You may realise that you can live a good life without the constant reminder that you are evil and bad and sinful. And you can still do good things. In fact, you may meet a bunch of good people that don't deserve to rot in **** for an eternity because they committed the grave sin of not-being-christians.

that's why I'm saying the motivations, all the genocide and suffering in the bible, make way more sense when you know yahweh is a war god. I've actually provided them an out to the argument about why god causes so much suffering.

I don't live life with the constant reminder that I'm evil. I live with the constant reminder that I am made in the image of God and that I am loved by Him. I live with the reminder that I have a hope of eternal life in paradise and I can't imagine living any other way.

But that's not at all what was being said. You said the bible was completely fake, and Bravo Null said that no, some of it is true. Because it is. There is historical truth that can indeed be proven not just that jerusalem exists.

You are trying, very very hard, to make this into a binary issue, where either everything from the bible is wrong, or nothing is.

That is wrong. A book can feature real people and places and still be considered fiction. In fact, many ficticious books feature real places.
