2 Sisters of Battle Looking for a play by post Game

By Servant of Dante, in Dark Heresy Play By Mail/Email

Cool! I'm still looking forward to seeing it. While it would be nice for her to be exactly the same, it's not a big dead, especially since she probably won't do much fighting. A much more important issue is her personality, which I'm actually not 100% clear on yet myself, since I haven't played her yet, unfortunately.

Things should pick up next week. Since Lyn will be back and you two have your characters in. All I need to do is help Lyn if they need it, and get some quick stuff together. in terms of notes. Have about 1/3 done so far in terms of starting out stuff.

I like to keep a framework of a story and see what players do, so I never need a lot.

Alright, did my best here's Inellia.

What do you think Dante?

EDIT: Old Link Removed

Odd, some formatting on what statistic advances she took didn't transfer.

I think I'll try my battlemap idea, but instead of uploading it on the forum I'll just share it with Google Drive. It'll save some time at least on linking stuff back and forth.

But again the idea might get abandoned anyways so we'll see in practice.

I like it! I'm sure you got the talents as close as possible. I'll have a closer look at the 2E faith talents at some point.

The only thing is that her singing skill is not represented.

Sorry for not checking in sooner.

The only thing is that her singing skill is not represented.

There didn't seem to be a skill for Performance of any variety in 2E unfortunately. At least from what I found.

Check the Trade skill descriptions, I think there is a category that covers singing.

Looking at the Enemies Within SoB Talents:

Ooh, I like the Spirit on the Martyr talent . . .

Wouldn't the Shelding Faith Talent make sense for Inellia since it is anti-psyker?

Your choice, of course. Thanks for putting in all of that work!

Hey, this was just me doing my best to replicate what I saw.

Make any changes you want and feel fit better, and then just send it back to me.

I'm sure I missed some things. At the end of the day the NPC isn't going to get in a firefight. She's just a proxy contact that I feel will make the two novices feel more comfortable in the new situation they'll be in. At least that's how the inquisitor feels on it.

Whatever you want to remove/add is all you. After a certain point it was just an entertaining sidetrack.

Just found another Order of Sororitas within the Askelon Sector if you were curious.

The Convent of the Shining Blade. A militant order for Sisters of Battle. A successor to the Order of the Ebon Chalice of the Calaxis Sector.

Enemies Beyond p.90

I still don't think we are part of an order yet

I still don't think we are part of an order yet

I know, don't worry. I was just point it out for those who might just want to read up on it.

Hiyas! I'm back from Cologne, although I'm about to catch some sleep in preparation for the workday.

I'm still conferring with Servant for choice of Role (I think it may be better if we don't pick the same one, if only to lend some more unique personality to characters with a fairly uniform background), but now that I have access to the books again, expect another post on this tomorrow, as in ~15h from now.

By the way, am I correct in assuming that DH2 does not have any solid slug ammunition for shotguns? Would it be possible to convert that ammunition type from one of the other game lines? I've kind of grown to like the idea of the character keeping a few special rounds ready for increased tactical flexibility, and in addition to incendiary slugs, the solid ones (to remove the Scatter quality) seem like an obvious choice, both due to their effect on engagement range as well as their cheapness/availability.

I know, don't worry. I was just point it out for those who might just want to read up on it.

Not to mention that we can keep it in mind for (much) later when we finally get to take our vows! ;)

On a sidenote, I'm rather glad we are leaving Calixis behind. It got crazy-crowded there in terms of SoB after FFG decided to for some reason have every Major Order maintain a presence there. Very different to how it felt when it was just 50 Battle Sisters as detailed in Black Industry's Inquisitor's Handbook. Might as well drop five Space Marine Chapters and two Titan Legions into a single sector.

Well to be fair there are 300 sisters under the forces of the Order of the Shining Blade.

As for slugs, let me look into it. I thought they eventually brought them back in, but maybe not.

Huh, I guess they didn't oh well. The closest edition to have the back in was OW so we will use those stats.

Solid Slugs
Solid slug rounds replace the scattershot of standard shotgun
cartridges with a solid lead round, giving up spread for
improved damage against both armour and flesh.
Effect: A shotgun loaded with slug rounds increases its Damage
by +1 and Penetration by +2. It loses the Scatter Quality.
Used with: Any shotgun.

Same base availability as the book meaning one more difficult than the gun itself.

300 sounds good; just a little above what I'd expect for a Minor Order but certainly still in line even with GW studio material.

If these are and will remain the only Battle Sisters in the sector, which I hope. :P

And thank you for the slugs! That sounds perfect. :)

I find it unlikely that they will create more material for DH2 at this point unfortunately, and frankly I'm surprised I found the second one.

Still want me to roll FT and Wounds?

How was your trip?

Did you get to see Dawn of War 3 at Gamescom by chance?

Welcome back!

Thanks! I've had fun and met a lot of people that for years I've only known from afar. Seen lots of cool games, too. ^_^

I did in fact walk by the DoW3 booth, too, but didn't queue for it. I might have mustered the patience if the game would feature Sisters or Guard, but as it is (in essence) yet another Marine game my interest was limited in the same way as it already was for DoW2.

And good point about DH2. A bit sad, but at least it means the setting should remain "stable" rather than new oddities being inserted or rewritten all the time. I'd certainly also still appreciate those dice rolls, once I have locked in my choice of Homeworld and Role, which should be later today. Servant is already up, which means I'll probably get a PM reply within the minute. ;)

Sounds good, I wouldn't be able to roll anything before I get home from work today anyways.

Let me know if I can help in any other way as well.

Well, 20 min. I had some things to say. :D

And I agree on the DoW bit. I don't play a ton of video games, and therefore if I was going to buy a DoW game, it would be Soulstorm, so I could play my Sisters.

"Praise be to the Emperor for giving us this point."

I can imagine that the Canoness could get a bit annoying, since all they seem to say on a regular basis is "Witchcraft, mutation, and heresy!"

Or maybe that's just the only line that stuck in my head because I loved it so much. :P

Well, I've got to go.

FYI, Lynata suggested I check out the Desperado role since it's Role Ability is reminiscent of the Seraphim's table-top Hit and Run rule.

Looking at the Desperado, I am sold on it (I get Finesse!), and will be switching over my character sheet as soon as I can (hopefully tonight).

Sounds fine, like I said before. I really just want characters to be done by the end of this week. So there's no rush. If they're done sooner then I certainly won't complain.
