A Few Homebrew Cards

By HK47, in Android: Netrunner The Card Game

We have a nice Home-brew character card forum over at Imperial Assault, and would like to dedicate one for custom Netrunner cards.

Here's a few I made up:

Angel Shipping

Min deck size: 43

Influence: 12

Weyland

The first time the runner installs a card on his or her turn, she must pay an additional 1 cred or take 1 tag.

Kronos

ICE-Weyland-3 Influence

Sentry-TITAN

Strength: 10

Rez: 11

Kronos costs 0 influence if you have at least 2 other TITAN Ice in your deck.

-> Trash 1 Installed card.

-> Do 3 Meat damage.

And he reached with the sickle, and then the sky bled.

Iapetus

ICE-NBN-3 Influence

Code Gate-TITAN

Strength:9

Rez: 10

Iapetus costs 0 influence if you have at least 2 other TITAN Ice in your deck.

-> Trace 5; If successful, give the runner 2 tags.

-> Trace 6, if successful, give the runner 1 tag and End the Run.

And the Four held down their father, holding his wretched form in their powerful grasp.

Hyperion

ICE- Haas-Bioroid- 3 Influence

Barrier-TITAN

Strength: 6

Rez: 8

Hyperion costs 0 influence if you have at least 2 other TITAN Ice in your deck.

-> End The Run

-> End The Run

-> End The Run

-> End The Run

-> End The Run.

They held fast, as their Father tried to wriggle free. No such thing happened.

Krios

ICE-Jinteki-3 Influence

???-TITAN

Strength: 8

Cost: 9

Krios costs 0 influence If you have two or more TITAN Ice in your deck.

You and the runner secretly spend 0, 1, or 2. If you spent different amounts of credits, the runner chooses the ICE's type. If you spent the same amount, the Corp chooses.

-> 3 Net Damage

-> 2 Net Damage

-> 1 Net Damage

They surprised Father. They held him down. He was not going to live through this day.

Making up custom cards is harmless as long as you do it in private and wash your hands afterward.

Quid Pro Quo

Operation - Weyland - 4 influence

Cost X

Play only if the runner is tagged.

Remove X tags from the runner to do X meat damage to the runner.

The runner may remove bad publicity to prevent 1 meat damage for each bad publicity removed this way.

Snuff Film Studio

Agenda - Weyland - Cost 3 - Points 3

This agenda cannot be hosted on other cards.

When you score this agenda, place 3 power tokens on it. If the runner accesses this agenda, add it to your score area and place 5 power tokens on it.

This agenda is worth 1 less point for each power token on it.

Whenever you deal any amount of meat damage to the runner, remove 1 power token from this agenda.

Now excuse me while I go wash my hands.

Snuff studio is stupidly broken. You just play it in a vegan deck, and make sure you can deal with Film Critic.

Liquefied Assets

NBN

Operation

The Corp trashes all of his or her cards in his/her hand. He gains 6 credits. Then draw 4 cards.

" Sir, is this a good idea? I've ran the numbers and..." "The executives own everything here. They might as well own God, too. Now hush, and help me move these computers."

Clickbait Campaign

NBN

This plus Replicator. Unless the Corp has hardware destruction, chances of mill victory just increased drastically.

Trash: 4

Whenever all of a piece of Ice's subroutines are broken in one encounter, that ICE gains +1 strength. (forever)

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win.'"

This just doesn't work. It creates a permanent effect beyond the life card (which is itself silly) and with no way to track which ICE have been affected.

Planned Obsolescence

Operation

Play cost: 5

Play only if the runner is tagged.

Trash all Hardware or one Program.

Surprise!

This is kind of cool. Not 100% sure about thematically, but mechanically it seems to be a decent power level, and not horribly costed. Nice to have two options so it's not a dead draw against non-hardware users.

Rigged to Blow

Weyland

Asset

Ambush-Facility

If Rigged to Blow is accessed from R&D, The Runner must reveal it.

When the Runner accesses Rigged to Blow, he or she must suffer 4 meat damage or trash a piece of Hardware.

"The reported explosion was caused my a fuel main gas leak. Luckily, no one was hurt, and the Weyland Consortium has graciously offered to foot all repair costs..."

This is ludicrously undercosted for its effect. Just search the card pool for other ambushes--nearly all require an activation cost or some other investment by the corp, are saddled with some limitation based on where they're encountered, or have a comparatively modest effect.

"Ambush" is a rare trait in Weyland; it's just not in their color pie. Jinteki is the faction with hostile ambush cards, and this is far and away more powerful than Shock, Snare, or Psychic Field.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I've made some changes. For rigged to blow to work, the corp must forfeit an agenda (you are destroying a building after all) and reactive defences now only adds the strength fo the reaminder of the turn (discouraging RD milling etc.)

Install Cat Burglar face up.

Trash: Force the runner to lose up to 6 credits from his or her credit pool. The runner may prevent this by taking 3 tags. Use this ability only while the runner is running on a different server.

"So intent on breaking our security measures that you forgot to beef up your own, eh?"

Trained Sniper

Upgrade

Rez: X Trash: 0

X is the number of ice protecting the server in which Trained Sniper is installed.

When the runner breaks a subroutine on the outermost piece of ice protecting this server, you may rez Trained Sniper, paying its cost to deal X meat damage to the runner, then trash Trained Sniper. The runner may immediately jack out.

"I always fire a warning shot first, preferably through 2 or more vital organs. A warning to the other runners, that is."

Cat burglar is borderline broken in RP.
