D'avia shifts, moaning in pain as Kara picks her up. Her eyes gaze ahead listlessly, uncomprehending of her surroundings.

Leilani jumps at the crack, putting her hands up in front of her face defensively. "I'm doing the best I can! Look, see for yourself." She points to the progress bar on the screen, a bar that has slowed to a crawl but is getting close to done.

When Kara and Ge'tal exit the hotel and start walking through the rain towards Caton's police speeder, Kara takes a quick glance around for any backup or other threats. Not seeing anything, the pair continue on cautiously. Caton pokes his head up from the other side of the speeder, looking at the approaching Mandos with apprehension. His partner reaches in and grabs the radio and Kara picks up some of his end of the conversation: "They have a hostage. Standby." Caton levels the stun blaster at them, braced against the hood of the speeder. "Hold it right there, don't move. You aren't making this any easier on yourself. Release the hostage and put your hands over your head."

Cade leans in slightly, Be honest with me... Where do you get your.. guests.. these runaways.. who transports them here?

Kara slowly moves to set D'avia down on the pavement. Hey! Kara calls to the officer in the speeder, and points behind her. Are you on their payroll too?

The woman manages to somehow look even more scared than she already is, trying very hard to not look death's head in the eyes. "I-I d-d-don't rea-really know. W-w-w-we recruit many f-from here, some come from offworld-" She hesitates, and Cade guesses she's not sure whether holding out, or telling everything will trigger a worse reaction from the him. "Procurement isn't my job, I-I don't know specifics, b-b-but w-w-we do d-d-do business with smugglers. On occasion."

Caton glances at his partner, who is now leveling his pistol over the roof of the vehicle, and hisses, "Shut up, Jaspar. No one's on anyone's payroll, Mando. Step away from the hostage and keep your hands where I can see them."

Kara smiled, Look, when I told Caton that what was happening here was sanctioned by his real boss, I figured he left to let you know that this... she gestured to their uniforms ..part time job wasn't supposed to be hanging around. Get out of the speeder and let us go.

Falmok perked up, listening intently to the commchannel.. Cade has found D'avia.... there seems to be some.. issues.... hang on...

Darien stiffens and turns his full attention to Falmok. Maya is already busy working on the program, but she looks up from her datapad briefly. Kurak sets his jaw tightly, staring straight ahead, seemingly primed to explode. After a moment of Falmok communicating with Cade and Ge'tal, silent to the outside world, the large Devaronian stands up and starts pacing, trying to let off steam.

Caton shakes his head, water droplets flicking off the brim of his cap as he does so. "No can do, I'm afraid. I have my job and my orders. I'm to take you in. You're under arrest. Lie face-down on the ground, arms straight out from your sides."

Kara turns her head back to the partner, What's your name? [Dar, ask the Detective for a name check, stand by...]

Falmok tilts his head, D'avia is secured.. she is...incapacitated ..Cade is securing intel, Kara and Ge'tal have moved to extraction.....

Darien looks up as Kara's voice comes over his helmet's speakers.. Caton?...... Detective, we need your judgement on a police officer... hang on, they are asking the name...

The officer shifts, trying to conceal his nameplate from Kara. She tries to get a look at it, but can't tell. What she does notice is that the officer is sweating profusely and twitching nervously, unsure of himself in this situation. Caton is cool and smooth, seemingly unfazed by these events. "Shut up, lady. On the ground now!" Four more officers come into view, moving from behind other cars and coming in behind and to either side of Kara and Ge'tal.

[Dar, I have a partial name for you.. he seems nervous to Haren, I don't think he's connected name is Jaspar.]

"[Copy.]" Darien looks to Kurak, "Know a 'Jasper'?"

Kurak stops pacing, "Jasper? Probationer. They never should've put 'im with that bastard Caton. Might've turned out alright with somebody else, but he's prob'ly on the take. Maybe guilty conscience, but don't coun' on it."

Darien puts his hand back to to the side of his helmet, "[Kara, he's a newbie. Probably on the take, but may be having second thoughts. Be careful.]"

[Copy, got a last name, just to make this more real?]

Darien asks Kurak and the Devaronian grunts, scratching the side of his face, "Locke, I think. Jasper Locke." He rumbles low in his throat, "Just patch me into your kriffing comm and let me talk! How's my daughter?"

"[It's 'Locke,' Kara. Jasper Locke.]"

Kara inclined her head to the partner. Jasper Locke... you have a choice.. you leave, you live. Go be a decent sentient. She turned back, Caton, if you don't stop pissing me off..... I'm sending pieces of you to your employers.

[Cade, hurry up.]

The computer bings and Leilani hastily pulls the datastick out, holding it out to Cade with a shaky hand.

Caton whips up the stun blaster and fires at Kara. She quickly tries to dive out of the way, slipping on the slick pavement, but the ring hits her right in the chestplate. After a split-second of confusion, she realizes that the armor stopped it entirely. It was such close range that the ring didn't have time to expand enough and just diffused when it hit the beskar.

Two of the officers, also armed with the stun guns, take cover behind parked speeders and fire at Ge'tal. But in their haste they miss, the rain throwing off their aim.

Cade turns her slightly in her chair, taking the datastick. Leilani.. Am I going to find Thorned Circle in here? he asks, holding the stick in front of her nose. The Truth, Leilani...

Kara's voice tells him to hurry up as sound of stun blasts echo over the comm.. Osik..

"Who? I don't know, I don't know!"

Cade growled, You better not... Leilani, it's your lucky night. Go find other employment, this career path has no honor. And soon will have a short, violent end. GO.

Cade made his way outside to back up the others, hammering his saber against his armor plate. Ca-TON..... Ca-TON.......Ca-TON... Cade yelled, hitting his armor in time, Get ready to pla-ay-yay!

Shabla hutuun! Kara yelled, opening fire on Caton, the shots impacting his torso, but not doing significant damage. Must be wearing armor..

Ge’tal charges at three of the thugs, Beskad in hand, and strikes at the closest, barely missing, before they fire on her at point blank range, her sudden attack throwing their aim off so that the shots fly harmlessly by.

Jasper holds his fire when Ge'tal charges at the others, trying to avoid hitting them, and wipes the water out of his face. Caton pops back up from behind the speeder, a smoking hole in his uniform showing the body armor underneath. "Pieces of me, huh? Pity they want you intact." he mutters before squeezing the trigger. Kara is nearly knocked off her feet by the stun blast this time and stumbles, feeling woozy. "Set to stun, you kriffers. Alive!" Jasper switches his pistol over to stun, but the other two are too busy dodging Ge'tal to pay much attention.

As Cade rounds the corner of the building, he sees Ge'tal engaging a group of police and.. Kara on the ground, shooting at Caton and another group making their way to flank her... Cade raised the output volume and distortion of his helmet speaker and roared a battle cry as he sprinted to the second group.

Ash'amur gar Aruetii Cade's voice echoed down the alleyway, the first officer looked up and his eyes went wide as Cade emerged from the darkness, swinging his saber and decapitating him. Cade brought his saber back and thrusting it into the next mans side as he half turned to run away.

Ge’tal closes with her target’s, and with a quick slash of her blade, opens the first’s belly like a fresh haggis. Somehow, he remains standing, he won’t last long.
