@ShockHelix, please go ahead and make a Hard Charm check with 2 Boosts.

Before I do that, I want to give a little bit of clarification because while I’d love to take the easier check, it unfortunately probably makes more sense as a deception check. When Maya mentioned fixing his disabled helmet, she left out the bit that she’d also want to make it so they can track it’s location.

I'll leave that as a Charm check. There isn't really any way for him to verify whether or not you are going to fix his helmet, so he's just going to take you at your word.

It's just one small element of the proposal.

I've been thinking about Stimpacks and want to float a houserule past you guys. There are a couple places where it refers to repeated use of stimpacks coming with "dangers," but no elaboration on what that might entail. I've always had a bit of an issue with the "free health" thing, so I came up with this: First 2 stimpacks, you're fine. 3rd, and you lower your Strain threshold by 1. 2nd and you lower it by 2. 3rd and you lower it by 3 (6 total). The idea being you then un-reduce by 1 for every full night of rest, and make a Resilience check to un-reduce by 1 per success.

Alternatively, just take Strain in the same pattern.

The idea to this is to just make it a little bit more of a trade-off and actually introduce the risks that are referenced in the book.

This way you can end up with a situation where you need to heal someone quickly, but they might pass out from the added... uh, strain... on their system. I think I might be leaning towards the second option, for while I like the persistent effect from the first, I can see how the bookkeeping could get out of hand.

I’m good with the idea of taking strain in that pattern. I think reducing it could be a bit confusing to keep track of.

Alright, Strain to reduce the difficulty of the check, and

Charm Check: 1eP+2eA+3eB+2eD 4 successes, 1 threat
p-s-s.pnga-a.pnga-s.pngb--.pngb-s-a.pngb--.pngd-th-th.pngd-th.png

Not perfect, but that’s finally a success at least.

I was always confused about the whole stimpack/medpack thing...

Medpack sounds like it heals wounds, as it does in real life..

Stimpack sounds like it would heal stamina...kinda like caffeine "makes you more alert"...

But the way these two packs are described, they do the same thing, heal injuries.

I always thought it made more sense for stimpacks to act more like an energy drink, it gives you that extra boost.. until it wears off and you need to rest/sleep. Example: pop a stimpack so you have enough ST to get through your combat, but afterwards you're going to crash and need to rest (but instead of recovering your normal amount of Strain, you get maybe half back, representing in real life waking up tired because you drank too much coffee/redbull..) I'm also pretty sure that's what stimpacks did in Star Wars computer games.

Medpacs are like first aid kits. Stimpacks are basically bacta injectors.

Quote

Stimpacks are small single-use auto-injector systems containing a powerful cocktail of bacta, painkillers, anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, and other medications designed for quick healing in the field.

@ShockHelix, I screwed it up a little, you were right, it probably should have been Deception. I misunderstood Maya's intentions, I thought she just hadn't stated her demands yet. The Threat will allow me to compensate for that somewhat. Sorry about that.

Well, I’m curious about what would’ve happened if it had been deception sooooo

Curious about if it was Deception: 2eA+2eB+3eD 1 success

Certainly not what I expected.

Well. Not to show you up or anything, but in another PbP, I'm playing as a Stormtrooper. I tried to Charm a force-sensitive kid whose village had just been burnt down by other elements of my team (not something he'd signed off on or anything he'd want to be involved in). The GM set the difficulty to Daunting with 2 Setback. And ya know what? My Presence 2, Charm 0 Stormtrooper rolled 3 Success and 3 Threat.

So far, that's my one piece of particularly good luck for that campaign. :P

Someone was blessed by the dice gods that day 😂

No kiddin'

(and then I promptly failed an Average Stealth check with my 3 Agility)

Awww, no immediate rise out of him?

Not quite. You did say he had a couple days...

Please go ahead and roll a Simple Charm check. This isn't pass/fail, I just want to get an idea of how well she did. 2 Boost.

A couple days during which she’s claiming that they’re going to attack Carlac. Which I was under the impression is where the Kom’rk with his Vod/Riduur fled to.

He's also weighing your chance of success. I'm not saying he's gonna turn you down, he's just taking some time to think it through.

Darn. I was really hoping the (fake) imminent threat of their potential death would have him make a rash agreement with her.

Simple Charm: 1eP+2eA+3eB 6 successes

Yowzah, that's a lot of success.

Well hopefully the success weigh more heavily then advantage in this case 🤣

Shock can say "darn" but it edits it when P-47 quotes it? <_<

Well, she was a little more clean in the edit :D

It was originally dam. Surprised it censors that but eh.

Alright, I think that we are at a good end-point for the session, the remaining stuff would happen in-between sessions.

15XP for Cade, Kara, and Ge'tal (Tramp, this should put you up to 45, since I don't think you spent the XP you got before this session).

Darien and Falmok each get 20XP since this session focused on them somewhat, Maysh'la gets 20XP for the same reason and for her contributions.

Maysh'la gets strike one towards increasing Obligation.

Next Session's Obligation check: Obligation check: 1d100 98 98 - no Obligation triggered

Everyone restores their Strain Threshold back to what it normally should be.

I've been tempted to start doing that in real life! Also to call people "Di'kut." :D

And their wounds?

So, the Ordo Clan and Liberator parts are happening during the Star Wars wipe? :D
