Sorry About The Mess: Arena B

suffer 2 strain to maneuver down, putting us at medium range

b) use no extra maneuver (jumping down) resulting in a setback for lower ground ( and a boost for the higher ground enemy )

Downstairs he goes, no extra maneuver needed, but there fore Drez'n now has the High ground advantage.

- of course you have no maneuvers right now, thanks to the small avalache - ensnare option.

And the general properties of the Enviorment Sheet

1. All Perception checks add a Setback due to limited visibility.
2. The high temperatures and humid air add 3 Setbacks to any checks involving strenuous activity

So the question is does me making a circle of defense action count as strenuous. Is not an attack and of I'm immobile it can't be too strenuous....

tricky, while it is an action, it seems not to be a very strenenous attemp to hold the saber in a defensive manner...

but then again it is also the (narrative) "movement" you will do during your defense, while the wookiee just pulled a trigger (which is hardly an effort) and had to roll the 3 setback with it (the main reason is again the "narratic movement" of his attack).

in the rest of the matches, we used, any Combat checks to be falling under this ruling.

Since defensive Cirle is a combat check (using the Lightsaber skill) it counts as strenenous so yeah you would have to roll the 3 Setbacks as long as you don't have anything against heat and arid air to help you. (just roll 3eS we add that to the former result.)

Setback : 3eS 1 failure, 2 threat

What is this! You walk a dark path wookiee! Beware!

Typical Force-using blowhard, Grrawlryyhl thinks to himself as he surfs the avalanche down a ways further. A deflected blaster bolt came dangerously close to hitting him, but instead just gave the snowslide a bit more momentum.

The Wookiee is now putting a good amount of distance between the two of them, banking on retaining the advantage of mobility.

// I'll use that 2 Threat you rolled for an out-of-turn maneuver to put my shield gauntlet away, and two maneuvers on my turn to move down to long range //

WT: 22/0, ST: 17/2

Destiny Pool: 2/0

// By the way that was my whole turn. Just in case that was unclear! //

I'll put something up shortly

(Is it an athletics check to free yourself from ensnare?)

Edge of Empire pg 156: "An Ensnared target may attempt a Hard Athletics check as his action on his turn to break free from the effect. An immobilized target cannot perform maneuvers."

//Remember your setbacks! ;) //

Defensive circle : 2eA+3eA+3eS+3eD 2 successes, 4 threat
a-a.png a--.png a-s-s.png a-s.png a-a.png s--.png s-th.png s-f.png d-th.png d-th-th.png d-th-th.png

(So that's 1 setback. Will suffer 2 strain to take a defensive stance so that's 2 more setback...)

// did you mean 2eP+3eA? //

(Crap... Yes... Auto correct on my phone has picked up to add eA to numbers and i originally did 2eY when i corrected it to a p i just of put eA should i reroll?)

Reroll the positive Dice (2eP+3eA) and add them to the negative result.

Re roll : 2eP+3eA 6 successes, 3 advantage, 1 Triumph
p-tr.png p-s-a.png a-s-s.png a-s-s.png a-a-a.png

(How does a triumph work in this situation? Can it un-entangle me? I also got to look at the environmental effects sheet again)

You can ether use the triumph to upgrade the wookiees difficulty further, gain an adiitional range defense, or use the

Triumph I am the Nature, the nature is me! - The Character catches a refreshing breeze and for a short moment everything is clear as glass in the silence of the mountains - resulting in Regaining 5 Strain and 1 Boost on the next check

or of course "Something Vital happens" like breaking free from the avalanche/ Ensnare.

Drez'n steadies himself slowing his breath. Flow with the force...

( he will suffer 2 strain to also upgrade next check twice. He will spend the triump, and also take guarded stance, I'll spend the triumph on the boost and strain recovery... Because I'm unensnared next round correct?)

Yes you will be unensnared next round.

But you can't use the defensive Stance maneuver to upgrade the next attack on you since you are still ensnared in this round and can't use any maneuvers!

So up to now your complete roll is:

Sucess: adding ONE Defense
triumph: I am the Nature, the nature is me! - Regaining 5 Strain and 1 Boost
3 Threats for @awayputurwpn to spend!

That it, NO maneuvers!

**** your right

(Why i was thinking it just inhibited movement i don't know)

Because the designers had to go the most confusing way and call them manoeuvres rather than minor actions like everyone else.

and because for some reason, while you can't move a little/ uncomplex manners (maneuvers) you still can move your body in complex manners (still able to do actions) and also any incidentials like parry/ reflect. It really is a little bit confusing.

// Will be able to post after work today! I'm counting 7 setbacks for a ranged attack...4 defense, 3 environmental? //

// Oh also sorry, the 3 threat. I'd like to cause the three threat option, 3 Threats Watch your Step - the character steped on an icy spot and is gliding away, resulting in 3 non-Soakable Strain , and beeing Prone and increasing or reducing the rangeband by one (if engaged the character will disengage as result) //

The little Jedi manages to hit a small patch of ice and rock which releases a large amount of steam, cracking the glacier upon which he stands. He begins to glide to the left as the ground underneath him spreads apart. The rumbling knocks him down, finally free of his entrapment in the ice but drifting further away from the Wookiee bounty hunter.

(we're currently at Long Range, so that either puts it out to Extreme Range if that was the intent? Or just a maneuver's worth of movement towards extreme range? Meaning that getting to extreme range would take just one Move maneuver, and closing to medium would be 3 move maneuvers.)
