Since I already liked him for scum, and this didn’t help.

:D I was telling Jabba the same thing. . .

Not, of course, that it is up to you to allow it. . .

I mean like I’d policy vote it

Although I don't think code speaking breaks a current rule, from now on, I'm going to ask everyone to write in English or at least a language we can type into Google Translate. It's going to be difficult for me to make some GM calls if I can't read every post.

Your fellow players will also thank you for it.

Sorry it looks weird. Doing it on my phone.

1:00 p.m. EST. Think that's 18 hours?

Sorry I’ve been off today folks. As some of you know I work in politics and Britain decided to melt down (again) today. Catching up now.

I don’t know what this means. My only guess is it’s some kind of Lie Detector test. Therefore (for utter Mod clarity) here is my answer to the question “Are you town?” - “Yes, I am Town.”

Just finished reading the Mads/GNIP contretemps. I read it as two players with different views of Mafia gameplay. I know that because my view more accords with Mads’ than GNIPs’ (both on D1 and this) I might be more inclined to vote with Mads against GNIPs but I think I may have a better idea!

My friend @Ragamuffin (hope this is the right handle!) has advanced the idea that early in the game Scum benefit from hiding in plain sight by not being too high profile and not engaging in big fights and especially staying out of the way during Town blue-on-blue conflicts. So what if for now we presume that the more active players are more likely to be Town and the more quiet players are more likely to be Scum?

The active list would include GNIP and Mads thus I’m pushing them both down my ScumTrack for now!

I’m still keen to lynch from my D1 pool but now wish to exclude GNIPs. Thus I’m left with Jabba, Clon and Forty.

So for now I’m going with ##vote @The Jabbawookie - reasons: you’re a great player! Why so quiet? If you are Town we need more of your input please! If you are Scum, I can see you being crafty enough to just sit back and let Mads and GNIP go at it (presuming my theory/gambit is right and they are indeed both town!).

Let’s see what happens!

Sound theory. I’m interested in Jabbawookies response

Whenever two players of unknown affiliation engage in an argument, sitting back is a good call. I’ve been busy on the lake today, but am here now and trying a cheap trick or two to see if they bear fruit.

Here’s how I see it: scum got the best D1 result they could have hoped for. We have no death to learn from, which would have been particularly useful with the activity we had.

Caldias went to the trouble of making an “oh darn” post without actually throwing in his vote to see if it stuck, placing him at the top of my list.

Clon and Forty are pretty suspect as well, as is Preyer for getting to L-1 without a hammer in favor of... no lynch. That shouldn’t happen. GNIPs was pretty resistant to the idea of code, but that’s far from a scumtell and could just be sportsmanship.

@Lord Preyer I advise you to go through some of your older games and chat, and see if you better understand what I’m asking.

Agree that scum got lucky Day One in pulling off a no-lynch, but we didn't get zero information.

Weirdly Matt was targeted. He seems an odd choice to me since he was off either train. Seems like if I was scum I'd leave him alive as an easy target to push. LTD was the only other one off one of the main trains, and I know he's got a weird time zone so obviously some slack needs to be given there. I think it might be worth looking into why Matt might've been targeted? I didn't see anything that lept out at first glance, but will take a closer look in a little bit.

I hear you, Jabba, and if it was like the minute of I would've posted the vote. But it was three minutes after time was up according to the forum timestamp, so I knew it was well too late. I like to follow rules so I don't think it's good sport to throw a vote on my end, knowing time is past, in hopes that the moderator doesn't notice.

I have no ideas about who to vote for. I agree that voting for non active players may well be the best procedure.

Im inclined to vote for Jabba just because I cannot be bothered to decrypt messages - but at least he is posting.

Forty is new to these games, and is likely as confused as the rest of us about what to say.

##vote clontroper5 because of not much posting.

As usual, I'm confused. Though the code talk does have me suspicious.

Care to explain yourselves @The Jabbawookie and @GhostofNobodyInParticular ?

Is this just some weird forum-game flex?

That might be why he was targeted. Based on my past behavior as mafia, sometimes the best kill is the non-obvious one because of it pointing to absolutely nobody.

Jabba wanted to ask a sensitive question. I am not sure why he would trust us with answering honestly or why he thought we'd trust him with the answer, but I guess he asked us so that, should we three trust each other, at least nobody else would know.

I did not want to ask you a sensitive question, though I can understand how it might have come across that way. I wanted to set up the communication channel, should it prove useful later (as in, two of us are confirmed town and/or dead.)

Our conversation, roughly:

Jabba: I’m pretty sure this code is secure. Might prove useful if one of us is the tracker, for example.

GNIPs: Don’t fish. This can’t be allowed.

Jabba: Wasn’t fishing, it just could be useful to have. If Bertie doesn’t like it he’ll say something.

In case you just gave away the code, may I suggest that all further communiques, should they be allowed, be done using Beta?

They aren’t allowed, and I paraphrased, but yes. Beta sounds good.

Even that might not have helped.

Right, I forgot. Well, that's settled. We have barely 12 hours left, and barely anybody has voted. This is turning into a remix of D1.

I’m going to ##vote @FortyInRed . Talk more, please. I believe you exhibited a pretty passive scum style in Souls for Sale.

Oh, I missed some good conversations!

Hmm it also looks like I will be unable to post more until night fall...

Also # @The Jabbawookie because of Code speak!

Whoops

#vote @The Jabbawookie

@The Jabbawookie I’m frantically looking through old games about codes now!

Ah. But Mod ruling against codes. Fair enough.

Still, am interested by what Jabba was trying to achieve. Just need to decide if it was genuine TownHelp or crafty ScumSmoke! Hmmm. Let me reread his whole game.

##unvote @The Jabbawookie - reasons: at the start of the game he was asking good questions and trying to move the game forward; his code thing attracted attention when as Scum he could have just sat back; though he’s certainly talented enough to be playing a clever scum game I don’t really feel it (sorry! Still reliant on gut in absence of flop data!)

##vote @clontroper5 - reasons: possible Scummarining; the Code Speak Jabba vote felt a little bit convenient; he was one of the D1 players who tried to lynch me and is thus in my primary suspects pool
