"Well I'm afraid Mister Elysar was, uh... offed, as they say, a few days ago by one of his associates. The bank is now under new management. We would be happy to handle an account for you. With the way things are in Worlport right now, we have no further reason for hostilities, do we?"

Did he leave anything? Cade growled, and switched to the private channel The chakaar is dead.

"A wife and two kids." The man shakes his head, "Too bad. All sorts of rumors about who did him in and why, but I'm not that sort of man."

He shuts the door of the office behind Cade and gestures to a chair in front of the desk, then moves behind it and sits in his own chair.

Cade walks to the chair and looks down at it for a moment as if deciding on sitting...or unsure what it was. He turned back to the old man. Wife and kids... I ment did he leave something other than family... tell me about these rumors.

The man scrunches up his face, peering at Cade, "I said I'm not that sort of man. I only deal in facts. I don't like rumors, and I don't share them. Anything left here is company property and I am not at liberty to discuss it."

Facts... Cade rumbled menacingly as he leaned forward, placing his fists on the man's desk. Yeah, let's deal in facts, shall we? Fact: Mr Elysar was in possession of a ....retainer for our services, certain promises were made. We Mando'ade take these quite seriously. Fact: You stated he was killed, I suspect it's most likely due to this retainer. Fact: Due to your report, he has left family, which I must now consider the reason for certain language used when negotiating said retainer. Cade leaned a little closer. Fact: In my field, rumors are very seriously considered and investigated.. Rumors provided by reliable sources are encouraged and appreciated..

Cade tilted his head slightly. Were you an employee of the previous administration?

The man cringes back in his chair, trying to get as far away from the Mandalorian as possible. He starts stammering incoherently for a moment before gaining control of himself, smoothing down his coat and trying to recover some of his dignity. "Uh, yes, yes I was." He shifts in his seat nervously, "Most of these aren't, well, from what I would exactly describe as, as reliable sources, but some have... speculated that he was killed by, uh, his, err, mistress. I've known the man for years, I'm sure he wouldn't... well, anyway. Others say he was killed by people who wanted him out of the way. Errm... He was working late in his office and was later found stabbed to death. Stabbed several times in the back." The man shudders, disquieted by the thought of the usually figurative becoming literal. "No documents were disturbed, the building didn't appear to have been broken into. I-I guess that's probably why some have, uh, speculated that he had a, er, was having, an, uh, affair. And there are, even more, uh, spurious, uh, theories about, um, who, it, uh..." His face is turning red by now, as this is not the sort of subject he finds pleasant, "You'll excuse me, but I don't see how this, er, these, um, this wild speculation and gossip can, well, help you?"

Knowledge is always useful. Cade stated, slightly leaning back from the man. Is there a safe in this office, or other way of secreting documents in case of emergencies?

"W-why should I tell you?"

Cade leaned forward again, Are you happy with your job, Mr..?

"Armand Merquise, and yes, very."

Cade inclined his head a fraction, Mr. Merquise, I am only asking for what Mr Elysar promised, nothing more... If you were so inclined, I could include you in the same deal.. But, if you are quite satisfied with your position, I will leave you to it... if you assist in this small matter. If the retainer is in this establishment and you hand it over, I will go in peace and move on to my next issue of business.

He winces, considering for a moment before beginning to speak carefully and deliberately, "Do you have a contract? If so, I'm sure we can work it out with the bank or his widow, depending on the specifics of the contract. If you do not, I don't see how I can help you. There was no stock of credits set aside and earmarked for his personal use or for payment to anyone. If he had anything set aside, it was in cash and was not kept here. At least, not recorded."

Cade smirked, from the way Meruise reacted, Cade was pretty sure he knows more than he is letting on.. or at least is piecing it together. The emphasis on recording made the hair on the back of Cade's neck stand up. Are we being recorded?

He opened the private channel, <Kar'ika, have Maya look up the family name Elysar, see if you can get an address for his family. If we get our retainer, I intend to go through with our deal if they agree..>

Cade turned his attention back to the old man. Our agreement will most likely not be honored by this banks new management and was to be to the families benefit, not it's debt. Who is the new management by the way? Cade lifted a finger in warning. I think we both know who was in charge before the unfortunate activity in the city... Who picked up this piece of real-estate?

"Black Sun. When Mister Signa turned up dead, and then poor Druan, Black Sun bought us fro-" He considers for a moment, "Acquired us, anyway, from what was left of Gorka's operation. Promoted me, and here I am. What exactly was this agreement?"

Mr. Elyser was concerned with the unfolding unpleasantness going on, he asked us to relocate himself and his family. Apparently with good reason as it turns out.....

"Yeah, well... His family would take you up on that, I imagine." The man sighs and shakes his head sadly. "I can ask if she would like to meet with you..."

That would be helpful... it's just his retainer would've also been their relocation costs, which is why I'm here trying to collect it.

"Maybe she'll know more than I do... If he had a sum set aside for something like this... I don't know. Ereen might."

While Cade is inside the bank, the others are discreetly keeping an eye on it from a couple nearby postings. Ge'tal is slouching in an alley while Kara and Falmok are in a nearby tapcafe with a good view of the building, near the door in case they need to make a hasty exit. Kara is comming Maya when something catches her eye. "Xin."

Falmok turns in his seat to look in the direction Kara was looking and sees the massive Falleen, flanked by two Black Sun soldiers walking on either side. Ge'tal also sees them from her vantage point in the alley, and she's closer than the others.

Xin turns and walks quickly up the steps of the bank...

Kara grips her carbine under the poncho, imagining a crosshairs on the Falleen's head. Bang she whispers.

Falmok sighed, <Ge'tal, Cade.. heads up, Our friend Xin is approaching the bank.>

Cade straightened, Armand, did you just sell me out?

He straightens in surprise, his brow furrowing in confusion, "What? Sell you out to who? Why?"

A representative of your new employer is about to walk into the bank, the time for fun word games is coming to an end. Once he sees me, one of two options are going to go through his head. I honestly can't see it going well for you in either situation.. Cade draws his beskad and slips it back under the poncho, holding it close as to not have any outward sign of it being ready. Either he sees me, think we're working together, and probably kill you... he really doesn't like me... or give me what Elysar hid - if he did, and I'll be far enough away from you that he'll only focus on me. I would advise keeping your head down regardless.

Xin and his soldiers pass the guard and enter the bank, moving out of sight of the Mandalorians on the outside.

Armand Merquise's expression turns frightened, "Oh dear. I can't give you anything, as I don't have anything to give you."

Cade growls loudly, If I find out you lied to me.... ugh.. wait here. Cade slips out of the office and moves towards a far corner of the lobby to a small kiosk with pamphlets on the services provided by the bank.

Xin and his Falleen soldiers move straight towards the office, not noticing Cade. But Cade notices them, and sees that Xin is carrying Kara's pistol. The guards in the vestibule shut and lock both sets of doors, and two more guards enter the main lobby out of a door marked "security." As he turns and looks the other way, he sees the guards lock the doors on the opposite side as well.
