As we continue to do these Showcase threads, some of the older ones are starting to fall way down into the forum. I thought it might be a good idea to create an index thread to make them easier to locate. Anyone know who to talk to about getting this stickied?

I'm glad everyone is enjoying it! I hope that people will continue to add to the threads even after we've moved on to other ships. I really want the showcases to be a resource for people looking for ideas. Also, it's really cool to see different people takes on the same craft.

As for the next ship, the Scum faction is needing some love, so we'll do the StarViper next. I'll get a thread up first thing in the morning!

It's always great to see things that can inspire others.

It's threads like this that inspired me to mod and paint my models when we had similar threads in the last version of the Painting and Modification Forum.

So it's good to see it revived again

Out of interest and intrigue

How do you go through picking which ship to show case.

Are you trying to even up each faction.....or what ever takes your fancy ?

I am basically working through each wave, alternating factions. Since Scum isn't represented in the first few waves, I added one in from a later wave or used a ship that is dual-faction to keep it kind of even.

That said...Time for the next Showcase!

Have you heard anything back yet from a Moderator about tacking this to the top of the Paint Forum.

You beat me to the punch. I actually had the next Showcase thread on my to-do list for today, but hadn't had a chance to post it yet!

As for sticky status for the index, I reached out to one of the mods, but I haven't heard anything back and it's been a while. Time to try another one. It's a shame we don't have very good mod presence on the X-wing forum. It seems to be mostly putting out fires.

Any chance we could have a HWK showcase?

No HWK for you!!

Kidding...

I used to hate the HWK, but it has really won me over. I really love it despite (in spite of?) it's bad dial, and 1 attack die.

I should have something ready for a T-70 showcase whenever it happens, maybe a Shadowcaster.

Can I also suggest a scratchbuilt/heavily modified/ugly showcase?

and that's part of wondering which Ship Piscopas will come up with in the next Showcase.

But might I suggest we leave it to Piscopas to decide, as he is the Thread Creator.

And we can all look forward to seeing which one He come's up with next

Its nice to have that Intrigue, I think He is managing to keep an even faction flow of things.

and its great to see someone taking the time and effort to do it for us on the Forum.

For the record, I'm totally happy with whatever showcases are picked, regardless of whether I've got something painted for them. I'm really enjoying them!

This is a really cool idea, thanks for starting it up! Reckon there's room for 'showcase - unit' or similar? Might be a nice way for people to show off their squads as a whole.

Actually, just think how many Showcases there will be......wave 11 arrives soon.
