Vader's Fist is so risk vs reward right now. When I played you you started with double Vader's Fist which slowed me down tremendously. I fought tooth and nail to blow up two objectives. When I played Shad I started with double Vader's Fist only to be greeted with his double Prepare for Evacuation. Man that game ended quickly...

So, what happened at Tower today? Was it a nice turnout? Who one? Do we know what they played?

There were 4 of us (me, Shad, Graham and Benesh). We did a round-robin and after 2 rounds the scores were 10,9,9, and 8. Which was interesting because even though I had gotten modified losses, and was at the bottom, it was still possible for me to win. I didn't. Shad swept me and won the tournament, although I think technically Benesh may have won.

Shad and I were both playing speeders and Sith control with shockwave. His DS deck had shielded star destroyers and mine had Vader's Fist. Graham played a sleuth scout deck and the Gencon DS deck. Benesh played "Weequay love" (i.e. "no disintegrations" weequay sith control) and LS Chewie/Falcon/Luke/Yoda/Gotals, which I found surprisingly effective.

My wife and I just moved up to the twin cities area (west bloomington to be exact) about 2 months ago and I would really like to find some good places to play board games and meet new people. I also just got into this card game but it is so hard to find people to play with! I am just a new player but would love to meet up and play with you guys sometime!

Greetings! - Graham here, I work Monday nights at Tower games - Which is in fact, board game night there is a meetup for it on the webtrons. We do all sorts of board games and stuff pickup games your not required to bring anything just show up and get into a game (board games start at about 5-5:30) and then whenever they finish a new one starts until about 11:30.

We also have a Star Wars league running Wednesdays.

And it just so happens I'm a huge Star Wars LCG gamer myself and show up with 3-4 decks every monday!!!

Am I even going to be able to compete with you guys? I would like to play the game more before investing any more money into it. Where is Tower games and how close is it to bloomington? Also, has the Wednesday league already started? If it is not too late I would be interested in joining!

Hello Patrick. Tower Games would actually be one of the closest sites to you that has an active Star Wars LCG community. They have a regular Monday night FFG night and now the league. Universe Games in uptown does monthly tournaments and occasionally Erik organizes a tournament Saturday night at the Event Center. ...which he hasn't done for awhile (cough cough).

I hope to see you at one of those places. and strongly recommend if you like the game to bite the bullet and get a 2nd core set.

Navy can build some decks with 1 core set that are competitive, if your willing to shell out and get some force packs you could make a mean rebel deck with only 1 core. Hoth decks dont really need core that bad at all, when im at the shop on mondays your more then welcome to play with my decks to test stuff out too see if you wanna jump in. I love it personally i play alot of netrunner to and while i enjoy it SW is my fave game.

Benesh is running it currently but i think he is out next wednesday there should still be people playing but ive been very busy teaching, have not been able to make it myself.
