Somebody please make an Average Knowledge (Education) check.
Kandosii Beroya'se OOC
Thought I had posted IC already... Whoops. Just one of those days...
Anyway, the Knowledge check is to see if anyone understands the language. Multiple people can make the check.

man... we need a 3PO droid....
Do we know of anything specific about the Dar'jetti?

No, not really.

gender, species... ?

Nope.
But the elder alluded that the target is probably male, since he seems to know who you're talking about.
@RuusMarev, please make a Hard Deception check with a Setback.
Falmok deception: 3eA+3eD+1eS 1 success, 2 threat

almost thought I could mitigate that... except not a coercion check
Although... I planned on it not being a deception... technically his people are looking for him.... Seperatists are run by a dar'jetti.. Dooku.. (I'm sure the Jedi would be looking too..)

You are implying peaceful intent, something you definitely are not intending. While technically true, you seem to be trying to convince him that you aren't hostile.
Even if you weren't, we could simply say that the Deception check was to convince him of the truth.
ok
If you're ready, go ahead and narrate your way to the pyramid.
It's matte black and impervious to sensors, but you pick up sixteen lifesigns just outside at the side facing the village.
@RuusMarev, please go ahead and narrate the team to the pyramid.
Sorry for the delay, caught up wif stuff recently.
I thought it best to clarify a couple things for future reference. These are not things I have consistently implemented throughout, but I have toyed with them and will now start using them in earnest.
I'm not going to proactively roll social checks (Deception, Charm, etc.) for NPCs. Not rolling presumes a degree of success, or at least indifference (e.g. "I think he's playing a bit fast and loose with the truth here, but I'll let it slide..."). If you think the NPC is lying, or you want to resist their attempts at being charming (you'll [probably] be able to tell when it's supposed to actually come across as charming) or whatnot, you can request that it be tested. You will roll the difficulty dice representing your character or the group's resistance, and I will roll the positive dice hidden. I'll tell you what you glean from the results, but you won't actually know what the results were (though you can guess!).
This is to keep suspense and prevent meta-knowledge from detracting from the experience, whether you're trying to meta-game or not. Think of it as a spoiler box.
The same is true of PCs being deceptive, except that sometimes you will be able to see the entire dice pool, depending on the NPC's importance. I won't always call for a Deception/social check, but I will when the NPC wants to resist.
And secondly on Astrogation: For most Astrogation checks (generally ones where you are not under duress, but I'll tell you at the time), Failure does not mean you do not calculate the check. This way we don't have the problem we ran into when Ruus rolled 2 Failure and 6 Advantage of what to do with Advantage? Now Failure will simply increase your distance to the target when you drop out of hyperspace. Not generally much of an issue, but could be bothersome on occasion.
@RuusMarev, double-checking to make sure we're all on the same page: You traveled to the pyramid on foot, leaving the ship where it was. You are now at about Long range (personal-scale, so ~150 yards) from the shack-like buildings near the entrance of the pyramid.

....
why do i get the feeling we shouldn't leave the ship unattended... how far was the walk, if we walked?

Technically it isn't unattended. Maya is still on board with the Beskar'ade.
Errm... I'm bad with distances longer than 10 yards or so. ![]()
I left it intentionally vague for that reason, and since you went by foot it'd be shorter than if you had gone by starship, so maybe a couple miles. Call it 30 minutes, give-or-take.

Thirty minutes would make it about a mile and a half, given an average adult human walking speed of 3mph.

That's roughly what I was figuring. It would also likely be a bit longer since Mandos tend to be more athletic than the average adult human.

To a point, yes, but that is offset by the added weight of their gear. Back when I was in the Army, we had to do ruck marches, some of them up to ten kilometers (a little over six miles), wearing a minimum of forty pounds of weight in our ruck sacks, as well as full combat gear. That slowed us down considerably.

Fair point. And I guess there isn't really much hurry anyway.

Only for the first four hours or so... then numbness sets in.. then you can push yourself...as long as you used sufficient powder in key anatomical locations
blisters and chafing can heal, endorphins are forever ![]()

Numbness, or exhaustion, in which case, you drop.
