The banker had been about to express interest in the offered introduction when Maya cut him off. Nodding understanding, he dictates his terms. "Easy. This box of credits, one hundred thousand." He picks up the third box from behind the table. "Compact, simple, and easy to transport. If you can set me up with someone, I'll cut twenty-five off of that."

Gesturing to his injuries, Darien grins wryly, "Well, we do the standard hunting work. Oya araay!" He laughs weakly, "I can understand the inclination. You on your own?"
Wu shrugs.
”Mostly.” He nodded.
”Very rare to find anyone in this kind of work.”
Kriffin' chakaar! Kara swore, tossing another grenade at Xin, but it didn't seem to cause enough damage to take him out. Kara didn't like the idea of letting him keep her pistol, but she was running out of munitions.. Really need to upgrade.. baybe a flamethrower.. barbecued Falleen.. She keyed her comlink, Heads up vode, I'm stirring the pot with Xin and his Black Sun goons.. Not going so well, might need some back up... An overlay on her heads-up display showed a status bar counting down her jetpacks cool down.. Almost there.. just a little bit till I can gain some high ground..
Edited by RuusMarevThe blast and shrapnel shreds Xin's clothes and leaves several bloody gashes across his face and arms as he raises them to shield his head from the blast. His subordinates dash for cover before turning to fire at Kara, hitting her left arm.
Kara can see the armor plating that was concealed beneath Xin's now shredded clothing, a piece of shrapnel embedded in the vest which is slowly staining red. Xin roars and pulls up both pistols, firing several bolts at his adversary. Miraculously, Kara manages to dodge the salvo, the bolts seeming to almost part around her as the Falleen fires wildly. A bolt misses her visor by a hairsbreadth, the flash temporarily blinding Kara and causing the image enhancement of the helmet to fizzle, further adding to the disorientation.
Time to cut your losses Kar'ika.. Kara primes her pack and as she begins to lift off, calls back to Xin and his goons, I think you understand not to mess with Gorka the Hutt now!
<Vod'e, if you aren't on your way to Solus, I would keep an eye out for Black Sun... but if you see a Falleen in shredded clothes, I would appreciate it if you could recover my pistol...>
Kara ecellerated, headed in the direction of Gorka's casino, just long enough to further sell that it was Gorka that ordered the attack. Once she had traveled far enough, she dipped lower skimming the rooftops, and turned towards the Spaceport.
As she approached, she decelerated and landed at the edge of the boarding ramp. Vhal, send the medic to the cockpit, I'm going to start preflight. she commed, walking up the ramp and headed towards the cockpit.
Wu turned as he saw the female return.
”Your wounded.”
he noted as he began to prep his equipment again.
”Sit down, I’ll heal you.”
You're wounded..
Very observant, Doc. Kara said dryly as she slipped off her helmet and her upper plates to give him easy access to her wounds. She held up a warning finger. Touch anything you shouldn't , and you'll need a medic. Suvarir?
Wu shrugged.
”If you had known what I went through in the baa’ur training, you wouldn’t say that, so don’t worry.”
The male answered, trying not to sound awkward. It had been a rather long time since he had talked with another of his kind anyway.
The male quickly set to work, his hands flying around, yet still executing the tiniest of maneuvers precisely without any failure.
Wu then grabs a stimpack from the ship’s reserves and places it on Kara’s wounds. His prior fiddling about had not been for nothing it seemed as the female would feel the effects of the stimpack be greatly enhanced, different from what just slapping it on would do.
Kara nods, Vor'e, tion cuyir Darien? she asks as she puts her armor back on. She flips several switches and starts to warm up the Solus's engines and weapons.

“Morut’yc”
Wu replied, indicating Darien was fine.
”He just needs rest.”
Kara seemed to sag a little in relief for a moment before shifting position in her seat, continuing to prep the ship. She keyed her comlink, Vhal, how're you holding up vod'ika?
Falmok's voice sounded a little tired, but that was to be expected after this particular job. I'm fine vod'ika, just tired.. If you need me, I can assist in moments.. Just securing Darien so he doesn't fall out of his bunk, in case there is a fight.
Understood, Kara said looking to Wu for confirmation, the medic gave a small nod and shrugged. When you're finished, we'll have you by the hatch to provide covering fire as needed when the others get back.
Sounds good.. Falmok replied.
Darien grins and pats Falmok's shoulder, "I'll be fine, Vhal'ika. You can stop fussing over me. I just need some rest and I'll be right as rain by the time we're at the next job, okay? Slanar hiibir nuhoy'ika, you've earned it."
Slanar hiibir nuhoy'ika = Go take a nap (lit. "little sleep").
Good to hear, ori'vod. Falmok smiled, Sorry ner'vod, but this time you are going home and are going to stay there until you recover. Now rest, I need to help Kara...
