Kandosii Beroya'se OOC

By P-47 Thunderbolt, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beginner Game

I was just going to let it roleplay itself out. For now, we'll keep it that way. The response to him IC might necessitate a check though, we'll see what happens.

I think Cade just went too far... he might be remembering the story the Pike told him.... O_O

Okay, that is a threat. Hard Coercion check, upgraded once. 1 Boost.

Yes.

Cade Coercion, Intimidate: : 1eA+2eP+1eB+3eD 3 successes, 3 threat

This is the way...

I was thrilled when I saw that. I love getting battle packs, but they haven't had many good ones in recent years (not enough clones 😢).

My reaction when I saw that was "TAKE MY MONEY!!!!" :D

First generic Mandos that aren't Death Watch.

yeah.. I bought two... :D

Anything people want to do before starting the mission?

ShockHelix, I know you wanted to get Maya some slicing gear.

I did! Though I’m not sure if I’ll be able to find what I’m after. Looking for a Data Breaker (EotECore 186), but it’s a Rarity 6 Restricted Item.

On Ord Mantell, that'll reduce the rarity by 2, so it'll be an Average Streetwise check. Darien has 3 Cunning, so he'll assist the check. If you want the generic slicing gear as well, it'll be an Easy Streetwise check.

Wouldn’t need it would I? From the description it sounds like it’s implying the Databreaker is better then just having the right tool for the job. Also want to know what my options are for a Dataspike solution?

My interpretation is that you need the "Right Tool for the Job" and then you can add bonuses from specialized tools. For example, to repair a ship, you need a Tool Kit, but then you can add bonuses from a Rivet Gun.

A Dataspike is a Simple Streetwise check, 100 credits a piece.

Alright, well let’s do this one at a time.

Assisted Streetwise (Databreaker): 2eA+1eP+2eD 2 successes, 1 threat, 1 Triumph
a-a-a.pnga-s.pngp-tr.pngd-th-th.pngd-th.png

Well that’s an interesting roll. The core rule book states a Triumph can be used to establish a semi-permanent contact. Can I make use of that to bypass the other streetwise checks I’d need for an illicit goods dealer while we remain on Ord Mantell?

To a certain extent at least. Certainly in this case. No checks are necessary for the other slicing gear pieces you want to pick up.

Any chance of me being able to get the Superior Armor upgrade I need for my armor? 🥺

If Ge'tal is comfortable with a non-Mandalorian messing with her armor. Difficulty is Hard Negotiation. Adding a Setback because of the difficulty working with Beskar.

Her armor is't Beskar yet. Beskar is covered by the Cortosis Weave attachment. That's a 10,000 credit attachment. Superior is also simply an armor attachment. I can apply the attachment myself, and it doesn't require any Mechanics checks, by RAW, but I need to buy the attachment first.

Look, I really don't want to argue with you about this. Narratively, we've always been treating the armor as Beskar. Statistically, you could say it isn't, but narratively, we've been treating it as Beskar. If you want Ge'tal's armor to not be treated as Beskar narratively, that's fine.

The fluff text for Superior Armor Attachment says "A skilled armor smith can do XYZ to increase the protection a piece of armor offers even while decreasing its bulk."

So while there is no mechanics check required, narratively, working with Beskar armor is going to be very difficult for someone who has not been trained to work with Beskar.

If you don't want her armor to be narratively treated as Beskar, that'll remove the Setback die. Which was added for narrative reasons to begin with.

Narratively, Maya’s been trained to work with beskar, so that’s always an option for a need to make a ‘modification’ or anything like that.

Also, for my purchases, I believe the Databreaker is 1k credits, the Slicer Gear is 500 (I’ll make better gear later when I get a chance) and I’ll pick up 5 of the Dataspikes to bring the total to an even 2k. Will it be possible to make a negotiation check to barter on the price?

We have an In House armorsmith?

Yes, Hard with 2 upgrades.

That makes sense. I'll come up with difficulty/time tables for the armor Attachments that actually adjust the armor.

Based on crafting, I generally assume that the materials are half the cost of the attachment and the rest of the price is labor (though I may handle that differently with Cortosis Weave), so the price to perform the modification yourself would be 2,500 plus whatever you see fit to charge.
