Ty and Gosse line up their next shot, but the Marauder's shields shrug off the hit, Sorry boss, her shields 're too thick!
Kandosii Beroya'se IC
Kara lined up another shot and fired... only to watch it splash on the Marauder's shields. A stream of curses came across the comlink.
The first Gozanti starts to pull away and head towards you, but is forced off course by the asteroids and begins to flounder as the pilot tries to get it around the asteroids. However, with your shields still recharging from the last hit, the volley of laser fire it directs your way hits one of your engines, taking it out.
Darien moves over to another console and starts typing out on the keypad, I think I might be able to hack their systems, lower their shields. Ha! Got 'em. Haar'chak, that's not good, I left 'em a window open, they're trying to break through into our systems. He raises his voice in alarm, Trying to shut them out now.
The Marauder begins to move out, and unleashes a hail of fire from its turbolasers at the now vulnerable Mesh'la Solus , penetrating the shields and doing serious damage. Inside, consoles crackle and pop, sparking as they overload.
The system operator on the Marauder begins trying to hack into the systems of your C-ROC, and manages to exploit the vulnerability Darien left behind to gain access. Osik, we've got one in our system, I've got to kick him out before he can start shutting down our systems! But then, seeing Kara take a hit, he keys the comm, Kara! Kara are you alright?
Kara's transmission has a touch of static.. She's still in one piece for the moment. We need to do some damage to that thing!
Copy that- nnrg! Just took another hit from that Gozanti, boys. And indeed you have taken a hit, a solid hit, squarely through your still recovering shields.
The console starts beeping excitedly and Darien glances down, What in blazes now! We've got incoming, ships dropping out of hyperspace. Oya! It's the ranger!
Cade slams his fist on the counsel, I can't get targeting solutions, I think that chakaar is mucking things up! On the bright side, I do have some navigation data!
As the carrier begins to launch its fighters, the Consulars begin to enter the asteroid field, Espio broadcasting across all channels: This is Roth Espio of the Republic Sector Rangers leading a joint task force with the Republic Judicial forces. We have come to put a stop to the piracy plaguing this area. Stand down or you will be destroyed.
The lights come on in the Gozantis hooked up to the station and they begin to pull away.
Falmok lined up his shot, making sure it would hit the now weakened defenses on the Marauders port side and fired... as his shots shot past the hull by barely a meter. RRRAAHHHH!! Falmok howled in frustration. Somebody get them out of our system!
Ty says, Don't worry boss, we'll get 'em. And fires, as their shots fly off right by the Marauder.
Kara does a quick calculation and pulls the triggers, sending a hail of fire raking the port side of the Marauder. Firfiek! About time!
Darien hardly looks up, typing away at the keypad, I've gotta get this guy out of our system, Haar'Chak! Osik, I can't get him out.
He's trying to shut down our shields! Darien continues to grapple with the hacker as the Marauder turns its focus on the incoming ships, letting loose another volley of turbolaser fire.
As the Gozanti opens fire again, the republic ships, for now, still out of its range, your shields come back up to full and absorb the laser fire, preventing another devastating hit.
The republic ships open fire with their turbolasers, focusing their fire to great effect on the closest C-ROC, but you feel the ship shudder as you take a big hit on your aft section as one of the Consulars mistakes you for a pirate and blasts you in your unshielded back end.
Falmok reached over and hit the transmission controls. Republic forces, this Cat's Thorn; Ne'kaan, ne'kaan, ne'kaan!
He then triggered the weapons controls, sending a hail of fire, either impacting shields, or completely missing...
Copy Cat's Thorn, sorry about that.
Ty and Gosse open up again, but they too miss the Marauder.
Kara swings the Mesh'la Solus towards the station and sent a hail of fire on the slaver ship docked on the landing pad, Hibir'ibac! then maneuvered so Solus would prevent any attempted escape of the now damaged slaver ship.
Alright boys, you're clear to dock, oya!
Darien jumped into the pilot control station, Copy that! and maneuvered to the lower level of the station to an air lock near the slave ship.
Cade started prepping for disembarking to the station. Fresh powerpack for the blaster, and passing the bes'kad over a sharpening stone, honing the edge.
Ready, he rolls his shoulders , hits the bes'kad against his armor plates. Alright, vode, let's do this!
Vhal, you should probably stay with the ship, you're badly injured and I don't want you in any more danger.
Falmok flattens his ears against his head and grimaces briefly, No objection here. <K'oyacyi. Both of you. Don't you dare die on me.> He chucks Darien on the shoulder and turns to walk away, I'll work on the ship and keep an eye on the aruetii.
Darien and Cade head to the airlock hatch, each standing on either side, and hit the controls to open the hatch.
Darien and Cade cautiously look inside before heading into the base.
Edited by RuusMarevAs Darien and Cade cautiously open the hatch into the airlock, they walk into a dark corridor, lit red by the emergency lights. The walls are lined by barred doors into cells, some of which contain prisoners. Most pay no attention, gazing listlessly off into space, not even registering your presence, a few prisoners reach out of their cells towards the newcomers, their words in different languages and different phrases, but all with the same meaning, Help us! Please, help us.
