Korath lands the Jedi Star outside of the outpost's perimeter, and locks down the ship.

"Hacker, S2, keep an eye on things."

As Mychal'el, Maa't and Chundar stand around the base' entrance they see a robed figure walking towards them.

Please redact Mychal'el's name from this. He hasn't told any of the characters his name yet. And he's not even in sight of Maa't and Chundar, he's merely admiring their previous handy work.

I know that. This is out of character. Korath doesn't know any of the others' names yet.

Quick question to everyone. Has everyone rolled for the additional credits their Starting characters begin actual play with after character creation? I only just realized this rule existed, so I never did it with my Starting character (Korath already has a few thousand credits left from the old D6 and D20 games). I know that Rakaydos did, but did everyone else?

No worries, everyone else was just catching up to yiu.

Ok, I don't have everything transferred to SWsheets yet, but I do have a complete sheet in a PDF that we can go off of in the meantime.

Mychal'el

That way I can start playing at least.

Looks good.

I made my neglected "starting money" roll for Rei and added the total to the character's sheet.

You see it's all one building. Two figures stand infront of its primary entrance. Another figure is kneeing just inside of the perimeter.

I'm requesting a re-ruling on this. I thought the outpost is only part of the city where everyone is parked, on different platforms. I also thought everyone took different routes to get to the outpost. My character would have been easily tracking Matt's guys by following a trail of dead bodies. I assumed the gate guards weren't the first Stormtroopers they took down after they landed in the city.

I'd like to start with Mychal'el racing up the dome roof of the outpost and drop to the heart of the base through the ventilation shaft before anyone else can get to it.

He has all the Racer: Freerunning & Short Cut talents plus maxed out Force Jump and Conditioned x2 for falling. What should I roll GM?

I believe that the entrance is where you first start tracking them into the complex. What happens afterwards, and how many more "bodies" you find is up to Killer.

So we're all just standing together in the rain in a supermarket parking lot waiting for the cashier to unlock the automatic doors? Bummer!

Matt started on the roof above the entrance but he didn't teleport there, and I doubt he just landed a ship on the roof without the guards noticing. And it would be pretty unlikely that there were no other troopers between their transport and where they started their first scene. And even more unlikely that they wouldn't have attacked any troopers they could see along the way.

In my first scene I put my guy on their trail but far enough so he could look off in the direction of the outpost and not see anybody, maybe behind the outpost even. All I'm asking is that the GM redact my mysterious teleportation to the front door.

But if you wanted to, you could give Mychal'el equal XP as Korath and we can see how many rounds they can go against each other? That could be fun! But it might take me a week to choose how to spend it, lol!

Why is Mychal at this station? what brought him here?

My understanding is that we arnt nessisarally connected yet, but coincidently meet up by arriving at the same place at the same time. What brings you here?

This is where he was born & raised by the Empire to become a killer. Their evil ruined his life. There are secrets down there that must be kept secret.

Are you guarding the base, or attacking it?

That is a excellent question! Your characters should find that out.

If you dont want to share, strictly out of character, I cant help you with your situation.

Both. He's guarding a secret inside the base from the First Order and any other intruders.

So if you are guarding the deep base from the first order, the first order has been reactiong to events outside the facility, and now doors are opening across the upper level.

He was on his way into the base, he thought there was just dumb stormtroopers ignorantly sitting on a gold mine/powder keg. Now he's finding hacked up Stormtroopers all over the place. Now he thinks he's in a race against someone even worse than the First Order.

Obviously he's going to take advantage of the distraction that's being made by all the chaos and try to slip in undetected by First Order or the other PCs.

He escaped 40 years ago and now he's back to get some closure. He's a fit 52

Well, you cant do it "before anyone else", because Jarash used his "scene change to your bounty already in binders" narrative ability to already be inside the base at the start of the game.

To enter through the ventilation shafts, I'd suggest Athletics, some Coordination, and perhaps Knowlege: Education to find your way around.

I meant I want to be further down, in the belly of the beast, before anyone else. My character doesn't have high knowledge but this is where he lived the first 12 years of his life and he escaped from it. It would be like a youngling survivor going back to the Jedi Temple after the fall of the Empire 40 years later.

My stats are:

Athletics: YGG -B -B WWW

Coordination: YYGGGG -B -B

Knowledge: Education: GG

3 ranks in Short Cut let me add 3 advantage die to catch or escape an opponent in a chase or race

Improved Short Cut let me spend 2 strain for successes (explosions) equal to ranks in Short Cut (3)

Since my character is convinced that this a race between him and whoever is infiltrating the base, the least he can do is get as close to the "finish line" as your guys are by using a shortcut (i.e. vent shaft) thus avoiding hordes of Stormtroopers like Matt's characters will probably (happily) have to face.

Edited by Mychal'el

I had assumed you were looking at the first group that was killed by Matt.

You can try to sneak into the base, but make sure you take your strain for free running.

Coordination check hard upgraded twice with two setbacks for the rain. 2eC+1eD+2eS.

So can I use my Short Cut talent, since my character is racing to beat the other PCs to the lower levels?

Short Cut (Passive): 3 boost to checks made to catch or escape opponent

Improved Short Cut (Passive): - 2 strain = 3 boost to Short Cut check

Freerunning (Incidental): - 1 Strain = move to any location within short range

Improved Freerunning (Incidental): - 4 Strain = move to any location within medium range

I'm still learning dice, bare with me,

My base Coordination skill is: 2eP+4eA-2eS

Short Cut: +3eB?

Improved Freerunning: -4 strain = medium range?

Coordination check is: 2eC+1eD+2eS

So the setbacks cancel out right?

Should I have rolled a Vigilance check so he would know that he should be racing?
