eye, though I attribute our escape mostly to my own modest skill behind the stick."

Dex slaps the hull, leaning against it, and peers about for their tail. Seems to have disappeared..?

Continuing, more softly: "Oh.. And your guy that was tailing us? If you have any doubts about his loyalty, we're about to have company."

Everyone knows by now this is here. The isolation protects us from the empire, however the gossiping here is unbelievable. We should hurry as I imagine by the end of day you should be off. I had to see if the rumors are true... Moving up, but frell... Your stealing imperial ships now?

Out of a pouch on her belt, she produces a small remote. She presses a few buttons and a droid wizzes to meet them. She beckons to it.

Alright, open her up. Probably should get this started.

Kaimer chuckled with glee and looked forward to getting this transaction over and done with so they could quickly be on their way out...

He opened up the cargo bay door and lowered the ramp so they could all make their way up the ship at roughly the same time.

As she pointed out particulates in the cargo hold. She stops and inspects a grate and shackles.

This is to gas prisoners... Huh... Where'd you find this ship?

"I don't know if the Empire will track us here, but if they do the less you know, the better, I would think." Caess responded "But, if you really want to know I'll tell you." Caess looked at the grate and shackles, so that's what's special about this holding bay, I wonder why a standard detention area wouldn't work for what they were doing with this ship.

Right... Yeah nevermind...

She continues to look it over pulling a data pad from between a console and the bulkhead.

Don't say i never gave yah nothing...

She flips it to the nearest person.

All the while the droid is scanning and running diagnostics.

In pretty good shape... Engines though need some maintainence looks like they've been put through the ringer...

She finishes up and collects the droid.

You want this scrubbed or dumped? I'll get you prices shortly.

"Let's go with Scrubbed," Kaimer said walking up and joining the conversation. "We've got a few ideas in mind for this bird and I think as long as it gets a good cleaning we should be just fine."

Ah good choice! We can start making bets on when we your wanted posters go up!

She has a weird smirk, a strange expression when coveyed with two mouths.

She starts calculating a few things and the ln smiles even more.

Ah this'll be pricey... My favorite kind. All while going to a good cause... Your suicide.

She winks at the group.

So if this is in hard cred, off the grid yah know much cheaper... If its n ot then I'm gonna have to charge a fee to scrub thos too... Then there's a trade, airways need things this far out...

Hold on let me see if "No-one" can give you a discount... Yeah know for charity.

You don't know if she's talking about your rebellious activity or your apparent poverty.

Let's talk about Trade. That would work better for both of us... I'm sure that our groups can find mutually beneficial opportunities together.

What is it you need? I'm sure there are special "services" we can provide that you definitely need...

"My friend here has the right idea. We are positively rich in talent. Speaking for myself.. if you need a getaway, I'm your Ace in the hole ." Dex displays a grin full of confidence, wondering if this cell has anything currently in the pipeline, that might benefit from their unique set of skills..?

Well usually I'm talking about, parts, scrap, ships, cargo... yadda yadda... But your speaking of services? Well uh... Huh I'm a bit stumped.

Ok, i got something for you...

She shuffles back and forth contemplating.

Well...

She double smiles and very mischievous smile.

...got a guy who needs a ride...

"He needs a ride?" Kaimer said looking at Dex, "Great! How hard can it be to get him where he needs to go? We've got the best pilot in the closest 5 Star Systems! Give us the details over drinks while we get this ship "cleaned up"!"

Dex strives to maintain his own smile, while attempting to interpret the Ithorian's expression. There is a twinkle in her eyes.. a challenge, almost? "Sure. Now we're talking. Tell me what I need to know."

"A ride?" Caess said with some suspicion "Where to? I wouldn't think that a ride to just any place would be full payment." he hoped that the Ithorian just overvalued how much getting of this planet was worth, but he doubted it. And, if Caess' doubts were right then either their passenger wasn't your average galactic citizen or his destination was not going to be easy to reach.

Oh of course it ain't full payment!!

She laughs a belly laugh, the low oboe like sounds echoes in the closed landing dock.

So I'll give you the coordinates. But what do you plan to do to explain this beast?

You plan on giving it a new identify? Forge or you gonna steal an imperial one? You trying to pass it off as civilian what's your angle?

She flips you a locater.

Hey get to the coordinates here.

She hands you a flimsiplast sheet with a scrawled hyperspace address.

Wait for a bit they'll get a hold of you tell yah where too...

Kaimer said, "I think we're going to have to forge a new one. What do you say we copy the name of one and change the transponder. That way if the Empire questions us it might buy us a few seconds to hyperspace out or fly in if we need to.

"As far as modifications go, what do you say? Can you add a few hidden storage holds and get her identity cleaned up?" Then looking at Dex and his other companions Kaimer added, "So, let's get to this meeting point and let's do this!"

"Also, I know we'd be much obliged to you but I'm thinking that we should probably enhance when and where we can... Do you think you could assist us with installing an Advanced Targeting Array? We'll definitely owe you now even more... Another $4,000 Credits or so."

Once our business concludes, Kaimer is going to buy everyone a drink and politely ask about the Voice that got into everyone's heads... and if it's possible to block it out next time and if so, with what?

"I'll take 4k down payment... But what I'm about to do is temporary, don't get cocky with this, a good look over and your screwed. When you bring my guy back I'll get something permanent hooked up... Also might wanna bring along a holonovel, this ain't a trip around the block..."

"Roger that!," Kaimer happily steps back and allows payment to be made. He looks at the others as he ponies up his part and contributes 1,000 credits.

Dex flips the locator about in his hand, self-consciously, letting the others discuss the finances. His reduced circumstances are a sore spot with the proud pilot; while nominally a Lieutenant, being on the Alliance payroll.. hadn't paid, as yet.

Looking up, his eyes meet Kai's. "I'll have to let you handle the Corellian contribution this time, pal. When I have it, you know I'm all about investing in our ship."
