@RuusMarev, Gorka already went, so Falmok is up. 1eC+1eD+1eS to shoot the IG. Don't forget that on a success you can use Soft Spot, adding 3 damage for the cost of a DP.

(If Vhal's turn is done before ShockHelix rolls for Maya, I'll put up a placeholder post to edit in later)

Removing the setback with Plausible Deniability, and a downgrade for Intimidating with a Strain.

Coercion: 1eP+1eA+1eB+1eD 1 success, 1 advantage

I'm not clear on whether or not you can remove a difficulty die with Intimidating (I know how downgrading works, just not sure if it applies here), so I'm going to do a bit more research on that. I'll take it in this case, though. Go ahead and recover that strain back and I'll post IC. (If you've got anything to add, I'll be glad to hear it)

@RuusMarev, Falmok is up now.

For the sake of narrative flow, I'm going to go ahead and have her take her turn now:

Maneuver: Aim
Action: Opposed Brawl (Setback from Coercion): Grabbing the Pistol: 2eA+2eD+1eS 3 failures
a-a-a.pnga--.pngd-th-th.pngd-f-f.pngs-f.png

Nope, nuthin' there.

Vhal vs IG. (Aim, accurate): 3eP+2eB+1eC+1eD+1eS 2 successes, 2 advantage
p-a.pngp-s-a.pngp-s-s.pngb-a-a.pngb-a.pngc-th.pngd-f-th.pngs-th.png

Nice! You just barely manage to take it out. What do you want for the Advantage?

I think passing a boost to poor C/K.. they're having a rough time..

Okay, sounds good. Please go ahead and post IC, and then they are up.

@ShockHelix, for future reference, you cannot downgrade more dice than available. I'll let it sit as is, but you cannot remove difficulty dice with talents that downgrade. This is unlike upgrading, in which you add Ability/Difficulty dice when there are no more Ability/Difficulty dice to upgrade.

Yeah, sorry, just found that distinction between reduce/decrease/downgrade wording once you mentioned it. Those abilities do not seem nearly as good now lol.

On the plus side, I know I can upgrade incoming checks now, so I need to keep that in mind.

The big benefit is the ability to avoid Despair. Most checks will only have 1-2 upgrades, so with 2 ranks of Intimidating or another appropriate talent, you can negate the potential for Despair, which can be quite disastrous at times.

You want me to go ahead and make a brawl check for Maya?

Sure, go ahead.

Brawl: 2eA+2eD 0 successes, 1 advantage
a-s-s.pnga-a-a.pngd-f.pngd-f-th.png

You can pass a Boost to your next check, if you want. She'll be able to disengage this turn.

Please go ahead and post IC.

Actually, can I use that advantage to notice an important detail, specifically where we put the blasters that the guards would've been disarmed of?

Sure. They're within Short range, so 2 Maneuvers to get to one.

Alright, additionally, once the guard disengages, it's important to note that according to the description of Jury Riggedon 138 of the EotECore, Maya's no longer using it so the critical reduction goes away. The confiscated weapons won't count as a 'personal weapon or piece of armor'. Jury Rigged is a passive talent and it doesn't make any mention of whether or not I'm allowed to do it immediately, but if you do allow me to do so I'd increase Maya's ranged defense by 1.

Thinking further ahead, what are the weapons on the floor I'll likely be trying to pick up?

Mmm... I think that's a bit of a stretch. If I wanted to get really rules-lawyery, I'd say that the weapon isn't "lost or destroyed" so you can't put it on a new item.

My interpretation of "using" is that it is still part of your arsenal and you are still maintaining it, it isn't sitting on a shelf gathering dust. Thus, the other person grabbing it doesn't remove the benefit.

Especially for the narrative reasons, I'd say you cannot apply it to a new item and you can't unapply it from her pistol.

The weapons are regular blaster pistols. (6; 3; Stun setting)

To more clearly define Jury Rigged: Unless the item falls out of use or is destroyed, Jury Rigged still applies. When Jury Rigged no longer applies, Maya can spend an hour to modify another piece of gear to gain the benefits of Jury Rigged.
This is to justify the narrative side of things, even if a strict reading of RAW might technically allow you to modify your armor as an Out-of-Turn incidental in the middle of combat.

Maneuver: Back up out of engaged range
Action: Shoot Maya: Shooting at Maysh'la: 2eP+1eA+1eB+1eD 4 successes, 1 threat, 1 Triumph
p-s-s.pngp-tr.pnga-s-a.pngb--.pngd-th-th.png

10 damage.

With the Threat, she takes 1 Strain and with the Triumph, she crits: Critical Injury: 1d100 25 25 = Easy: Off-Balance: Add a Setback to the target's next check.

Ouch

If you want to grab a blaster and shoot, it'll be vs. 1eC from Adversary 1.

@RuusMarev, Vhal is up IC, and you can also go ahead and narrate Cade and Kara killing Gorka as he makes a break for a secret door in the back of his room, a secret door that Maya locked.

Shooting with a Blaster: 1eP+1eA+1eC+1eS 2 successes
p-s-s.pnga-s-a.pngc-f.pngs-th.png

Took the 2 strain for an extra maneuver since you said it was at short, and added the setback to the check for the Off-Balance critical hit.

Not down, but it definitely hurt. She doesn't have much in the way of protection.
