Leilani "bristles" at the accusation, though if Kurak is correct and truthful, her hands are pretty kriffing dirty. "No one who works here isn't an employee. Many of our employees ran away from bad home situations, feeling they had nowhere to turn. We gave them a well-paying job and security. If his daughter works here and he wants her back, he should have been a better father."
Kandosii Beroya'se IC
Being a Dar'buir isn't our concern.. he asked us to retrieve her. Cade told her.
Kara had a small knife out, idly running her thumb carefully across the blade. What kind of jobs do you all provide here again? She asked, slowly making her way around the desk to look at the terminal.
The woman turns her ire on Kara, "Aside from our standard hotel staff, we run an escort service. Though I assume you knew that already." She reaches out and clicks off the computer before Kara can get a good look at the screen, glaring the Mandalorian straight in her T-visor.
Edited by P-47 ThunderboltRiiight.. escort service.. Cade muttered, Well, we'll be heading up and retrieving the girl..
I'll stay here and keep her company.. Kara said as Cade and Ge'tal headed for the door.
Cade looked at Leilani and cringed. Well, he said with a shrug It was nice meeting you...
As the door closed, Kara looked at Leilani and pointed to the terminal with the knife, Turn that back on...
Cade and Ge'tal made their way up to the room that the Detective indicated in his notes. Once they arrived, they stacked either side of the door and drew their bes'kads.
Cade rapped his knucles on the door. House keeping!
After waiting a moment, there is still no response from inside the room. The sliding door requires a key-card to unlock it and gain entry, but it isn't the most sophisticated of systems and shouldn't be too hard to trick out.
Leilani Yomaros sighs, and clicks the computer on, then looks blankly at the sign-in screen, "I'm afraid I forgot the access code. Too bad."
Cade pried off the control panel and pulled the wires from the housing.. Hey Ge'ika, you ever done this bef-nnnng. Cade tarted to ask, poking around in the nest of wires, and recieving a shock as two wires with faulty insulation crossed, sending the current into the metal fibers of his glove. osik.. haren! Cade swore, as the door shuddered open.. Well now...
The door opens into a small room. The first thing that hits the pair is the smell. It smells like someone threw up. Recently. The heavy shades are drawn across the only window in the room, and there are no visible people in the room. There are a couple places to hide, though, the refreshers and under the bed being the most likely possibilities.
The smell make Cade recoil for a moment, before storming inside and looking through the two rooms. Based on the state of the bed, couch and a corner of the room, at least three people have been living here. The needles in a trash can and residue on the hard surface of a table were evidence of heavy drug use. She ran away from an abusive home, into the arms of a safe place huh? Cade asked aloud. Ge'tal, check the next room, I'll do the otherside... [Kar'ika, it's a slum in here and the girl is gone. Evidance of heavy drug use and vomit... estimating three occupancy... take the gloves off with the Manager.]
[Copy.... Hey,Leilani I've got a question...]
Kara paused, listening to Cades report of the conditions in the room and her stomach sank. [Copy...] She looked to the Manager, Hey leilani, I've got a question.. Kara swung the pommel hard into the side of her head. WHERE IS THE GIRL, CHAKAAR!?
The woman lets out a short scream of pain and recoils away, knocking items off her desk as her left arm slides across, trying to steady herself. She recovers, whimpering as she clutches the wounded side of her head, "Th-th-they had a ba-backup. In case anything went wrong. Four-thirty-three."
Through the frosted glass window set in the door, Kara sees a shadowy figure quickly approaching.
Kara draws her pistol and kicks Leilani in the head, sending her sprawling. [Room four-thirty-three Vod'e, things might be getting busy in a moment!] Kara grabbed Leilani's ankle and dragged her behind the desk, kneeling across her chest. Don't move. she ordered, jabbing a finger into her injury.
Scared and in pain, she shivers all over in fright, staring at Kara with wide, scared eyes before clenching them shut and whimpering quietly.
The shadowy figure stops just to the side of the sliding door, and Kara catches a glimpse of a dark grayish blue. The door suddenly slides open and a man in a Worlport Law Enforcement uniform steps partially into view, shielded by the door frame. "Freeze! Drop the gun and raise your hands. Slowly." He's pointing a large-bore carbine at Kara, and she recognizes it as a model of stun scattergun commonly used by law enforcement.
Crouched behind the desk, Kara shakes her head. Sorry officer, no can do.. Just finishing up on a contract.. [Heads up, we have Law Enforcement.. not sure who's side they are on yet..]
[Understood.] Cade replied, knocking on the door to 433. Room service!
Cade hears a mumbled groan followed by a smack like someone was slapped, then a muffled "Shut up."
The officer in the doorway pulls the carbine up tighter into his shoulder and braces, barking, "Step away from the hostage with your hands in the air. I'm placing you under arrest. Don't make this harder on yourself..."
The woman squirms under Kara's knee and says, "Caton, get her off! She hit me!"
Kara recognizes "Caton" as the first name of the officer the detective had warned them about: "He's in the tank completely. Don't deal with him unless you've got no choice."
aww, sweetie.. Kara purred Did you say Caton? Kara poked her head up a fraction. Caton, you di'kut! This is an internal matter. Stand down.
Cade pries open the panel..
Caton hesitates, then backs up. "Don't do anything foolish, lady." He shuts the sliding door and the shadowy figures recedes until it's out of view from Kara's angle.
Kara watches with narrowed eyes as he slinks away, then leaned forward to hover menacingly at Leilani. I think he meant that for you aruetii... Now, let's have a chat about your boss..your boss's boss... et cetera... Kara ran the small knife blade lightly down one side of Leilani's face.. Nice face.. I might keep it.....
Cade growled in frustration as he failed again with the door.. I swear vod'ika, if there is anyone armed in there, you can go nuts and kill 'em.. this is pissing me off.. ah-ha, got it!
“My pleasure,” Ge’tal purrs.
The door slides open and Cade instantly analyzes the situation: Two hostiles aiming blasters at the door, body on the bed. The two gunmen startle when the door opens, their nerves catching up with them, and Cade lunges forwards, reaching them before they can recover and fire.
As the door opened there was enough light in the room that Cade could see that th girl on the bed was the Detectives daughter. All thoughts of letting Ge'tal have her fun evaporated and a red haze filled his vision as he ran headlong to the nearest gunman, howling in bloodthirsty rage. The gunman's eyes widened in shock as Cade charged, stabbing the man in the side and knocking him down.
Ge’tal was close behind, dashing at her target with bloodlust in her eyes, she slashed him with her Beskad.
The gunman Cade attacked screams in pain as the Beskad cuts into his side, but picks himself up and runs towards the window. He fires several bolts at Cade as he runs, but he's firing blindly and only manages to tag the Mandalorian once, deflecting harmlessly off of his armor.
The other one grunts and shoves Ge'tal back, stumbling and falling onto the floor before he raises his pistol and fires, landing a glancing hit on her helmet.
Cade moves in for a deathblow, but slides in the gunman's blood on the grimy carpet, momentarily loosing his footing but quickly recovers.. Get back here Aruetii so you can die properly!
Edited by RuusMarevGe’tal lunges forward at her target, slashing him across the belly. He collapses in a pool of his own blood.
