Use the Advantage to recover one Strain, so it's not a total loss.

No, you only recover Strain with Successes. You can't use Advantage on Strain recovery rolls to recover more Strain.

Easy enough to open it, it reveals a ladder that goes down about 3 yards into, from what you can see, a tunnel.

You surmise that they were weapons racks. Average Knowledge (Warfare) if you want to determine what sort of weapons.

The weapon racks would have contained blaster rifles, but you aren't sure if any/how many were taken because there are none still in storage and there is space for more than what the guys you were chasing could carry. The closed cabinets contained foodstuffs and other miscellaneous items.
