PBP Alt Univ: Clone Wars: OOC
Initiative
:
2eP+1eA
1 success, 4 advantage, 1 Triumph
Rolled for Cool (Vigilance is better, but I figured Cool made the most sense here.)

Unless I call for specifically cool vs. Vigilance you get to choose and don't need to justify.

Okay. I'll go ahead and keep my roll, even though it isn't ideal, but that's useful for future reference.
Initiative
:
1eP+2eA
2 successes, 1 advantage
I suppose I should also roll for the Varactyls:
Initiative
:
3eP+2eA
3 successes, 5 advantage
Ok there are 4 minion groups 4 b1's each in the lander, 1 in the cockpit, 2 when you first enter the main bay, 1 further in. Outside the lander are 2 phalanxes (rule in a clone wars book) of b1s, the phalanxes are each 4 minions wide, and will start attack in round 3.
PC's get to go first
GO!
Edited by EliasWindriderI'll wait to post IC for @ShockHelix to narrate us in, but here goes nothing:
Balyeg Squad
Maneuver: Move out of the LAAT and towards the interior of the C-9979.
Action: Auto-Fire shooting at the B1s in the main bay:
Hot Drop
:
4eP+1eA+2eD
3 successes, 1 advantage, 1 Triumph
12 damage with Pierce 1 and two hits, so that should annihilate an entire group (my understanding is that there are two groups where we are and two phalanxes in view, then two more groups further inside the lander [four total], not four groups where we are now and four inside the lander).
Using the Advantage to pass on a Boost to next (Camouflage).
Camouflage:
Maneuver: move out into the bay
Incidental: Aim
Action: Shoot at the remaining droid group (duel pistols):
Scrap 'em!
:
3eP+1eA+4eB+2eD
5 successes, 1 threat, 2 Triumph
Forgot a die (Quick Strike):
forgot a die
:
1eB
1 success, 1 advantage
Yowzah, @RuusMarev , are you getting jealous?
With Design Flaw, that's 6 success, 2 Advantage, and 2 Triumph, and First Among Brothers adds 2 Advantage to spend on clones.
Taking a strain, but that's one hit for 19 damage and 2 Advantage for a second hit (16), taking out the remaining droids in the group.
First Among Brothers adds 2 Advantage, and I'd like to use that to give Condor a free Maneuver to help him get out here faster.
@EliasWindrider
, any chance I can use the double Triumph to have the huge doors shut, with the phalanxes on the outside? (or a similar alternative)
If not, then upgrade Condor and Camo's next checks.

No to that use of triumphs, you're going to need to get to the cockpit to close the bay doors, you're locked out of the in bay controls.
Okay, then @ShockHelix , Condor gets a free Maneuver and an upgrade to his next check.

Is that really Balyeg squad (Condor's group) or should that be Varactyl squad (Camouflage's group) instead?

Oops, I've been working on copying down the IC thread into a Google Doc, so I've been seeing Balyeg a lot. It's supposed to be the Varactyls. I think I got it right on the Orokos listing though.
I forgot to check: did the snipers'/spotters' Dragoon blasters have any attachments/mods?

No
@ShockHelix you're up, but we can assume you and your minions disembark, and take cover preparing to hold off the onslaught.
Given how easily @P-47 Thunderbolt dealt with the minion groups of 4, I'm going to increase the 2 minion group further in to 6 minions each... if you need another justification they started activating some of the b1's in the lander while you were dealing with the the first 2 minion groups.
So @P-47 Thunderbolt can move further into the lander and discover b1's activating other b1's, so a round 2 maneuver will bring you into line of sight and short range, leaving you with the first attack.

This was a mistake, before I had remembered to account for Design Flaw and Quick Strike. No strain was taken for Threat.

Do I go ahead and do that now? Am I correct in interpreting that the phalanx will be out of sight range, at Medium range, but not blocked out?

The laat has kicked up a bit of dust so out of sight because of that... without dust you'd be able to target them at medium range... yeah you get to move into the lander now
Okay, will do.
Varactyls:
Maneuver: Move to Short of the new droids
Action: All Guns Blazing!:
All Guns Blazing!
:
4eP+1eA+2eD
5 successes, 1 threat, 1 Triumph
Huh. 14 with Pierce 1 x2 = 22 wounds = 5 B1s down, 1 with 2 wounds. Setback to Camouflage.
Camouflage:
Maneuver: Follow the Varactyls
Action: Shoot the last droid:
Finish Him
:
4eP+3eB+1eD+1eS
3 successes, 2 advantage, 2 Triumph
Holy Hannah. I'm using up all my luck before we get to the hard bit.
Easily kills the last droid. With the 2 Triumph, can I prevent any more droids from turning on in this area?
6 Advantage: Free Maneuver to Balyeg Squad, Boost to Condor, and Boost to the Varactyls.

I'll say ok to that use of the triumphs.... but you hear a door slam shut and a low spinning grind (lock) heavy duty door lock on the cockpit, that you'll need to slice, or breach., a maneuver to get to it.
Whether you slice the lock (mechanics or computers, your choice) or breach the door you'll be facing 3 red. If you attempt to breach and get a despair you'll destroy critical controls in the cockpit rendering the lander unable to fly until repaired which will take parts you don't have.

So using the shaped charges we brought along would be a 3eC Mechanics check?
I think I'll probably try to slice the lock, but for now I think we should wait and let the narration catch up before I do any more.

Yes
So, speaking of narrative, since the first turn we land the LAAt, and take cover, I suppose that means Condor squads up with Balyeg and takes the dig in formation for an extra setback, which I think brings it to a total of at least 3 (1 for defense, 1 for formation, 1 for cover.)
Starting second round, is this where the dust has cleared enough for us to start shooting at the phalanxes at medium range?

No, that's at the start of the third round. However, you could target the phalanx before you move out of range.

If you take 2 setback, then yes
