Having thought on it ...

2 agi ships with selfless and a focus for defence. I included Heff because he's a the cheapest U-wing with a mod slot, but then realised that the midgame gets a lot worse for your opponent if all your ships are damaged and Saw is giving them rerolls with their native focus. That's 26 health behind 2 greens and selfless with mods and 5 points left for spice.

Jyn Erso crew on Saw.

I can't tell you how many times I build a Rebel list and have 2 pts or more left with an open crew slot and just slap Jyn Erso in the list. 2 pts for that ability is very good and offers great flexibility. If crew slot open in Rebel list...put Jyn Erso there.

sure, but you could get a wedge for that many points.

I'm pretty sure "Nuts." was pretty clear I didn't believe it was a good idea... But, to be blatantly obvious: No, a Red Vet with Selfless and an R2 unit does not look good!

Is there a reason that Biggs doesn't really seem to appear in tournament lists? Even in the lists not making the cut, I don't recall seeing a rebel list with Biggs. It seems weird that he was abandoned after the T-65 got a buff, he got a points decrease and then the overall power level of the game came down. He was still good after his nerf in 1.0 and his 2.0 ability is the same idea - he gives your opponent a chance to make the wrong decision instead of forcing the issue. Are Rebel players tired of the Fair Ship Rebels archetype? Are they simply drawn to the flashier abilities? Are they flying in box formations with Biggs and then losing jousts to barrage bombers flying in boxes against them? It's not clear why the hive mind has abandoned a pilot that was the backbone of the Rebel faction for years.

I'm thinking people are still playing with the fun toys and haven't moved on from that yet. Why be Biggs when you can be Wedge or Thane? They're so much more fun.

I know I haven't been eager to pick up Biggs right away either, but I've been working my way through a few other ships before getting back to him.

@Biophysical...isn't that what we essentially came up with last night?

Glad to see an ARC Norra do well, I've been flying this load out and she feels a lot like Boba-lite.

Say I have a U-Wing, Reveal a 0 Stationary maneuver, rotate, and take a stress. On the next turn, if I reveal a 0 Stationary again, I then execute the white 2 straight because I revealed a red while stressed. However, if I pop Inertial Dampeners, since I 'exectute a a while 0 Stationary instead', I could rotate again, though I take a second stress.

Is this sequence valid?

@sirjorjthe Pivot Wing title only requires executing a 0 maneuver, so you should be able to rotate it again. You don't even have to reveal the normally illegal 0 stop again.

Good point. That could be a fun surprise to pull...

I just re-did my list to try tonight... I did swap out one Red for Magva, to prevent re-rolls on torpedoes... 199 points, the difference.

I don't have the experience using Magva, but I always feel that even allowing 1 reroll is enough for the opposing player already. The points used to upgrade to Magva pilot doesn't feel worth it to me. Dropping to Cassian or Heff feels more impactful in an average game. Am I wrong in this thinking?

Probably not. I do find at least once a game my opponent will totally miss an attack, pick up the target lock, and correct that situation. It does add a visual distraction though and the difference between Magva and a Red Vet is 4 points. Magva is also getting extra health out of the deal, and another opportunity to coordinate if necessary.

I'm stressing the visual distraction by the way.

Is the Scum Falcon a heap destined to blow up and not really worth one's time?

I think Scum Han is slightly overshadowed by other Scum choices, but he's very solid ship. @SOTL is using it with great success.

All reports I've heard is it's better than it first looks.

He's not bad. Boba is just better.

Hey @Brunas, can I borrow two giant charge tokens on Saturday? I figure this is the best and most reasonable place to ask...

I promised my chad tokens to the mynock stream, but since @Rytackle has no idea how many charge tokens I own, sure? Why not

He saw play local to me but got dropped because he has to be in arc of attacks and that didn’t play well with the 3X playstyle.

2-0 tonight with my list in local play. That’s not saying it’s good.

in those games one opponent rolling 5-dice attacks refused to target lock in fear of Magva, second game I had one useful opportunity to use her ability.

Cassian may have been useful once or twice each game as well. I’ll keep track of this in future missions.

Didn’t lose a ship all night and knocked both (inefficient) lists off the map. I’m flying this next week.

@LagJanson how much did Saw's ability come into play? Did your opponents mention anything about what their #1 target was? I assume they shot at Biggs, but would've preferred to go after Saw.

Saw came into play ONCE in one game. Honestly, both these games were brutally one sided. Was able to damage spread so the first game against Jan Ors/generic Outrider (Luke Gunner!) so I never drew a damage card before eliminating both the other ships same turn. My opponent here totally had no idea on target priority.

Second game, Biggs took a damage card and was able to re-roll into a hit against Miranda (exploded that turn.) This was an alpha strike list so was able to draw proton torp crits away from Biggs. Total annihilation of Dutch and Jan Ors the next turn as Biggs escaped destruction.

I think Saw is the priority target... unsure if the correct target...

As of Nordic Nationals, Wedge is officially beating the average cut rate for rebels (13.5% vs 15%). That's a difference of two rebel players making cut out of all 480 lists out there, so obvious boring generic sample size disclaimer.

But I liked it.

Thane: Mr Antilles, I don't feel so good...
