I wanted it to be a surprise!
And it was a great surprise Dar'ika, but next time, call ahead.
Yes ma'am. Darien salutes and Kyra playfully slaps him on the shoulder.

Three voices in back being chanting... Call-a-head..call-a-head..call-a-head....
The next morning, after breakfast and
calling ahead to the mechanic
, the team headed back out to the landing pad and flew out to the mechanic's shop.
Upon landing, a middle aged man in Mandalorian armor approached the vessel and waited for your departure. You see him scanning the ship, whereupon he shakes his head and grimaces to himself.
As Darien heads down the ramp, he speaks up.
Su cuy, Darien. What did you do to her? This is the worst shape I've seen her in.
Darien sheepishly replies,
Su cuy, Vaerk, we had a run-in with some slavers. Captured a couple ships, too. One of them is in less than pristine condition and should be here in a couple days.
Vaerk gives him a side-long glance, I assume that means you got it shot up? Badly? I'll fix 'em, but it'll cost you. I should have 'Solus fixed up within a couple days, I'll give you a quote on her once I get a good look. The damage looks largely superficial from out here, but we'll see. It would go even faster if the help were here.
He pulls a scanner out of his satchel and starts to head up toward the ship.
You don't have anyone to help? Kara asked
I do, she just isn't here right now. Striking out on her own.
Could you use our help?
He continues around the ship, pointing his scanner at the wall. Fixing the ship? I guess, we'll see how it goes. I might be able to knock off some of the cost. Which of you think you can help? He casts a critical eye over the team, particularly Darien. At the very least you might be able to help bolt some plates on.
Kara indicated herself, then Cade. I'm smart, he's strong.
Cade snapped his head around, Hey!
Hmm... Okay. I'm about done here, I'll write you up a quote and then we'll see what we can do.
He pulls a datapad out of his satchel and types into it for a minute and then looks at the results, Between materials and labor, that comes out to about 6,500. Since I don't have anything else on my plate right now, I can start immediately. How about it?
When do we start? Kara asked
Now. You're the pilot right? I'll guide you in. Then I'll collect the materials and give you some instruction and we can begin.
Understood.
Vaerk directs Mesh'la Solus into the hangar. After bringing up the necessary materials, he directs Cade and Kara on how to repair hull damage. While they work on that, he goes through the interior, working on the infrastructure and systems. Shortly after they begin work, Falmok arrives with the speeder truck and heads over to where Darien is waiting, cleaning his pistols.
That night, Falmok and Darien head home, leaving Cade and Kara at the shop to continue the ongoing work.
The next day, the Liberator arrives, drawing a, " *whistle* Ibac brokar at'haran!" from Vaerk. He directs Lyn to park it in an open field in the back and then resumes the work until during the afternoon, his long-range transmitter starts beeping. This becomes something of a routine over the next couple days until it finally stops entirely, resulting in Vaerk becoming more and more distracted.
On the 5th day, the work is finally finished. He calls Darien and Falmok, who have been busy arranging for the sale of the newly'christened Cin Vhetin , that the work is done. When they arrive, he greets them at the hangar door, We finished! Those friends of yours did a pretty decent job, in recognition I've reduced the bill to 5,500 credits. Do you want a quote on the junker in the back? I'll warn you, it won't be cheap. By the way, what happened to the circuitry in the cockpit? It's changed since I last worked on it, whoever worked on it did a really good job.
Darien smirked, A child did that. Mirdala ad'ika.
Really! Interesting. Who was it?
Chandra-fan, named Chubbo. Kara replied, we still have his father's comm frequency if you're interested in an apprentice.
I'll look into that, if he's as talented as it appears, he could really go somewhere.
Cade scratched his temple He is a touch eccentric, but extremely creative. He has a Kel Dor friend who is just as gifted.
I'll look 'em up.
Kara glances towards the C-ROC, How bad do you think it'll be?
*whistle* A lot. Based on my estimate, about 20,000. They really did a number on the front of that thing. In addition, the shield generator was incredibly overtaxed and poorly maintained, it's got several parts that'll need to be replaced entirely. The starboard engine is also on the fritz. With me working solus, it'll probably take me over a month of dedicated work to get it back into shape. It also needs a new paint job, he spits at the ground in disgust, that symbol's gotta go. You don't want to be flying around advertising those chakaar. Though I doubt I need to tell you that, he glances at Cade and Kara, your clans had quite a bit of trouble with them a while ago. I was part of the relief forces sent to aid, along with your buir, he nods to Darien and Falmok, we gave 'em haran, it's troubling to see that they aren't all gone.
Cade pulled out his bes'kad, Well, their most recent leader is a cold pool on the deck now.. he flexed one blast knuckles, Used my buir's blastknuckles last time they visited Haven.
He gives a grim smile, Jate. Glad to hear it.
Cade sighed, looking at the hull, then poked Kara. I knew I was forgetting something... should've had you shoot that shabla symbol with a low yield shot earlier..
