Excellent. Just making sure we were on the same page
I would hate to plan out an attack run only to find out my target wasn't in the open, but buried a mile under the surface..

Ok, here we go:
1) Rangers are alerted, and should be on their way. (I'm guessing 2 1/2 transit time)
2) The Team will prep for the upcoming fight enroute, Kara will pilot Mesh'la Solus, keeping the Cat's Thorn between the base and herself. (hopefully hiding in a "sensor blindspot") They will attempt to make a slow approach.
giving Rangers a chance to catch up a bit.
3) on arrival at the base, first thing to be targeted will be the Base Bridge, hopefully we can take it out in the first pass (both ships firing), then they will target docked ships in hanger and/or external docks.
4) if these are successful, they will either deal with whatever is left, or pull back if there is strong resistance... If resistance is light, or non existent, the Thorn will dock at the prison, with Solus providing cover. (probably Cade and Darien making an attempt at evacuating prisoners. possibly with the gunners help)
What do you want the time gap between your arrival at the base and the ranger's arrival in-system to be?
Ideally, as close as possible.. (given the 45 minutes for speed 3 transit time, which I'm guessing the Rangers will be restricted to.) But I'm guessing we won't get that luxury. A 20 to 30 minute gap might be acceptable depending on the nightmare you have waiting for us
Okay, I'll say then that you're going through the asteroid field at speed 1, so please go ahead and make a Difficult Terrain piloting check at Hard difficulty, upgraded once, with Setback (RPPS), with whoever is piloting the Cat's Thorn*. The difficulty for piloting Mesh'la Solus is Average, upgraded once, with 2 Setback (one for the difficult terrain, one for trying to stay concealed). Both checks receive 2 Boosts for the navigational information you recovered.
*This check can be assisted by a co-pilot, adding 1 Boost to the check.
I just remembered to remind you about handling, the lancer adds 2 Setback from handling and the gozanti adds 3.
Since there weren't net failure (I know bending the rules a little) I'll say that you do arrive at Short range from the pirate base. With the 5 Threat on the Cat's Thorn, I'll inflict a major collision, port side. Crit result (-10 for 2 defense): Critical Hit: 1d100 60 50 = Easy: "Component Hit" One component is knocked offline until the end of the following round (I'm going to extend this until the end of the first round of structured time because other wise it wouldn't do anything) Shields: The ship's defense is lowered by 1 in all defense zones (down from 3 / 2 / 2 / 1 to 2 / 1 / 1 / 0).
With the 2 Advantage, I'll say that Solus passed unseen and is sort of hidden behind the Cat's Thorn.
Please go ahead and post your trip IC, I've got to go now but should be back around 6:00-7:00 your time.
Please make an Average group Knowledge (Underworld) check.
That would be Kara at 2eA + 1eP, correct?
Plus a Boost for the others.
It is a ship frequently used by the Zygerrians. With the 1 Threat, Kara takes one Strain at the thought of slavers.
the lights go out? did they not pay their electric bill?
Yup, every single light went out.
The scans reveal that all power, and therefore all shields, weapons, and life-support, is down.
Life signs?
any indication of the cause?
any transmissions?
Life sign readings haven't changed, no indication of the cause, no transmissions.
(You sir, have me very suspicious)
ooookayyy.... and the ships all powered down as well?
All the ships that are docked with the station. There are 2 Gozantis and the Marauder still not docked and still powered.
are their shields up? (Marauder and gozanti?)
Yes.
well, osik
They are at Short range from you, and Close range of the station.
Figures... are we able to identify the names of those ships?
