After Padawan and Knight in Rise of the Separatists, what other Jedi specs could we get?

If they decide to give Jedi the usual number of specializations. They already started with only 2 and have announced 2. This makes it different from the usual 3 plus 3 set-up. If they had given us Master in RotS (perhaps in place of FS Outcast which could have gone into CotR), then I would be more convinced that they are intending to follow their usual pattern. At the moment, I would not be surprised if Jedi only has the 2 plus 2 specs that we know about. It also wouldn't bother me at all, since just about every Jedi spec that people are proposing are just variants of FaD specs we already have, and it's better IMO to use what's there rather than reinventing the wheel.

Unless they have a plan for another book. Like the Old Republic.

Well, apparently Lucasfilm is working on at at least one film set around the KOTOR era...

As figuring that FFG still has the license and is still publishing RPG books by the point said film comes out (probably not for at least a few years), doing an Old Republic sourcebook is possible, and would be a good place to include two additional Jedi specializations to round out the career to a full six specs like every other career.

Isn't that just some rumor? About the movie?

And we haven't seen any sequel era source books even years after Force Awaken.

Well the Sequel Era hasn't been completed yet so it would be hard to do. Between the 2 movies we have a weeks time covered at best. So I suspect they are waiting for it to be finished. And information has been kind of sparse on what is really going on. We did get a beginner box.

honestly I would also love to see source books for in-between 6 and 7 as well like endor and jakku and other events. We have a dawn of rebellion and a rise and fall of separatist would love to see fall of empire.

Disney prohibited reprinting Old Republic era material in French a few years ago. Safe to say we're getting something and, given how they had to heavy handedly block out existing material, it won't be pretty.

I am sure many are interested in those books. But I think FFG is waiting for post ep 9 to do sequel era. so december 2020 abouts for sequel era book. Old republic seems like a possibility. I just dont know if it will be before or after potential movie.

With the Knight's access to both Improved Reflect and Improved Parry I feel much less need take more than one Lightsaber Tree. I'd just pick the one that focuses whatever stat I want to be my "thing" and feel good about it. My old character was going to be taking several specializations to add those talents to the one I started (Niman.)

The outstanding (?) two trees are one thing, Signature Abilities are another. Kinda feels like the last two trees and signature abilities should be in a Jedi Order sourcebook.

I'd go with Temple Guardian and Archivist as specs in that case. But as for Signature Abilities I wonder if Force Ghost would be too... terminal as one of them.

How many Jedi actually had that ability? IIRC, Qui-Gon never fully mastered it. He posthumously passed on what he did learn to Yoda and Obi-Wan. Then Anakin seemed to just pick it up on his own. Who knows, maybe Luke learned it. And then there were all of the other Jedi that did not even know this was possible. It sounds like Force Ghost should be a very special Force Power more than a Signature Ability of the Jedi career.

Given Jedi are supposed to be diplomats, yet most of the social skills aren't in-class: Jedi Mediator?

Don't forget that the Padawan spec has Well-Rounded, so any social skills that the PC is lacking can easily be chosen with this talent.

The Mandalorian tv show kind of throws a wrench in that book for a while...probably for a few years.

I agree the force ghost thing is a Whills thing not a Jedi Thing.
Maybe they could have a variation on Diplomatic Solution and a variation on Fated Duel. as that seems to be the 2 branches of the Jedi

I can't wait to see the Signature Ability for Jedi characters that lets them refocus the scene away from other (non-Jedi) characters so its ALL ABOUT THE JEDI!!! It's been the hallmark of the Jedi for well over 20 years now.

This is already pretty heavily covered in Keeping the Peace and Nexus of Power . Pages 94-95 of KtP covers a whole section on using the “hero’s death” as a reward for Guardians, and even touched upon becoming a Force Ghost.

Page 86 of NoP details the Wellspring of Life from Clone Wars, which was where Qui Gon and Yoda both learned how to transcend death and become Force Ghosts, and gives very detailed “Vergence rules” on how to use it in a campaign.

Right. Because the ones the other careers have are so terrible. Every Career should be equal. That means every career should have 2 signature abilities and 6 specs.

I wonder if one of the Jedi signature would allow a player to chose a signature ability from one of the 6 F&D careers. This would allow Jedis with a specialty to become more specialised.

OK, so maybe Force Ghost is out then. But are they going to 'finish' the Jedi career this year or put out something else? Vehicles and Vessels perchance?

Is there another missing era that's also free for production while still containing sufficient Jediness to justify the inclusion of more Jedi content?

New Trilogy is probably more or less off limits (due to actual restrictions, or just lack of sufficient content at the moment) for a sourcebook till the trilogy is done.

KotOR/ToR has been IDed by LFL/Disney as non-canon and word is one of the upcoming Film Trilogies is set then, so that's probably not a good era for a sourcebook.

Had EA made more than just Battlefront until now there would probably be sufficient content from video game sources to stretch it into a sourcebook. But they didn't, so there isn't.

So yeah... Vehicle book likely next. New Trilogy book is probably already outlined and some Crunchy content set, but they're locked into waiting for the final movie to really get to writing. Then of course they'll have the Films, Resistance, and The Mando to mine. So that's 1, maybe 2, with justification for Jedi content.

And Kassian Andor Live and Fallen Order take place close enough together to probably yield another book, also with some Jedi content being applicable.

I agree. I am hoping we get the signature abilities in Collapse. But I have no idea if we actually will. I think that is a 50/50 proposition. Maybe we have enough for a Jedi Career book. Between the Prequel TV and Movies. With the Jedi Gear from the various books, GM advice, Signature Abilities, How to play a jedi stuff.

Technicaly, the current buzz, and latest report from Buzz feed (whether true or not) is that Laeta Kalogridis has been writing a movie treatment specifically based off of the original KotOr game. to quote:

Quote

A movie based on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic — the beloved video game first released in 2003 — is currently being written by Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) for Lucasfilm, three sources close to the project told BuzzFeed News.

As I said, how true this is, is up in the air, and even then, how much of the actual game story they adapt is a mystery as well, but, based upon this interview, the script is for a potential trilogythat is an adaptation of the original video game.

So it looks like we have 1 Signature ability for the Jedi. Supreme Reflection. And 1 for the Clones. Supreme team work. So that leaves us with 2 more specs and 1 signature ability to potentially show up somewhere.

What other Signature ability would fit the Jedi? I wonder if the KOTOR will get an Era book...

Wonder where we could get the other 2 Clone Specs and Signature ability...

The other two clone specs? We already have six clones specs (ARC Trooper, Commander, Veteran, Officer, Pilot, Trooper) not including the Retired Clone Trooper from DoR.

Retired is a univeral Not career spec, But I was not aware of Veteran

I'm quite aware, which is why I said "not including" it.

Probably someone asked it before but Lighsaber Forms from FaD count as "outside carieer" from Jedi and have an extra XP cost? I read some posts but I would like to know please if there is any official response.

Thanks people!
