THE MANDALORIAN, in a Civilized Age

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in Star Wars: Legion

Several interesting new additions with that episode.

More deep video game cuts. And the facility hints towards what I predicted the child was being sought after for. Though I think the contents themselves are a red herring and it's more linked in with the final scene than with you know who.

No, Stan Edgar from Vought

I really hope we still get some Death Troopers in this season, though. I would imagine there would still be a place for them, but I also could see the show keeping them out of this season to avoid confusion between Death Troopers and Dark Troopers.

I don't even play Imperials, but I picked up a box of Death Troopers to paint during this season.

Poor Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors. First they lose out on getting credit for stealing the death star plans, now they are about to lose credit for taking down the Dark Trooper project!

Unless... they're going to re-introduce them ;) It wouldn't be above this show's ability to reach into Legend's lore. Like perhaps just mention the republic's operatives that are working on this project :)

I hope that transport speeder gets released since we have rules for it now. Dark troopers with dark sabers vs bo+katan in 2 episodes!

What is that, two units of dark troopers? How many points is Gideon about to spend on these guys? Not even getting into upgrades...

I think it's more than just 2 units of Dark Troopers (DTs). I looked at this photo of the scene.

mandalorian-dark-troopers-1245877-1280x0

I counted 9 DTs on one wall. There were 2 walls. That give Moff Gideon 18 DTs. Figure 2-3 per unit so we're looking at 6 or 9 units of DTs.

Is it Friday yet?

There have been some deep cut lucasarts references already. Could happen.

What if The Jedi is...Katarn!? (never gonna happen)

Jason Court, the actor who portrayed Kyle Katarn in DF2, now runs a winery in California...

Mandalorian is filmed in California...

Kyle Katarn confirmed!!

After seeing what the Imperials have available to them in the latest episode, I'm really worried about Ahsoka's survival in the next episode.

Dave ain't gonna kill his girl like that.

I hope not, especially with her being probably one of the most, if not THE most, popular character in the Star Wars franchise, particularly with the female fan base. I don't think Disney would let a cash cow like that go away.

Yeah not like that unpopular Luke Skywalker that never sold an action figure if it was the last toy on the shelf.

Different times, man. Also the Ahsoka character is still in her prime. It would be rather different to kill her off now than after, say 40 years of her being a central character to the fan base.

There's John Snow killing and Ned Stark killing.

Hmmm. Did anyone feel the tone was just a little too brutal for ashoka? Still cool, but just felt a little off..... also WTFBBQTHRAWNAMEDROP

At first, but it wasn't overall. Good episode. Lots of fan service, some highlynexpected, some not. I thought it felt almost like an old testament set up, with nods towards samurai stuff too.

NOT the best Star Wars ever though, like some are claiming.

I'm giving them benefit of the doubt for this season assuming rushed shooting/editing due to covid and the rumored on set drama with pedro (whatever it was). That said, if we get a s3 it really needs to move a bit beyond standard video game quest storytelling with a bunch of easter eggs and cameo's smattered in.

Again... this is what the show IS. It’s like looking for Clone Wars to have an overarching plot, or Rebels to get beyond the Ghost family.

I'm totally fine with this by the way. But the love is mostly fan service. A lot of people won't have a clue who Asoka is.

Kind of glad she's made her debut though, as all the hype was about her or other cartoon characters. It's Mando's show though and we've had loads of curveballs, which is great

Season 2 is following a similar format to season 1. He goes on side quests, meets a bunch of people, then they all come together at the end of the season to confront Gideon. Give all the characters one more go around by season's end, maybe Sabine to tie in Bo-Katan and Ahsoka with a little Ezra reference.

Then in the next couple months we'll get announcements for spin off series for Ahsoka chasing down Thrawn and maybe a separate one for Bo-Katan trying to re-establish Mandalore.

How about a Cara Dune prequel showing a bunch of Rebel Shock Troopers fighting imperial warlords?
