Kara looked at Darien, Right now, stay with this ship until we get it a clear title and most likely sold.

Darien nodded, We should search both ships to see what we have..

And what we can possibly remove. Kara added. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm Kara, this is Darien. What's your name Captain?

I've found that it takes most non-Elomin several years to learn to say my name correctly, but you may call me Lyn. While in transit, I took the liberty of exploring the ship. Aside from some personal effects, there is no cargo. I can assemble a list of ship systems and the condition thereof in relatively short order. Do you want me to do that now?

Lyn, that would be fantastic , thank you. Kara smiled.

Darien shook his hand, Set aside any personal effects you come across, I'm sure the Rangers would be interested in those for their investigation.

Yes sir. I'll do that now. Do you want to see them before I turn them over to the Ranger?

Yes, Kara confirmed. I believe that we would.

Darien looked at her, knowing enough of her to know that while her tone was still light, anger was simmering just under the surface.

I'll contact you once I've completed the inventory. He heads off towards the passenger section, whistling.

A few minutes later he contacts Darien over comms, I've assembled a list of the ship's systems and taken inventory of the personal effects, do you want to review them now?

Lyn, come over to the 'zanti. We'll be in the briefing room, second deck. Darien responded.

On my way!

Minutes later the four Mandalorians, Ty, Gosse and Lyn were seating around the briefing rooms table.

Darien made the introductions to everyone and started the meeting. We'll start with Lyn; what do you have for us?

Well, the ship is in decent condition. The fuel tanks are about half-full, the engines could do with a little tuning, and the laser cannons are in need of a little maintenance as well, their disuse is quite evident. The sensor package is decent.

There was no cargo, as I reported earlier, but there were some personal effects in the quarters: a suit of unusual armor with an unusually shaped blaster rifle, some manner of energy whip, an encrypted datapad, and a variety of accouterments you would expect for organic being on jaunts across the galaxy.

Hang on, I should correct myself somewhat, when I said that there wasn't any cargo, that wasn't entirely correct. There wasn't any cargo exactly, but there were a variety of cages in the cargo hold.

Is there anything I'm missing?

Unusual armor and blaster? Darien asked, We'll have to take a look.. Did you happen to bring them?

No, I left them on the ship. Do you want me to go get them?

We can look afterwards Darien said. Falmok, what did you find here?

A bunch of junk. No cargo, not really, just a bunch of rather grubby personal effects. A few battered blasters and a set of tools in... poor condition.

As far as the ship itself, it needs a lot of maintenance. The engines need a tune up, one of them needs rather extensive repairs from that hit we took, the laser cannons are in desperate need of cleaning, the landing gear is not in great condition, the gaskets on the docking tubes are decaying and in danger of leaking, and the ship needs repairs. A lot of them (though that last part is largely our fault). It is also fairly low on fuel. On top of all that, it needs a good washing. Asteroid belts aren't the cleanest places.

Cade muttered in disgust...

Kara sighed, Shame, this beast did pretty well..Even with the maintenance issues. Cade suggested we keep it and send it home for Planetary Defense, or a Rapid Response Force for our missions.

Cade leaned forward, If we sold that YV, do you think we would get enough to upgrade Solus and repair the 'zanti ? This ship would pack a decent punch fully maintained

Lyn speaks now, If I may say so sir, I believe that the credits from sale of the Aurore would more than suffice for your needs. It is in fairly good condition and reliable cargo vessels are in high demand from small firms and independent operators. I used to work for such a firm before it was, well, before the war happened.

Darien looks over to Kara and says, Either option is pretty good, if we keep it as backup, during the off-season we might be able to make some money transporting cargo, what do you think Lyn? Think you can handle running a cargo transport business?

I would love the opportunity, sir! But on the other hand, what exactly would it entail to be a member of the planetary defense forces for your home? Are they all like you? Or would I even be able to join, considering that I am no Mandalorian?

Cade waved the concern away, Kih'parjai .. Not a problem, we welcome anyone who wishes to join. Besides, our home is a very diverse place, there are a couple clans and a few settlements of refugees and former slaves. Some of the latter even joined the clans in being mandalorian themselves.

Thank you. With that information, I'm alright with either option. I'd be more fit for cargo transport, but I'm open to either possibility.

Ori'jate, Cade smiled, welcome aboard! Ty, Gosse, what do you say?

Ty says, I think... yes. I'd like to join up. Gosse glances at his buddy and turns to Cade, How much will we be paid?

Edited by P-47 Thunderbolt

Defense Force has their pay scale, I can ask the people in charge.. Cade said, If you end up running cargo, the planet has a couple exports and imports, so you would be paid per run. If you help us on missions, I think we can do 200 credits a month, then add on any bonuses that we might be able to get. Starting out, pay might be light, but it'll be honest.

Okay, I'm in.

Kara leaned back in her seat. Sounds like we have a ship and a crew.. do we have a name?

Cade sat back to think, looking around the table, pausing on Lyn. How about.. Liberator..

A very suiting name, quite good sir!

Darien leans back in his chair, I agree, good choice.