<Vod'e, if you aren't on your way to Solus, I would keep an eye out for Black Sun... but if you see a Falleen in shredded clothes, I would appreciate it if you could recover my pistol...>
Kara's voice was just above a whisper on Cade's earpiece, He remained absolutely still, not reacting as if he heard distressing news. The only outward sign of his concern was slowly clenching his fist, a string of curses flowed through his head, both at the Fallen and himself.. He was primarily to blame, antagonizing that hutuun, sounded like Kara had a tough fight considering she left her pistol behind.. Cade swore that he'd pay Chub'ika to modify two pistols to make up for his temper.
His eyes went back an forth behind his visor between Maya and the banker, working on keeping his temper in check.. his need to finish this and return to Kara. He took a breath and worked on calming down, the annoyance coming from Maya was partially directed at him for mentioning a job offer. Probably best if she negotiated, and Ge'tal and he looked like big scary mando'ade.
He squared his shoulders and rested his fist on the pommel of his bes'kad.
After some continued negotiation, Maysh'la manages to talk the banker down to sixty thousand credits. It wasn't too difficult, as he seems very eager to get offworld, not much caring how large the sum is as long as it's enough to help him leave and settle down somewhere comparatively safe.
The three then excuse themselves to "get authorization from the higher-ups in the syndicate." As they are walking towards the exit, Maya gets an idea. When she gets the rest of the crew on the comms, she proposes that there may be another way to keep all of the credits, but it will require a bit more work. The Chagrian has a clear dislike for Valek, and may well have aspirations of his own. She suggests to the others that they offer to return to Ord Mantell when they are done with the dar'jetti and work with him to bring down Valek, installing the Chagrian in his place. Cade and Kara agree quickly, their consent interspersed with some choice words concerning the quality of the criminal element and the belief that the crew had already earned those credits. Ge'tal concurs with their statement, but Darien is silent. Vhal prompts him for his opinion on the matter, and he finally responds in the affirmative, though he clearly has reservations about getting further involved.
That settled, Maya marches back inside the bank and to the Chagrian's office, telling him the deal. He gives them all the credits and covers their tracks. In return, they come back and install him in Valek's place, pinning the whole escapade on the Twi'lek. The banker grins and accepts the offer readily, but he isn't going to just let them walk out with all the money and only their word that they'll come back. They agree on a "security deposit" of forty thousand credits, confirm the deal, and part ways.
On the way back to the ship, Maya is in fairly good spirits, but Cade is still fuming. He constantly sweeps his gaze over his surroundings, almost hoping to see Xin or some of his goons. He walks quickly, anxious to get back to Kara. Ge'tal and Maya keep pace, but he eventually slows down to a more regular speed. Not too much later, they arrive at the ship. The coast looks clear, and they move quickly to the hatch, which Kara opens from the cockpit.
Maya's face darkens and she mumbles something about needing to think, making straight for her bunk. A few minutes later, she leaves the room carrying her datapad and shuts herself in the starboard engine room with her tools and some of her supplies.
Darien finishes with the ship's datapad and flips the intercom to the cockpit, "Kara, I just cleared the bills, we're ready to go. And tell Vhal not to worry, I won't fall out of my bunk anytime soon. You got the coordinates I sent you for Sharlissia?" He remembers the medic and stretches out to grab his helmet, switching the comm to a private frequency with Kara. "[Have that baar'ur take a look at Vhal, will you? Vod'ika ratiin digur kaysh. And see if he's interested in sticking around, it seems we could use him.]"
Vod'ika ratiin digur kaysh. = Little brother always forgets himself (literal drops "-self").
Wait, nevermind. I had it right the first time. :P
Kara tilts her head slightly, listening to Darien. She starts to put in the data into the navicomputer and half turns to Wu, who is still loitering in the hatch. When you have a moment.. preferably after we enter hyperspace, could you give the hairy vod in back a checkup? If he gives you any trouble, let me know...
Wu nodded.
”Ok, I will.”
he replied before he looked out of the viewport.
”Just tell me when it’s a good time to go...”
Yet the male strangely seemed to be bothered with something, for he soon began to fiddle with the controls on his gauntlet related to his commlink.
Edited by Von3679The hairs on Kara's neck stood on end in response to Wu's fidgeting. Problem? She asked..is he really on our side here? She mentally ran through her options if he turned into a threat.
Wu turned and shrugged.
”No... I’ll be fine.”
He replied. He seemed hesitant to open up immediately to the female, but she could sense that he was not harbouring any hostile intentions either.
Ge’tal heads for her quarters. Pulling the power pack from her blaster, Ge’tal plugs it into a recharger and lets it recharge. Once it’s plugged in, she heads to the refresher, strips down and steps into the shower for a good, long soak. After drying off, she throws on a comfortable pair of shorts and a tank top before heading for the galley.
Raiding the galley, she grabs a bowl of boiled mealgrain, a roll of reconstituted haarshun bread, a couple of Mandalorian oranges, a handful of spiced leathermeat, a couple of hunks of uj’alayi, and a steaming cup of shig, loading it into her arms and heading for the cockpit to join the rest of the crew.
Entering the cockpit, she plops down in the nearest empty seat, stuffing he face, saying, “So, where to?”
