more scum and villainy

I feel that anyone who still thinks that Disney will want to put the sequel trilogy (an era they seem to be running from as fast as they can) in Legion before Scum & Villainy (heavily represented in what is easily their most popular current Star Wars property) is...let's just say not paying attention .

You're probably right. Which, I really don't want for Legion, but worse things could happen. I just get this sinking feeling that somehow scum will have super power creep problems.

They would never do that! (eyes' CW era nervously)

If they would take their time and balance things before releasing them, they shouldn't have a problem, but they tend to get excited and try to cram stuff out the door asap (to make money) and sometimes fudge it. It could be woefully underpowered. If they get the "feel" right I could care less what the power level is. It should feel like a rag-tag every man for themselves (kind of like the Rebels play, but nasty) kind of army. They might even have a worse kind of suppression or panic value, you can hire them to flip sides, j/k.

Actually, I see way more opportunities for the Imperials from this show than anything else so far in the last 40 years

The cloaked figure is Sasha Banks.

A pro wrestler? Interesting.

So, what is everyone's thoughts about the planets we see in the trailer? Illum? Mon Calamari? Tatooine for the 9,784th time?

Illum?

Considering we see that Illum is stripped down during the GCW in the Jedi Fallen Order game (similar to the shape of Starkiller), it could be a chance to touch on what was happening during the post-Return development of the superweapon.

Or it could just be somewhere else that's cold. The galaxy is a big place lol

Maybe it's Ziost!

I'm hoping Rhen Var, personally, but chances are it'll be somewhere the audience is familiar with to provide name recognition and value.

I would like to see Manaan over the Mon Cala homeworld

Do we know if this was Ilum?

So I was thinking, Mando's quest is to find Jedi. This is shortly after RotJ, so the most recent/well-know Jedi around would be Luke Skywalker, hero of the Rebellion. Maybe he's trying to track Luke down, hitting Tatooine and Hoth, 2 places he's known to have been.

I'm hoping this isn't the case, because not everything in Star Wars needs to connect to the Original Trilogy or the Skywalker family, but it seems like a possible plot.

A couple comparison shots make it look like Mando is visiting the same temple as seen in Fallen Order on Illum. Not confirmed, but it fits with Filoni's style.

And based on the dialogue last season, he clearly has no clue Luke or the Jedi are. Hitting up worlds with known associations with the Order (like Illum) would make sense, but maybe he ran across someone with a clue, and they said "Jedi? You mean that Luke Skywalker dude that half the Empire was looking for a few years ago?"

They've announced the "Clan Wren Unit Expansion".

My only disappointment with it: it doesn't include a heavy weapon mando option, like the character we see in the show.

Seeing as how it's the same guy (Filoni) involved in all three of those series, I imagine he has a reason for that change. Probably, as stated above, a cultural change because of the purge.

Could be a cultural change at some point (possibly due to the purge), and/or a clan specific behavior. Maybe some of both (when clan Wren decides to help the rebellion, they maybe had to take on an extra level of anonymity). Or maybe non-native Mandalorians (those adopted into a clan, instead of tracing their lineage back to Mandalore) have to keep their helmets on until they achieve some rank within a clan or something.

Could also be maybe religious hardliners, or a specific sect of their religion/faith?

I'm hoping that with the rumors of Sabine possibly appearing, we might get some further insight into difference between various Mando groups/clans in the post-original trilogy world.

Clan Wren may be Mandalorians, but they are from the show Rebels, not from The Mandalorian.

It might be speculation, but I was sure that there was some connection between Clan Wren and who we see in The Mandalorian.

Well, and there are several characters from Death Watch and several different factions within the politics of Mandalore from Clone Wars and Rebels and now Mandalorian that have evolved.

I guess we'll see how much detail they give us
