You can often clarify the actual meaning of a sentence by dropping the phrase between commas (I forget the words for it, it's been a while). So in this case, another way to read it is "Caton glances at his partner and hisses." The phrase between commas was describing what his partner was doing.

Maya has plenty of unspent XP, so I'm presuming she picked up a second rank of Computers. Setting up the program is Average, but I'm flipping a DP to upgrade: Facial Recognition Software: 2eP+3eA+1eC+2eD 1 failure, 3 advantage, 1 Despair

I messed up, I forgot to change 2eD to 1eD when I upgraded. So final result is 1s3a1D. With 1 Advantage, I'll pass a Boost to the next check. With the other 2 Advantage, she'll also get a bead on the Barabel. With the Despair, stuff will happen story-wise. You'll find out when we get there.

Maya, hacking the security firms. Hard, upgraded once: Hacking: 2eP+3eA+3eB+1eC+2eD 4 successes, 3 threat

She succeeds, very well, but her intrusion is detected by one of the firms. She has to do a slicing encounter to try to cover her tracks. I'll get that done before too long.

It'll take a couple hours for her to finish and get the result.

@RuusMarev, Kara is up. Easy with 1 Setback to target the first minion group, Easy, upgraded once, with 1 Setback to target Canton, and Easy to target the second minion group. She adds 2 Setback to all of those checks, one from Advantage and one from rain.
